Our group is looking for some new adventurers to join our romp through the Sword Coast! Due to real life, several of our original cast have bowed out. Boo! But that means opportunity awaits for some intrepid folks who are looking for an established group to join. Yay!

We have a Genasi Cleric, a Tiefling Rogue, and a Half-elf Bard - looking for two other characters to round out this group
You will be starting at 4th level
We are based out of Phandalin, although your character could start in Neverwinter
We're looking for someone who will commit to posting at least once a day and once a weekend, actively participates, and writes more than one-liners
I run a game fun for all levels - adults and teens (so PG13)
Recruitment lasts to 4:00 PM Sunday (U.S. East Coast time). Choices made by the group that night and announced by Monday evening.

Harukai is a soft-spoken healer who is more comfortable out in the woods gathering herbs than speaking in front of large groups. With his trusty staff and healer's satchel, he has been known to help anyone in need of medicine without offer of repayment. A dusky-skinned human male, Harukai is rather unassuming--that is, until he gets into a fight! His simple walking stick becomes a whirling weapon of power and his punches and kicks land heavily on unlucky foes. (Variant Human Monk, Sun Soul. Hermit with the Healer feat.)
Character background and experience - how they got to 4th level
Harukai traveled far from his home monastery to the city of Neverwinter, where he found himself in need of coin to buy necessities. He joined a group of caravan guards on the way to Phandalin, looking to meet the dwarf Gundren, when they stumbled into a mess of goblinoids and more nefarious beings looking to twist the Phandelver mines to their own evil uses. Eventually helping to save the town, Harukai settled there and opened up his own monastery, the better to help the townsfolk learn to defend themselves if they were attacked again. (Yes, this is a PBP character I played through the Mines of Phandelver on these boards last year -- https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/play-by-post/29418-lost-mines-of-phandelver-with-kryptikk81?comment=3 . His main magic item was a fairly powerful staff, and he used his Sun Soul abilities as his ranged attacks, but unless you have content sharing, I will need to tweak the character to something available in the PHB).
Tell us something about yourself - why should we pick you for our group?
I play in several games, and I post regularly. I try to work as part of a team and draw the other players into the story, and I have fun--especially with a monk--describing combat moves with a blend of weapon and martial arts flair. Feel free to take a look at the above link if you want to see some of Harukai's previous adventures.

