"If we are still just floating above their lair, perhaps it is time to take the fight to them. To show them that we are not to be trifled with for no reason."Leto says, clearly a bit angry that their captive was so easily able to escape.
A look of resolve comes over the giant's face, but then a radiant light settles over them, and a look of rapture replaces the resolve. The giant disappears in a swirl of light, and is gone.

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
"Well, do we have a way of knowing if there are more, without spending a lot of time on it?" Honor turns to look and see if she can spot Emmy. If it looks like she's in range, she'll use Message to let her know that the giant got away, and ask if she sees any other creatures.
Palvin Palvin nods to Naivara. "Doesn't seem to bode well." He agrees. He swivels his head around, making sure nothing is coming their way, but sees only open sky around.
ymephis "Unless you have a desire to attack the giants mistress, I would suggest we move on." The Song dragon speaks into Naivarah's ear. "Put some distance between us and their home area, and we shouldn't have to worry about those particular storm giants any longer."
iveodaenth Floats nearby in cloud form.
yrsaintinth Continues to be a statue near Leto. He doesn't even twitch as Fraty taps him on the shoulder, which seems to amuse her greatly.
Piazet Moves back into the main keep. He lets Latrius know he is making sure that the controls are in good order and that they continue to head in the direction wished.
Fraty Moves to the edge of the cloud, in human form, then simply steps off, falling out of sight.
Chysen "Do you think she will remember to change into dragon form before she hits the water?" Chysen asks, eyeing where the Chaos dragon just disappeared over the edge of the cloud. He sighs and glances to Kierro. "I do not see a reason to poke these giants in their home. If you wish it, then it will be done, but I believe our destination is still some distance away."
Emmy Is definitly close enough, at least at points, so gets the message. "I haven't seen anything." She sends back in response, the words almost too-fast to catch. "I'll swoop under the castle and have a look..." She wheels up a moment later holding Fraty in her claws. She deposits the grinning Chaos dragon onto the cloud land around the castle.
Zambunth Stands stoicly nearby, listening and watching, but not making any comments himself.
Higgul "Well, are we continuing then?" Higgul asks, glancing around. "I'll be in one of the rooms, taking a nap. Don't wake me for the next battle, unless it is something I can hit with my sword." He gives a huff and strides away, heading towards the tower he has a room in.
Morgan "Too bad." He says to Leto with a sigh. "Maybe next time huh?" With a glance to Higgil he shrugs and turns back to Leto. "Do you think there is anything to eat in the castle? I think ymephis made enough for breakfast that there should be some leftovers anyway..."
Leon Stares at the place the giant disappeared, then gives the Incarnum dragon a nod. Turning he strides away, heading towards the main keep.
Kierro takes a step back as the giant dissapears, shaking his head in sorrow. He returns to the rest of the group, turning to Chysen as he asks his question. "It's likely that the particular giant is not in their lair, and that several more would be waiting when we arrive, within their lair no less. There's no point to a pursuit."
Though his expression remains stoic, there is a clear sense of discomfort in the aasimar's voice. "I can't begin to understand this... how to feel. No provocation, no indication of why they attacked... nothing that could convince them to stop. It's painful. And the situation with the storms over us is the same - no indication as to why." he says glumly, though the arrival of Emmy with Fratty in tow puts a brief smile on his face.
"We should continue onward in the meantime." Kierro says, taking a moment to sit on the front steps of the main tower, watching the sky.
"If it is the gods I'm not sure there's much we can do besides keep a constant eye out, and increase our weaponry. I don't want to fight gods, but I'm not going to let them chase me from plane to plane. Something enabled us to come here, and I want to know what."
“My dragon can scry on them, but i don’t know how much good that will do us. It may be worth a shot.” Nadariel adds. “In the meanwhile we may as well keep on moving. But i would suggest we increase the sentries.”
"And does the castle have ranged weapons -- ballistae or bows of any sort? If not, possibly someone could make a trip to acquire some before we're much further away from land. Or the supplies to make them."
Caradran doesn't respond to Honor and the others at this point. The dragonborn just shakes her head and heads back to the castle. If the others want to worry so much about the harmless threats that they were facing, then they were free to, but she wouldn't spend another ounce of thought on it.

