Kulloda summons Rindeth Mar to The Fang and introduces him as his eyes, ears and mouth, though for now he doesn't make him officially his commander. The angry lieutenant of the old fang might still be useful in that role.
He does thank the others for their guidance and suggestions. "Kulloda think Fang be good space not have listen too much talk and talk. Good place for us to talk and plan with no bad ears around."
Kulloda does consider the three torturers who were pointed out by the one who is Dog's friend.
"Do you choose to torture or do because scared of old Fang?" Kulloda asks them. Kulloda relies on his companions to let him know if they detect any deception or lying in the responses of the torturers.
He's not sure it will matter what their response is but he could be convinced to let them have a second chance. Though he's still leaning to just executing the three of them; if that causes issues for his friends, he will wait til they're not around.
Kulloda also meets with the heads of the tribes to get their loyalty and tell them that they are going to get ready to increase the amount of raiding they do on the Kingdom of Harbach. That may make it easier for the group to move about in the kingdom if they're going there to deal with one of the quests.
Not to run on too much, but during this transition if Kulloda senses one of the barbarians or tribal leaders is not fully invested in swearing loyalty, he will demand they challenge him and he's willing to fight any of them in single combat. He'll also bring the lieutenant into discussions with Kulloda and Rindeth Mar about keeping control of the Fang and expanding its borders.
Once things have settled down, he would just let the others know "Kulloda ready for next quest."
Kulloda would also make available the 13,000 gold from the coffers of the old Fang to get the circus going again. The remaining 4,000 gold will hopefully cover expenses for awhile until they can start replenishing the coffers from new raids.
"Kulloda like circus. Like gladiators except not fight." Kulloda says. "Think this circus add fighting? Make better that way."
If Dog shares the information he's received, Kulloda laughs at the idea of stealing fire from elves.
"Elves look stupid with no fire," Kulloda says. "Should take fire just for fun even if not make gods change mind."
Kulloda summons Rindeth Mar to The Fang and introduces him as his eyes, ears and mouth, though for now he doesn't make him officially his commander. The angry lieutenant of the old fang might still be useful in that role.
Dog is able to retrieve Rindeth Mar easily with the teleportation helm, after which Gash is able to remove the slave collar with simple spell. For a tense moment, Rindeth Mar eyes Kulloda, then eyes the door. He eyes the weapons on everyone and the collar on the floor. Muscles relax in the burly former slave's neck and he grasp's Kulloda's forearm in a tight shake.
"So you are the new Fang. What is your need of me?"

The barbarians pointed out by Althus lower their heads in respect to the new Fang. "We only do as the Fang commands. It always was and always will be."
Kulloda can tell otherwise, though. They way they pointed and stared at Althus after he was freed. They way they revisited their actions when they thought no one was looking. These men tortured Althus because they felt powerful in breaking one that was stronger than them.
Kulloda also meets with the heads of the tribes to get their loyalty and tell them that they are going to get ready to increase the amount of raiding they do on the Kingdom of Harbach. The meetings with tribal leaders is luke-warm at best. They are not hostile towards Kulloda and none accept his challenge but there is little to no trust in the new Fang.
"We have heard how you challenged the old Fang," one of them says. "You have yet to prove yourself to us."
Another adds quickly, "But you shall have the chance. Show us you are the Fang and we will follow you."
The first, less cautious in his diplomacy, says, "You will earn the title of Fang. That is how it always has been. We fight and die only for the Fang. Be the Fang and you will have our axes."
Kulloda has clearly not won them over. But neither has he been outright rejected by the tribal leaders. He clearly has no army behind him, though.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kulloda respects the tribal leaders for what they say. It gives him comfort actually as it's not so different than the gladiator arenas. You become champion by winning, not because someone just makes you champion.
"We go to take riches from elves in Poria," Kulloda says to the tribal leaders. "All get rich. Kulloda, Kulloda comrades take magic from them too."
To Rindeth Mar, Kulloda says "You free. Go if want. But want stay get rich. Get powerful here. Need you be eyes and ears and voice of Kulloda. Keep warriors busy when Kulloda not here. You want to raid. You raid. But watch leaders and that one especially."
Kulloda wants Rindeth to keep an eye on what's going on in the village whenever Kulloda isn't there.
As for the three torturer, Kulloda listens to Martin's advice and searches for the word for a moment.
"Scapegoat," Kulloda says, looking at Martin. "If need scapegoat?"
He looks at the three and decides, "not need three."
As unpleasant as it might seem to the others, Kulloda knows he must establish rules early. Choosing the two that seemed the least offensive, Kulloda has them locked up where Althus was locked up. He will conduct the execution of the third one himself. He will have the other soldiers seize the third one. And if they refuse, he will seize him with Rindeth's help and quickly sever head from body (if this turns into a fight, he'll still keep going - Intimidation if needed: 15 ).
Afterwards he'll ask the barbarians/soldiers of the village who's ready to go and raid the elves.
And he'll explain the shrine to Tempus to them as well. They're not required to worship Tempus and Kulloda makes it clear he doesn't like Tempus but also clear that the god has a lot of power and favors warriors. Raiding, leading to war with the elves would bring his favor.
Tristan quickly appoints himself the Fang’s personal court bard, and props himself up on a table at the head of the room helping himself to food and drink while regaling the barbarians of tales and song of great deeds long forgotten and heroes long dead. He knows his audience and fills their minds with glory, blood, and battle. But through it all he keeps his ears open for any information on the Fang’s dealings with their neighbors and any intrigue he can learn.
He eats off the leg of a game hen and leans in toward Kulloda and the others “Wise choice, keep the fighting and raiding and keep them happy. If it can help us get the flame from the elves, so much the better. The money will go a long way in restoring the circus, and I have a lead on where the survivors meet and where to find the former high priest. We get the gold, high priest, and survivors together and we can get the circus back in town. We can do that after the flame if you all wish.”
Martin will talk to Tristan a bit when there's some free time.
"Tristan, I was hoping I could borrow some of your time and talents. Not... We're busy, but all this business of gods, and dead gods... There are some things I'd like to be remembered by somebody other than me. I haven't come up with anything. But you walk with fairies and such. Could I like... Pay one to remember?"