Gerrard Feldren - Human Noble in Ghosts of Saltmarsh
Kerric Brightblade - Elven Warrior in "Apocalypse"
My character's name is Himiko. She is a humble human, twenty one years of age. She was raised in a sort of secluded farming village, though the village's pride and joy was a dojo that took in only a handful of the local children and turned them into warriors or adventurers that everyone from the village is proud to sing the praises of. Himiko was one of the selected few and underwent training. She is well versed in the ways of the blade, but also in those of art and social elegance (Samurai Fighter 3, Monk 1. Gonna go Kensei in Monk). When it comes to specialties, when it combat she prefers to wield a varied combination of blade and fist, though she is most often seen wielding a katana in each hand. Outside of battle, she has been trained to be perceptive in social situations (Insight), when surveying a situation (Perception), and even find things that may be hidden (Investigation). She has a way with words and is capable of reading situations to either convince someone that her way is the right way (Persuasion). Though this is not always with her silver tongue, at times force is required (Intimidation). Her martial training has also increased her physicality, allowing her to perform feats of athleticism with more ease (Athletics).
Himiko was raised as a soldier, but her sensei had always told her about the importance of travelling one's own path and making your way through the world as you see fit. So when she had completed her training at the dojo, she packed a sack and set out from her small village. She has aspirations of returning one day, but not until she has had multiple adventures worth bragging about. In the few years since she has left, she has taken up jobs as hired muscle for the most part, whether an extra blade on a small excursion or a guard for a visiting diplomat, her countenance and professionalism has made sure that she is never far from a job. She has collected a bit of experience, gold and treasures along the way and stories for anyone with an ear to hear them.
As for me, I don't really know what to say lol. Talking myself up isn't a strong suite. I love roleplaying, and I tend to get caught up in writing and get a little more descriptive and indepth than I meant to (like above; that was only meant to be 4 or 5 sentences XD). I've got about 10 years experience with rping, though I've only recently gotten into D&D. And uh...I'm really fun? And friendly? And plz I really wanna use Himiko q.q
I'm always down for a romp around the Coast~ And I post pretty often, and nearly never 1 sentence ^^ Go check my history for examples.
I've never tried a Paladin, so that sounds like it could be fun to see how they play.
Thufir, a Dragonborn, was taken from his creche as an egg, and traded around as a pet for the first few years of his life, generally by less-than-savory people, so he got to see how bad people can be. When he was still an adolescent though, he was traded for by an older human gentleman who took him back to his keep, and taught him the ways of battle, as well as how to commune with the gods ((still looking through which god(s) will be a good match)). Once he was deemed ready, his benefactor started to allow Thufir to ride with him gaining experience, and seeing more of the world; both the good and bad.
One night the two were traveling and ambushed by bandits, though they fought, and defeated the bandits, Thufir had been unable to defend his Knight from grave injuries. Sweating an oath of vengeance he vowed to live a life as he was taught, and defend those who, like he at a young age, are not able to defend themselves, regardless of the cost.
As a player, though I tend to build characters to be effective, I'm not afraid of making decisions that are less than optimal if it makes for a better story, or more RP. RP > Combat > Exploration, though all are fun ^^ I'm also glad to see you use PB and not rolling, as that often leads to large power imbalances. I can do the rolls for items and add gear later if chosen. Thanks!
Describe your character, including race & class (with archetype/specialty):
Human variant, paladin (of vengeance), background sailor
Character background and experience - how they got to 4th level
The concept is that of Ulysses: a smart hero forged in war (that's how he got to level4) and roaming ever since. With some gods with him and at least one against, for some obscure reason
Tell us something about yourself - why should we pick you for our group?
From Italy. Able to post 2/3 times per day. Please pick me because I never had the chance to play this character through and I'd love it.
Saw your openings and would be keen to join in the campaign. Have a read and see if you think this type of character would be a good fit......
Describe your character, including race & class (with archetype/specialty):
Human variant, Hexblade Warlock
Character background and experience - how they got to 4th level
I am keen to explore playing a damaged and haunted character, and the hexblade provides the opportunity. Conceptually, the character came into his powers as a result of selling his soul to the shadowfell in the hope that he could save his daughter (from some curse or abduction, perhaps to another plane). In return, he must perform tasks on behalf on behalf of the patron, regardless of what they entail, in order to earn the supernatural aid required to bring his daughter back. With this in mind a Chaotic Neutral alignment would be essential, being forced to do whatever is necessary as a means to an end, not in the service of either good or evil. Such a geas give the DM divine right to send the character on tasks regardless of consequence, forcing him to reconcile the cost & benefits from such actions. I envisage the character taking Pact of the Blade and Polearm Master to push down a spell slinger fighter route, clad in half-plate, throwing eldritch blasts & hexes as he wades right into melee with his halberd swinging. The character has already completed a number of tasks, growing in skill and power over the journey