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
“It has ballistae,” Kierro replies to Honor, pointing to each of them, one at each tower. “Though I believe the firing slits for each face the sides and aft of the castle, and are blind from the front. Perhaps allowing them to view and fire forward would allow them to be of more help should the need arise - it should be a simple matter of making slit-sized holes in each wall of the tower.
Yes there are balista ports on the rear and sides of the towers. Each tower has a supply of balista bolts as well. I did not think of this before, but there would also likely be catapults atop the keep and both towers, which could be swivveled to point in various directions. You would have to get a group that knew how to fire them though, as I don't believe any of you would be considered proficient in their use.
With this, we can say Ing, when in Giant Ape form, just picked up one of the boulders from a catapult station, instead of ripping something off of the tower itself.
The castle continues on its course, the Axial dragon now back at the navigation station.
Chysen, moves to the front of the cloud-land, standing at the edge. He takes up a guardsman's stance, keeping watch forward as the castle flies through the sky.
Emmy comes in to land, morphing back into her lythe human form. She walks towards Honor with a skip in her step, clearly having fun. "No sign of any more play toys around." She says. "What..." She is cut off as Fraty tackles her from the side, the two rolling across the cloud-ground of the flying castle. They are both laughing as they tussle though, obviously not truly fighting as much as playing around.
Leon and his Githyanki warriors gather on top of the main keep, then he casts a spell, and they all disappear. [Tooltip Not Found]
Zambunth stays by Latrius's side.
Morgan heads inside, looking for some of the leftovers from breakfast. The Stone dragon stays right where he was, looking more like a statue than ever, as they remain rooted to the same spot on the flying island's cloud-land.
Please feel free to role play anything you wish. I'll move along to the next thing once you are all ready for it. I don't want to make this just a jump from encounter to encounter as you travel towards the items, but will move things along when/if RP is slow or you all let me know you are ready.
(I’d assume it’s a few days worth of free time, let me know if I’m wrong)
Kierro swaps off with Chysen on watch duty, giving him time to rest. Between helping out with that and meditating, he generally spends his time in the common/main area of the castle, talking with some of the others.
It’s late one night that Kierro sets a book down beside him and looks around at the other dragonlords. “All of you I know, naturally, but what about the people who followed you. Back in our world. What sorts of people were they?” he asks. Some he knew a bit about, others not so much.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Caradran grins, "There is no point in my lying to you anymore. So I suppose I could tell you that my followers didn't exist. If they did, then they were only the followers of my followers. Other than that, I accepted almost anyone into my ranks if they were able to prove themselves useful." Caradran looks around at the others with their head cocked to the side and listens carefully to their responses.
Yes, it is several days of travel before you face anything that can actually get to you. I'll explain this further in my next IC post, but am going to let the current RP continue for a bit, and see when you are ready to move onward.
Honor and Higgul will spend time working with the ballista and cannons, so that Higgul will have options during the next fight. Honor will also work on making a harness of some sort so that she can go patrolling with Emmy. She'll also probably spend some time having to deal with Professor Murnik exploring the castle and possibly getting chased after by Emmy and Fraty and an ensuing shouting match and him going extremely proper and affronted.
Honor leans back at Kierro's question. "Warriors, mostly. Fighters, military or not. Adventurers also -- people looking for a cause, or who'd found a cause and realized someone needed to fight for it."
"I didn't really want them to follow," Naivara says, "they just sort of did. I just wanted balance in the world, make sure that development didn't swallow up the nature around us. Look where that go me," she adds, bitterly.
"The thing is, working for balance and for nature isn't what made all this happen," Kierro replies to Naivara. "It's very important work that the world would have suffered without. The gods of our world turned from all of us dragonlords, regardless of what we did. Ones such as you and I who worked to change Exandria for the better. Ones who used their talent for unspeakable evils. Even those who had lived quiet lives, not using their powers at all." He says solemnly. "Every one of us. Being a dragonlord or not isn't something any of us can control; there's no reason to put oneself down because of it."
He sighs as he reminisces on his own past. "As for me? So many people I've met... running across the entire spectrum of society. Some in my diplomatic efforts, or people in need that I've been able to help. Many, many who worshipped Pelor as I did. I don't remember what happened with them after Pelor left me - that's where my memory cuts off."
