(Btw, did Leon recast Darkvision on himself and Bernard?)

Patient waiting in that room lovely decorated with humanoid's innards did not yield much. The light from the well can not be natural, obviously, and most likely has something to do with Evocation school (though the light obscures the aura). Aside from that, only one of the broken weapon was magical - a head of the mace ( a +1 mace , to be specific, attached to a broken haft). The panther by the statue looks very much alive and not magical. Other than that - nothing on this level.  

(Yes he will recast darkvision on himself and bugs after each long rest.)

"Well that broken mace there looks to be magical, but not much else..." Leon informs the group. "Other than the light from the well, of course that is magical."

Ramious looks at the panther that looks alive, but has been sitting staring at the statue without glancing towards them once.  He raises his voice, "Hey...cat.  Hey you."  If it doesn't respond, he picks up a small rock and throws it at its butt.  "Hey...cat..."

If that fails, a spectral hand moves over to the cat and pokes it in the head.  *poke poke poke*.  "HEY....CAT!"

"Ramious, stop that.  I got it," Bernard says.  He holds up his hand to show the ring on it.  Taking a deep breath he uses a charge from the ring to cast speak with animal.

In panther talk he calls out, "Hello strong cat.  Can we speak with you?"

Actually, the cat (that was facing away from the statue) was staring at the well all that time, but yes, remaining perfectly still. Until it heard the sound. The ears twitched, the panther stood up and padded menacingly in the groups direction … and then continued on past them, as if people standing at the door were invisible.

By the way, there are no other exits from this room (aside from the five-foot-wide opening above the well).

Ramious watches the cat pad by, as his muscles are taught, he's on his toes, and the clutches the axe.  As it passes by he loosens up then scratches his head.  He walks towards the cat that pads past them.  "Hey, cat.  Don't ignore me man, that's not nice.  Cat..."  He walks right up to it, suddenly expecting it to act more like a house cat, as he will hold his hand out for it to smell. 

Leon moves into the chamber, keeping an eye on the cat, but not attacking it if it doesn't attack him. He tries to get a look up into the hole in the ceiling.

The panther stopped and twitched ears again, smelled the air. It looked bothered by the noises and smells but still not able to see the group. And not attacking even after Leon moved to the well.

Meanwhile Leon looked up - the opening is high above (25ft) and you can not really tell where it leads. At least nobody stares back at you.

Ramious attempts to poke the cat with his finger.

(Considering Ramious strength - how strong? Would he touch the cat one time or several with increasing pressure?)

Bernard will move closer with Ramious but still stay back a 10 feet.

Alyssa could only stand back an observe with a popped brow. While the boys played with the cat and the hole, she’d step around to the broken mace. The elf would move in to take a closer look. She’d pick it up to cast Mending on it.

The magic shined around the fracture and two pieces of the haft came together - the mace now looked if not as new, than at least fully functional.

Leon summons forth his owl familiar and has it fly up into the hole above, going into its senses to look through its eyes as it does so.

A hint of a smirk would tug at the corner of the elf’s lips as she tested the weight of the newly repaired mace in her hand.

(Just once, making sure it's not an illusion and see how it responds to something touching it.)

Simple touch proved the panther was alive - at least it felt very real and even warm. The cat jumped up turning around but still looked as if right through Ramious. A moment later it resumed it's pacing but the tail betrayed anger now.

"We mean no harm, please do not attack.  Can you tell us how you came to be here.  Maybe we can help you?"  Bernard said.

((I take it, Bernard is using the ring?))

Same reaction - the panther can obviously hear the sound but can not locate it or otherwise localize the group. The cat growls that Bernard understands as "wrong smells, wrong sounds, can not see" in angry tone.