I live in Australia, can probably post multiple times per day depending on how fast the campaign is running. I grew up playing D&D in the 80's and fantasy worlds, be it in gaming, books or computer games are a favourite hobby that have endured. I have a lot of experience with fantasy role playing and see the Hexblade as a versatile, powerful and somewhat chaotic character to role play. I am looking for a group who are prepared to immerse themselves in the campaign as much as I probably will!
Sev is the creation of Garrett Steelshoes, a gnomish inventor from Lantan. Even for a gnome, Garrett was often considered a little eccentric. He had been prone to nightmares and hallucinations, and his creations often blurred the line between organic and mechanical.
Eventually, an intervention was held for him, with his family and a priest of Gond expressing concern for him and his unnatural design aesthetic. Garrett agreed to stop, but the visions and hallucinations grew worse. He had to get far away from his home. Perhaps he could find peace or answers in a foreign city.
Fate (or what he thought was fate) brought Garrett to Neverwinter, where he continued his research despite his best intentions. He crafted six unnatural automatons but none put him at ease. On a night when Selune was dark in the sky, he drew up the plans for the seventh.
When Sev awoke, a dark peace washed over Garrett. The visions and nightmares were gone - replaced by an inexorable, alien calling from far beneath Neverwinter. Sev saw the irrationality of his creator, but was powerless to help him. After teaching Sev what little he needed, Garrett vanished.
Sev studied Garrett's notes before starting his own 'life.'. Needing funds and practical tests of his arcanomechanical designs, Sev began to take on small tasks - eliminating a colony of giant rats, driving out a goblin infestation, and the like.
His most difficult days so far came when a cult came to collect Garrett's notes and research. The Listeners of the Revelation, as they called themselves, were persistent and murderous. Though they wanted Sev alive, they had a loose understanding of what alive meant for him.
Knowing he couldn't face them alone, and taking some cues from his own design, Sev created Alph, a steel defender, and struck back. It was the first time he shed humanoid blood - and it won't be the last. He still hasn't processed how he feels about it. But he knows it is time to move on. That wasn't the end of the Listeners, and certain other unnamed parties are taking an interest in the Automaton with independence.
What makes me so special? My aunties say I am? I also create every character specifically for the game I am interested in. Though I have a certain style, none of my characters are just exports from someone else's campaign. A pet peeve of mine is watching someone try to cram a pre-existing 'OC don't steal' into a world where they don't fit. For Sev, I noticed that despite a pretty conservative list of allowed material, Eberron was on the table. I enjoyed tackling that and thinking about how a Faerunian warforged night happen. I also created him with an eye towards party composition. The other applicants are melee characters, but I don't know how the cleric fights so I thought the rogue might still appreciate another melee presence for sneak attack activations. You also have a high Charisma arcane spellcaster, so a wizard wouldn't be super necessary. Artificer adds to the team by supplementing it in many ways - a little melee presence, a little tankiness, a little spellcasting - Sev would be a nice patch of sanded spackle in the drywall of the party - not part of the original construction, but nice to have when it gets repainted.
I'm a little tired right now - hence the rambling, so I will close by saying I'm pretty good about sticking with a game until it dies. You can expect at least daily posting. More if I have something meaningful to post.
while I would enjoy joining, you’ve plenty of others looking to get in. I’m in a couple other PBP adventures already, may as well let someone else join.

Kae'blier is an Elf Fighter / Arcane Archer.
Character background and experience - how they got to 4th level
Kae'blier was apprenticed to a master pastry chef until their town was overrun by hungry hordes of Orcs. Kae'blier joined a band who went out seeking revenge. It soon became apparent he had some skills at fighting but he was an artist with the longbow. For a few years the band of avengers held together, hunting and destroying Orcs and their ilk wherever they could flush them out. Eventually though the constant fighting, and inter-team personality conflicts took their toll and the team disbanded. Kae'blier tried to retire back into the life he had known, becoming quite popular for the masterful cookies and pastries he baked... But the fight wasn't out of this Kae'blier elf just yet and he yearned to adventure yet again...

I'm adaptive. I'll be as active posting wise as the group is (working from home half time, the half at work is even more boring so I have plenty of time) and I feel I adapt well to the dynamics of others as well - I can light or heavy on the RP as needed, my tone can adapt to more serious encounters or those that are more light hearted. Length of my posts will vary, sometimes based on how much time I have, whether I am posting from my computer or my phone, but hopefully it will be based on what is called for. I have no problem posting a couple paragraphs when appropriate and called for but I also feel that there are times when a sentence or two is all that is needed. And while I pride myself on going with the flow that doesn't mean I am afraid to stand my ground or take the lead when necessary...
Danactar saw a need for a bounty hunter in the city of Waterdeep
when he found out an android created by his artificers escaped and killed people and worse yet was building more of them android building androids!
He thought this wouldn't do! So he created a bounty hunter guild specifically for the Church of Gond
Miguel jumped at the chance to try out his abilities Though he spent some time in the underdark below the Yawning Porthole he would rather spend time chasing down bots.
One day he received orders for a bounty that led him to Neverwinter

