Perhaps its the distance, or the well thought out attack plan, but all of the parties attacks miss as they break from cover and charge towards the beast.
The Chimera, swivels around, and seeing the source of the attacks charges towards you the lion's head bellowing in rage.
Party actions are up. Chimera is now about 60 feet away.
Areus takes from his pack two other javelins from his pack and charging the Chimera throws them in rapid succession aiming them at the lion's head. "Hopefully this should create an opening for the others." thinks the hoplite as he throws the javelins.
Movement 30ft towards the Chimera
Javelin Attack: 24 Damage: 11
Javelin Attack: 21 Damage: 15
Battle Manouver Distracting strike on the second attack, if it hits the next attack on the Chimera is done with advantage
Tisto starts bouncing a warbling ball of energy in his hands and then flings it Chaos Bolt Attack: 27 Damage: 13 {Force} at the creature
Wild magic roll = 4
Initiative = 25
As the winds of magic buffet the creature's lion head Tisto looks up in the sky and mutters "if you lot were really on our side instead of just playing games you'd consider each head to be a different creature!"
Tisto sends a bolt of energy slamming into the charging Chimera as Areus runs forward and throws a couple more javelins, this time with better accuracy, and they both strike the creature!
Soren is up
the next attack on the Chimera is done with advantage
Soren closes his eyes, and for a second nothing happens. Suddenly, the sand at his feet dampens, and a crashing noise sounds. The sand erupts around him as a geyser forms around him, then coalesces around his body like armour. Roaring, he charges to support Areus's flank, jabbing out with his long blade.
Attack: 17 Damage: 12 with an extra 16 damage if it hits. The chimera is also pushed 10 feet away from the Minotaur. If it hits and object it takes another 4 damage.

The Chimera continues to run forward, getting in range of Soren who's ready to face the creature! He slashes his blade across the creatures side as he also slams into it knocking it back 10 feet.
Callaphe and Saya are up
Tisto, Areus, Soren, Chimera (67), Callaphe, Saya
Soren
When you use special actions please put them in parentheses or at the end of your narrative so I know you use a bonus action of Channel Divinity and cast a Divine Smite as I figure you are doing. That way I don't have to check you sheet to try and figure out what you all pieced together.
Saya will charge at the beast with her lance, and try to stab the creature with it. (Saya ends 5 feet from the Chimera)
Lance Attack: 16 Damage: 8

Callaphe moves so that she's within shooting distance of the Chimera, around 50 feet, before loosing an arrow at it. As she does so, a nearly-invisible mark appears on the creature, giving her a distinct advantage on the creature. Callaphe smiles and silents thanks Nelea for this blessing, regardless if the arrow hits or not.
Saya charges the creature, Tisto holding on for dear life and questioning if riding a centaur as it charges into battle is such a great idea. He lance slams into the Chimera as an arrow whistles past from Callpahe's bow and strikes the creature in the neck The monster falls to the ground from the onslaught, dead at Saya and Soren's feet.
You hear the minotaur moan in pain as the canyon grows quiet after the echoes of battle fade away.
Saya removes the lance from the dead chimera, and makes a small prayer to heal the minotaur. (Saya castsHealing Word 2nd lvl: 6) She will keep her distance for now. “We mean you no harm.” She speaks in their language.
(OCC: I forgot Saya speaks Minotaur. Thanks GoodBovine.)

Areus, while still keeping his distance from the minotaur, walks next to Saya. He recovers his javelins from the Chimera's body and then turns towards the minotaur. "I am Areus of Akros, and as my companion said, we mean no harm. I have however a few questions, who are you and what were you doing in this part of the Plains?" asks in their language.
The minotaur, strengthened by Saya's healing, sits up and looks at the group. He then slowly gets to his feet.
"Thank you. My name is Gundak. I was with a small scouting party of my family, the Goldust. We were attacked by members of the Felhide family and they defeated us and stole a relic I wish returned to me. I managed to escape their attack and fled into this canyon and nearly succumbed to my injuries when that Chimera found me. I could not fight it off and thought I was dead until you came along. Help me and you will have the favor and trust of the Goldust family. These are hard lands and we can help you. You have inadvertently entered the edges of the Plains of Strife and you cannot leave. If you turned around and tried to leave this canyon red lightning would strike you dead. This is the will of the god Mogis."
"The Gods have brought us here as we have business within the Plains, Gundak of the Goldust family. If those Felhide stole a relic from you, they may have something that we are also seeking." replies in minotaur Areus to Gundak "Do you speak Common? Not all of my companions speak your language." Areus quickly translates what the minotaur has said and asks "It is probably a long shot, but maybe, we could find information about the item we seek from that Felhide family. If not we will have gained an ally that could help us searching for it. If you all agree, I say that we help this minotaur getting back his relic." he pauses for a moment before saying "Do not worry about the red lightning, we will be able to leave the canyon as soon as we are done."
Soren looks at Areus with an incredulous expression "Sorry, red lightning? Where did that come from? Is that what he said? (turning to the minotaur) Is that what you said? "