"We go to take riches from elves in Poria," Kulloda says to the tribal leaders. "All get rich. Kulloda, Kulloda comrades take magic from them too."
This gets Kulloda a stiff but respectful nod. "Show us and we will follow you."
Rindeth Mar does look skittish but he straightens his back. "I will stay," he says. His voice does not waver.
The former slave surprises Kulloda but writing down what is expected of him in an unpracticed scrawl. The man has probably not written since he was a child but he attempts this new role as liaison to the Fang with a sense of gravitas.

With Martin, Dog (when he returns from the palace), Gash and Tristan, he says "We have gold for circus. Think we take elf fire now too."
The ringleader of the three young men is subdued easily enough under threat of pain and a slow death.
"I followed the word of The Fang. Now The Fang punishes me for it," says the man (through a translator). "The Fang is The Fang, not two different. You different than The Fang."
It is clear the man is implying, with the axe at his neck, that Kulloda is not the rightful Fang. And the rightful Fang would behave consistently from one to the next.
(We will continue this scene before the man is executed.)
While Tristan and Martin talk, Rindeth Mar rouses the village for a raid, barking at barbarians to done their armor and weapons and prepare the horses to ride. It will be several days to the forests of Poria but the raiding party leaves this afternoon.
(Make sure you have leveled up and taken care of everything you want to before we head to the forests of Poria.)
Kulloda frowns and growls at the man going about the Fang and the continuity of the 'crown."
"Yes Fang, no Fang, Fang, Fang, Fang," Kulloda barks. Then points the axe at the torturer. "Not care what say about Fang or Not Fang. Kulloda not same as man with no head."
Tristan sits next to Martin and places a hand on his shoulder. “It’s true, the good men do is often forgotten after they pass along. It is natural to want to leave something behind, a story, a legacy. But fairies, bah, they care little enough about themselves, let alone the affairs of man. We can do better. You are shaping the heavens itself by your actions. Hells, man. The story you shared of your wife protecting the forest is enough to keep both of your memories alive. I will think on it with you and with no payment for others to remember.”
Tristan watches in amusement as Kulloda continues to argue with the torturers. “That one will be without a head next I wager, you don’t want to get on Kulloda’s bad side. Come let’s get ready to gather the flame.”
"I'm a little hesitant to rekindle a conflict between the Fang and the elves, but I suppose it's unavoidable,"Dog says to the group. "Perhaps we can warn them so they can get children and elders out of the warpath. That might provide a pathway for us to find the flame and to investigate and purloin while they are distracted. What do you think?"
He otherwise prepares for, well, anything. He'd like to get moving to restart the circus as soon as their business with the elves is finished.

He turns to the onlookers, pointing a hand at the other barbarians, sweeping it around the room. "You heard him. Fang must be here, then. Fang jump to one of us."
Hs eyes return to Kulloda, blazing with fury and righteousness. "I say Fang is now me."
(Holy crap. I rolled a nat 1 on Kulloda's persuasion, literally the ONLY roll that would lose against the young barbarian. I will leave it to you on how to RP that failure.)
The brash young man has managed to shake the confidence of the tribe that Kulloda can be the Fang. He has seeded the doubt, although clearly none accept him as the new Fang either. He has not persuaded anyone of that. Whether he lives or dies, Kulloda's reputation as leader of the The Fang has slipped somewhat...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nothing to be done now except finish the job. Kulloda will take out all his frustration at being forced to talk to all these tribal leaders and now put up with the whiny torturers on this young barbarian.
If initiative is needed: 14
Kulloda feels all the anger bubble up and out of him, such that he would enter a rage now too. Slashing out hard with his great sword twice against the young barbarian.
Attack 1: Attack: 23 Damage: 20 - includes extra rage damage - second roll if advantage if young barbarian is still restrained (27 )
Attack 2: Attack: 33 Damage: 26 - includes extra rage damage - second roll if advantage if young barbarian is still restrained (23 )
Plus Divine Fury on first attack that hits: Additional 13 radiant damage

Kulloda beheads the young man in a fury that leaves the men holding his arms splattered in his blood. Nobody leaps to the young man's defense or challenges Kulloda after such an impressive display of punishment. Many turn their heads and continue or begin their preparations to ride.
(Does anyone else have anything they would like to do before we move on to the elven woods of Poria? I will give Dog an opportunity to do something before the raid if he wants to warn the village at all as they get closer.)
Dog shifts his familiar, Stitches, from spider form to owl form before they leave. "We'll need a scout I think. Anyone have a better option?"
He gathers his things. He's going with the flow. Off on an errand that may or may not be necessary, and will definitely be disruptive. Should definitely be clandestine, at least.
As they walk out, eventually, he leans over to Kulloda, eyes still forward. "I think there's a decent chance you'll have to behead someone else when you return. If it's necessary, I'll help. This is an odd place. I won't miss it. Let's not break Poria, shall we?"
He'll take some time to check in with Gash, Tristan, and Martin most of all. He'd like to find a way to warn the elves of the attack so they can move the vulnerable out of harm's way. After all, the goal for the party is to get in to find this flame. "Does anyone know where it might be?"