Marle Trueblade, a half-elf eldritch knight, is an easy-going going soul with a taste for adventure and excitement, particularly a good fight. He wanders with his familiar, a hawk named Hyuuri, never staying in one place for a long time once the excitement has settled down, and has left behind a string of friendly acquaintances who have traveled, fought, and shared stories with him along his journeys.
Character background and experience - how they got to 4th level
While out in the woods one teenaged evening of a full moon, Marle and friends were out exploring the woods and stumbled upon a strange sight: beautiful men and women engaged in fantastical skirmish. They flew through the air wielding weapons that looked to have been spun from silver, shooting fire and ice around them. His friends fled, but Marle was drawn towards the scene. When the glade was pulled back into the realm of faerie, he was pulled along with it. He spent the next year and a day there with those strange fey warriors and was taught their martial and magical secrets, joining them in their nightly skirmishes. Alas, mortals are not meant to dwell in Faerie, and eventually he had to leave. Walking through his home village, he found that the idyllic home of his childhood no longer held any attraction to him. The people led drab lives and Marle could not see himself staying there. Without even a greeting to his family or friends, he walked on through the village and out into the larger world, on the hunt for adventure and excitement.
Though born a full-blooded human, his time in Faerie has left Marle marked in mind, body, and spirit. He is physically and mechanically a half-elf.

