A backstory with depth: In Character sheet. It's a pretty dark story 🥺
One or two important NPC’s attached to your characters backstory (see the hero chronicle in EGTW): Sif, my Fey Godmother (I created a very basic Homebrewed monster and attached it to my Character sheet in the creature section.
Character goals: To assassinate all those who abused me. To protect those who have been similarly abused.
Why your character is in Uthodurn: To hunt down the merchant Dargon and kill him.
One or two important NPC’s attached to your characters backstory (see the hero chronicle in EGTW): Do you have a link? Or maybe quote the relevant section. I'm not familiar with this one at all.

I'm having issues with the dice roller, I rolled 7 scores, then realized drop 1 means drop a d6 and not drop a whole score. That's why it says potentially tampered. I'm willing to reroll in another post if this is suspect.
Name, Race, Class, Background - Longen Thundertongue, Bronze Dragonborn, Cleric(tempest)/Rogue, Formerly a stormpriest on a pirate ship, now wanders as a mercenary/rainpriest
A backstory with depth - When Longen was a young child, his family was on a voyage by ship when a terrible storm drove their ship into the reefs. Everyone but Longen drowned in the shipwreck, and his future looked grim on the rocky reef in the ocean. A passing ship rescued Longen, and he was adopted into a Kord worshiping pirate clan named the Stormchasers. Longen was raised by the clan's head priest, and was taught to preach and worship Kord, along with more unsavory arts of pirate life. Longen spent the next decade living with the clan on their home island and learning from his adoptive father Verrik. When he was 18, Longen was sent on his first raid as the weather priest of the Wavedeath. What he thought was going to be a "harmless" plunder run instead turned out to be a full on **** and pillage of a coastal village. Longen quickly realized that he didn't have the stomach for his adoptive families brutal brand of piracy. While his fellow pirates were tearing the village apart, Longen fled inland, ashamed of both what the pirates had done, and that he couldn't bring himself to participate. Longen has been wandering the countryside ever since, earning a meager living bringing rain and storms to desperate villages, and working as a mercenary for hire.
One or two important NPC’s attached to your characters backstory - Longen's adopted father Verrik. He raised Longen from a young boy into a man, teaching him the ways of the Stormlord and piracy. A hard and unforgiving man, he is fervent in his worship and harsh but fair with his flock.
Character goals - Longen is a drifter by nature. At this point in his life he is content to wander from town to town, offering his services as a weather priest, or as a mercenarywhen desperate. He often dreams of returning to his adoptive home and confronting his family, but his feelings of anger and shame about them leave him conflicted and avoidant.
Why your character is in Uthodurn - Longen wandered into town looking for work. He's been traveling through small towns for a few months, and hasn't been able to make much money. Hopefully Uthodurn proves more bountiful.
Chaedris is among the active researchers of Eiselcross, returned with the latest in artifacts to Uthadurn. He is working hard to save his people and undo the curse of the Savalir Wood, but in more recent years, he finds he enjoys the cold. Eiselcross changes everyone at least a little, and it’s changing Chaedris a lot. Every treasure he finds, every discovery made, is a piece of treasure in his horde of self value.
He does try to fight against it however, sticking close to his sister, despite her wishes. He found out that she had been involved with vigilantes fighting Shady Creek smugglers, and slave traders. He didn’t think much of the secret, but she believes he himself is just as bad as them with his “dragon fever” treasure seeking. He believes that if he sticks close to her, he’ll rid himself of this hunger.
Besides her, there was a woman he intended to marry. The two of them haven’t been close for many years when he chose helping at Eiselcross over a marriage and life with her, but she still has a smile for him when he sees her. He wonders about her at times, but not so much that he regrets his decision.
I’ve already chosen three players for the campaign and I’m just waiting for the last few character ideas to come through. I’m debating opening up the campaign to more than just 4 characters based on what I’ve received but I’m still undecided.
I very much appreciate all of the posts and wish those that weren’t picked luck in the future. I still may add more players, but for now, the four players I chose for the campaign are:
AngiroZenjin
BaconExpert982
Vakarash
Arcturos
Starting equipment will be: 500 gp plus 1d10 × 25 gp, normal starting equipment. I suggest everyone looks through the Fateful Moments to get an extra item/perk, and if you don’t like any of them feel free to PM me your own idea.
I definitely don’t want to rush into the campaign since I want to involve the character stories in the overarching story. Please give me a day or so to come up with story hooks for your characters and if I see overlap I will try to tie two characters together before the party meets up. Since these directly involve your characters feel free to change anything you think is off.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
There were a lot of interesting characters, so I really don't envy your having to choose. I'm very excited to bring Rianath to life and explore the story together with the others! This is going to be fantastic.
While I'm at it, roll for starting gold: 4 x25, so 550 gp.
Just so it doesn’t seem like this thread is dead, I’m sending individual story hooks in personal messenger and will start posting in the thread once the party gets together.

Does that mean the rest of us who didn't make it sound unsubscribe from this forum?

Sure. I'll send messages to anyone joining the campaign in the future, so if you don't want notifications then unsubscribing is the solution.
The four characters find their fates intertwining on the Volition disc of Uthodurn, a diarchy of elves and dwarves who find peace in their combined ideals and ingenuity. As Rianath, Tikak, and Af exchange introductions, they are approached by Celia (Feel free to describe your characters appearance at this time). They are gathered in front of a small group of people dressed for travel.
Celia asks, "Excuse me if I'm interrupting, but you all look like you're getting ready to go somewhere? Where are you heading?"
Celia is an olive skinned, nervous looking human, a burgundy psuedodragon curled around her neck and a sprite following after her, landing on her shoulder as she stops.
Rianath is a little broader than the typical elf, standing at six feet tall with more defined musculature. His light brown hair hangs around his neck in a wild mane, half-tucked behind his pointed ears. His hazel eyes shine with an open friendliness, and his bronze-toned skin hint at the hours spent outside.
He turns to look at the approaching human, looking her over to try to guess at her abilities, before his eyes lock onto the pseudodragon curled around her neck. His fingers flex in a desire to pet the creature, but he holds himself back. "Aye, the group there is lookin' for volunteers ta escort 'em ta Palebank Village. Interested in joinin'?" he asks, forgetting to mind his accent in his distraction.
Is it too late to apply? I'm still getting my character's backstory together.
Okay. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks.

Oh sweet, I get to pick a fateful moment? Heck yeah.
6 x 25 + 500 = 600 gold. Performing has done well for me.