I'm in it for the role playing, for the awesome scenes, and fun story-telling. I'm looking for a group that is fun-loving and mature (not by age, but by comportment). I work full time, even now, but my job allows me to participate here and there throughout the day, and my PST evenings and weekends generally leave me plenty of time.
• Describe your character, including race & class (with archetype/specialty) You see before you a 3-foot tall halfling female with sandy brown hair and bright green eyes. She is dressed in studded leather armor with a worn but much-loved crossbow slung on her back. In a bright friendly toned with a bit of a southernesqe drawl voice she says, "Hello there, merry meet, my name is Perkas. Perkas Brightmoon to be more precise." She thumbs her nose a few times and rocks back and forth on her heels. "I guess I'm here to inquire about a position with your party. Just a forewarning, I'm not so great with conversation no matter how hard I try, so forgive any 'quirks' I might display." She takes a deep breath, obviously a bit nervous. "I'm a hunter, best known for my crossbow expertise. I prefer to have the higher ground in an outnumbered fight as I'm known to break up a horde of beasts quite well."
• Character background and experience - how they got to 4th level
"How'd I come to be here you ask? Well, now that's quite a tale. The Brightmoons hail from Jalanthar. Little place under the Nether mountains. As I was growing up my papa taught me how to use this thing." she thumbs to her crossbow and smiles. "I helped my family earn money by killin' and skinnin' those animals around The High Forest." She sighs and looks to the floor. "That just wasn't enough for me though. Something inside me said 'Perkas, you need to go....just go', so I did. Must have been the call of wild ya know? Well, anyways I said goodbye to my family and headed on down the trail."
"I followed the River Rauvin over to Everlund. I killed what I needed to survive and whatever thought they could get the better of me on the way. When I got there I tried to get a job doing some more hunting, figuring that's what I do best. I got myself tangled up with a group called the Tathtard's Rose. Yea I think that's who they were...it's been so long ago. Well, I was a youngin' and didn't know much about people and what they can do to ya. I got them their pelts and furs for a year or so before I found out they were outright price-gouging people and not giving me my fair share. So again, I took up my things and headed out of there. I felt ashamed of myself I did. Just shows to go ya, that you can't always trust people ya know?"
"There I was, headed down the trail again, just doing what I do best. Huntin' and killin'... killin' and huntin'" she chuckles to herself a bit. "I made it down there to Yartar, took quite a while it did. I did some more trading of my skills to keep a roof over my head and a bed under my back at night. I went back and forth from there to Triboar for at least a good 5 years before that wanderlust came back to bite me in the rear and I left again."
"Then I got here. Good ol' Phandolin. I settled myself down and made some friends. Doing a little guiding and hunting when the folks around here need it. I've been here a few years and the same old same old is starting to get to me again. I think I need a little adventure this time around." She gives a curt nod and slaps her knee. "I'm hoping my skills can lend some help to your group."
Tell us something about yourself - why should we pick you for our group? Hi there! I'm Jenni. I'm still pretty new to D&D, but I am really excited about it. I've tried to get into a few PBP groups that are pretty slow going (as is the nature of this I suppose) but am really looking to form some good friendships in space where this ok to learn. I don't get out much (especially nowadays) and I would really like to get in with an established group that's solid. I do work full time, but one of the best parts of my day is when I get to make a post, roll some dice, and see what happens. This was a lot of fun just coming up with this character idea and running with it.
Hey guys! I'd love the opportunity to join the game.
Describe your character, including race & class (with archetype/specialty)
Jun Tan is a Shou Human (variant) from the far east. He is a fighter (samurai archetype), with a sage/researcher background. Mixing his time growing up between learning his sword skills and reading through numerous tomes, Jun is a quiet man. He observes and assesses the situation before he jumps into a fight, unless his hand is forced or he sees those unable to protect themselves being threatened.
Character background and experience - how they got to 4th level
Jun has travelled for some time (1-3 years) in search of ancient writings his old master often spoke of. At his master's death, Jun promised he would search tirelessly in order to return the writings to his home. As he had travelled, he fought through many crypts and conversed with various acolytes, his skills as a swordsman continued to grow (to level 4). As yet, he has not been able to find the illusive texts.
Tell us something about yourself - why should we pick you for our group?
I'm reasonably new to D&D, however I've been jumping into DM-ing and playing as much as I can. I enjoy trying to make characters that are not conventional mixes of class/race/background - both to challenge myself and to create interesting roleplaying elements. I'm based in Brisbane, Australia, however I try to post as much as I can between 5am-7pm AEST (3pm-5am EST).
Definitely interested! Good luck with the selection and have a fun campaign!
Name: Ironwood
Race: Warforged
Class: Paladin (Oath of the Ancients)
Backstory:
Constructed to serve as the steward of some unremarkable noble house, Ironwood was no stranger to cruelty. His masters took him as nothing more than a tool, abusing him for their entertainment. It was not until Ironwood met Lady Greylock that he met any kindness. An aging relative of his masters, Lady Greylock came to Ironwood's keep to live out her elder years in peace. She became so fascinated with Ironwood, metal made live, that she insisted on his company as she tended her gardens every afternoon. Years passed while they spent every afternoon together, Lady Greylock teaching Ironwood to tend the garden, sharing stories of her life. When age finally took Lady Greylock, Ironwood made a choice. Affixing a giant oaken plank to the left part of his chest, he took an oath to protect and preserve that nature the Lady Greylock taught him to love. As his masters slept, Ironwood stole simple arms from the house armory and crept from his keep. He set out into the wilds, with no real plans save to care for these lands as Lady Greylock cared for him.
How Ironwood got to level 4:
After setting out on his own Ironwood soon found himself in the company of a band of roaming dryads. They taught him of their dryad ways and gave him shelter in exchange for his protection. Together they traveled, restoring desecrated natural sites throughout the Forgotten Realms and fighting back the evils that claimed them. Months passed in this way until Ironwood decided he needed to set out on his own once again, heading for The Sword Coast to seek the guidance of a powerful druid named Reidoth.
About myself:
I'm a relatively new 5e player, I've played in a couple one shots but I've mostly been DMing for a group of my friends online using Roll20/Discord. Beyond DnD I've been playing CRPGs for years and get really excited about lore and settings. I'm definitely a bit of a sci-fi/fantasy junky, some of my favorite books/games are: The Malazan series, Pillars of Eternity, House of Suns, and Hyperion. I'd like to think I'm fairly agreeable and easy to get along with, I want to make sure this campaign is shared for everyone and not just about one person in particular. I'm located in California, so PST timezone. With my work recently shifting to full-time remote I can definitely post multiple times a day on weekdays and at least once a day on weekends.
I’ll start with why I would appreciate being picked. I have been a fan of the Forgotten Realms since I picked up my first realms novel in high school, over 15 years ago. Unfortunately I grew up in a very rural area with no friends who shared my fantastical interests and a highly evangelical mother who believed such things were demonic. The. I got married, had kids, started a career and I didn’t even have the time to wish I could somehow find a way to play.
Recently though my kids have gotten old enough to be interested and try playing with me. We have run through Phandelver (me dm’ing, them playing) and plan on trying out Dragon Heist next month. I would love a chance to get to play on my own here, both to just have the chance to play and to not dm. I have roleplayed before on other sites, although not in anything with an actual system, just the writers’ imaginations.
I am home quarantining right now and quite active online throughout the day so I have no worries about being available or jumping in. So without further ado, my character concept;
Thordrin Hardhand
Throdrin is a young dwarf out looking to carve out a name for himself. He’s still a young dwarf (only 55), but knows that there is no time like the present to make your mark on the world. He hopes his fists and his fury will help him to do so.
Raised in Citadel Adbar, Throdrin always dreamed of joining the Wilddwarf Brigade, the famous battleragers that protected his home. He trained hard and had just been accepted into the ranks when disaster struck. During the War of the Silver Marches, Adbar’s forces were lured into an ambush and their forces decimated, their king killed.
One of the few warriors to survive that day, many believe he fought his way free of the carnage due to his natural prowess. It is his secret shame that he broke and ran when the enemy forces overwhelmed the Dwarven lines. He now uses that shame to fuel his rage, adventuring and fighting the evils of the world to clear his conscience. His experience in training, battle, and events in Phandelver have already given him some skill with which to further his goals.

Kelnan is a bookish professor of history and magic. He loves to teach his students, but is also the type of researcher who will get a little too far into books he probably shouldn't. He is more likely to shut down an opponent in combat than blow them up, but he can blast away in a pinch (High Elf Wizard, Abjuration)
Character background and experience - how they got to 4th level
Kelnan is currently on sabbatical from his teaching position (could be in Neverwinter) and is roaming the countryside looking for folktales, hints to hidden histories and artifacts, and making some money in the process, most of which will go into expanding his library. He has been through some close scrapes in his travels and discovered a love of the excitement of field work.

I'm a long time pen and paper RPG player and currently play and run in a couple of live D&D games. My favorite part of the game is living in a character and figuring out what makes them tick. I recently finished a PBP one shot and had a great time and usually check in several times a day.

Zeru Blackwood: Battlemaster Fighter, Variant Human w/ Dual Wielder Feat
Zeru is a lean, nasty fighter with an unusual penchant for speed and combat efficiency. Some have even whispered that their must be something magical about his abilities, but that's not been proven out--yet. Approaching middle-age, his experience, skill and speed allow him to keep up with younger fighters, and even best them if they let their guard slip. His trademark is fighting with two rapiers at once, usually named ones (he has a somewhat odd habit of naming all his weapons.) Mechanically, he's a DEX-based fighter, of the Battlemaster archetype to reflect his broad fighting experience, and with the Mercenary Veteran background. I intend to stick to the Fighter class throughout his development, although he may pick up a Magic Initiate feat along the way.
Character background and experience - how they got to 4th level
Mercenary Veteran: As a former sell-sword from Neverwinter, Zeru joined the trade young, thinking himself a tough guy after running away from home and making it on the streets for a few weeks. After nearly getting killed, a couple of the other mercs who saw his potential took to training him. Now, after years of combat, he's decided to have some fun (well, HE considers it fun) and go adventuring before settling down. He's already been on a few successful tasks, and he intends to continue for as long as it suits him--he's certainly not going to be able to retire on a pension, after all.
Tell us something about yourself - why should we pick you for our group?
Well, hopefully I'll describe myself a bit and I'll just be one of the two best picks... that'd be the ideal reason. So here's a bullet-point list of relevant qualifications:
I have over a decade of experience playing & DMing RPGs now, primarily M&M and D&D, although D&D for only the last 3 years or so. I've been doing PbP for most of that time.
I think I strike a good balance between being story-oriented and game-focused (even if there's an unapologetic slight lean toward playing as a game.)
I've tried to design a character to fill the holes in your current party--a straight damage-dealing melee fighter seems like it fills some crucial ones.
I do have other current campaigns IRL, but I should still be able to post AT LEAST daily, ideally several times in the evenings. (Central Time, USA)
I hate drama.
Lastly... well, I enjoy D&D, and playing with a fun group, alongside cool adventure characters. I'm eager to have fun with this group too.
"What are you looking at? Never seen a half-orc before? Like your teeth where they are? Then keep walking hun."
Asha is a LN (Follows the laws of nature and the jungle, is still learning about civilized laws but like the order they offer) half-orc barbarian moon druid.
Background:
Growing up among her orc tribe, Arasha (Asha) was often looked down upon for her half-blooded nature. As she was constantly beaten and push around by the larger orc kids, she lashed out at the rest of the world. Although she was only half-orc, she had more than enough of Gurmash’s blood. Her rage filled fights with other kids often left them broken and bloodied. One day the chieftain’s son decided to pick a fight with her. He drew a knife and Asha saw red. The next thing she knew, the young orc lay in the dirt in a pool of his blood and she held his knife. Knowing that the chieftain would have her head for the killing of his son, Asha fled. She ran north into the Neverwinter Woods. Hiding in the woods she found it calming to not constantly be at war with the world and her tribe. She slept under the trees and watched the animals at play. She watched the terrifying rage of a mother bear defending her child against a troll. She found the animals did not care that she was a half-blood. They respected her strength and she respected theirs. One day, while stalking a deer, she stumbled upon a small cottage in the woods. There she met Kavallan, a halfling druid. He took her in and taught her the ways of druidic magic. Together they watched the forest, not protecting it, for the wilds are more than strong enough to protect themselves. They simply watched and learned from the wilds. One day Kavallan failed to return from a journey to the southern woods. She followed his trail and found his body on the pike of her former chieftain. She followed the orcs back to their camp. That night the orcs learned the power of nature as Asha and the animals Kavallan had befriended fell upon the camp. When the sun rose, Asha stood alone in the camp holding the knife that had begun her journey. Looking out at the dawn, she decided that she would leave the forest and find a place in the world for herself.
About me:
I have been playing D&D for over 8 years, have decent play by post experience and am very active. I enjoy playing simple characters who develop strong bonds with the party and exploring the world. Yes I am addicted to making druid characters. I have enjoyed playing with you and would love the chance to see how you dm and meet more awesome people. The only game set in Forgotten Realms is Dragon of Icespine Peak and my character reflects this. She wants to see the world just like I do. Cheers friend, hope you find two people (Hopefully me and someone else) and the campaign continues to be great.
Thanks for the amazing entries so far. There are about 25 hours left if anybody else wants to throw their hat in the ring! The recruitment ends tomorrow (Sunday) at noon Eastern US timezone.

Manny Greenbottle is a stout halfling monk (Way of the Sun Soul)
Character background and experience - how they got to 4th level
Manny's family were part of a travelling caravan - tinkers, merchants and entertainers. Attacked one night by a master vampire and his servants, in search of a relic that the caravan master had acquired. His family and the rest of the caravan were massacred, while he was safely hidden in a secret compartment in his parent's wagon - pushed there by his parents as the attack started. He couldn't see out, but he was forced to hear the screams for what seemed like hours. Part of him is still inside that box, still hearing the screams of his parents.
He was found shortly after dawn by a travelling group of monks (followers of Ilmater), travelling between temples. They stopped to bury the dead, and on hearing his sobbing - which he could no longer keep silent - took him away from that place. Having no other family, they adopted him into the temple, raising him and training him in their ways. His focus in training was always to become strong enough to seek out the darkness that stole away his family, and to destroy it - this lead to him leaving the temple when old enough, to see out whatever information he could find that would support this quest. This led, in time, to his training at a temple dedicated to Lathander, Lord of the Dawn. Here he learned to harness the radiant power of Lathander, a valuable tool in his ongoing crusade against the undead in general, and in search of a certain vampire in particular.
Tell us something about yourself - why should we pick you for our group?
I've been away from role playing for a number of years (AD&D 2nd edition!), but I've recently started playing, and DMing, again. I'm articulate, considerate for my fellow players and make a good effort to understand the motivations and personality of my characters.

Baelitae Silvaranth is an Eladrin monk (way of the Open Hand)
Character background and experience - how they got to 4th level
Baelitae grew up in an isolated monastery in the Feywild, spending most of her 200-something years in study and training. She is intimately familiar with the Feywild and most of its inhabitants, and skilled in combat, but rather socially inept and aloof. She is very quiet for an eladrin, spending most of her time in a season-neutral form, and is still learning about the people of the material plane. Baelitae is a peacemaker by heart, and almost never raises her voice or loses her temper.

I'm a relatively new player who started with 5e, and i've been looking to play a lot more. This account was a godsend, as i'm able to find games easily and play to my heart's content. I'm great at, and enjoy, roleplaying my characters according to their personality traits and flaws, as well at resolving conflicts between other players.

Our group is looking for some new adventurers to join our romp through the Sword Coast! Due to real life, several of our original cast have bowed out. Boo! But that means opportunity awaits for some intrepid folks who are looking for an established group to join. Yay!

Interested? Please provide the following for consideration. If selected, you can roll up the character later.
If selected, please create a character with the following guidelines:
Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
Harukai is a soft-spoken healer who is more comfortable out in the woods gathering herbs than speaking in front of large groups. With his trusty staff and healer's satchel, he has been known to help anyone in need of medicine without offer of repayment. A dusky-skinned human male, Harukai is rather unassuming--that is, until he gets into a fight! His simple walking stick becomes a whirling weapon of power and his punches and kicks land heavily on unlucky foes. (Variant Human Monk, Sun Soul. Hermit with the Healer feat.)
Hello! I'm interested in joining your party o3o
Thanks!

The concept is that of Ulysses: a smart hero forged in war (that's how he got to level4) and roaming ever since. With some gods with him and at least one against, for some obscure reason
From Italy. Able to post 2/3 times per day. Please pick me because I never had the chance to play this character through and I'd love it.
Hi,
Saw your openings and would be keen to join in the campaign. Have a read and see if you think this type of character would be a good fit......
Human variant, Hexblade Warlock
Have attached a current 3rd level version of the character I have suggested, see what you think... Girx - Human Variant Hexblade Warlock

Warforged? In MY Forgotten Realms? (Backstory)
If selected, here's the tentative sheet: https://ddb.ac/characters/28976525/IMnboh
I won't roll for magic items unless the group likes what they see.
Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
Disregard...
while I would enjoy joining, you’ve plenty of others looking to get in. I’m in a couple other PBP adventures already, may as well let someone else join.
Kae'blier is an Elf Fighter / Arcane Archer.

Describe your character, including race & class (with archetype/specialty)

• Describe your character, including race & class (with archetype/specialty)
You see before you a 3-foot tall halfling female with sandy brown hair and bright green eyes.

Hi there!

I am home quarantining right now and quite active online throughout the day so I have no worries about being available or jumping in. So without further ado, my character concept;
Mountain Dwarf Battlerager Barbarian with Soldier Background
Kelnan is a bookish professor of history and magic. He loves to teach his students, but is also the type of researcher who will get a little too far into books he probably shouldn't. He is more likely to shut down an opponent in combat than blow them up, but he can blast away in a pinch (High Elf Wizard, Abjuration)
Here's the pic I found that really exemplifies the character: https://imgur.com/a/TGnaaTX
Well, hopefully I'll describe myself a bit and I'll just be one of the two best picks... that'd be the ideal reason. So here's a bullet-point list of relevant qualifications:

Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
Manny Greenbottle is a stout halfling monk (Way of the Sun Soul)
