Callaphe sighs and pulls out a torch of her own. She lights it, and sets about going to look around this place. "This might be what you were looking for."

"Yes, I think that we have found the old temple." says Areus looking at the friezes and at the altar. "The mask or the other fragments should be near." The hoplite focuses his gaze looking at the walls and the rubble checking for oozes and other creatures (Perception21) as he slowly walks near the altar. He checks then the altar (Investigation10)
Looking around the room the altar has been crushed by debris that fell from the ceiling but it doesn't seem to have help anything of value.
Soren and Tisto aren't paying much attention to what they are doing and they both don't notice the floor under their feet isn't perfectly stable and it begins to crumble.
Tisto, a bit more aware of what is goin on now, moves quickly to the side as part of the floor where he just stood starts to crumble and collapse below him. However Soren isn't so quick and he falls 20 feet down into a pit that opens up in the floor. He takes 6 in damage from the fall and is now stuck at the bottom of the pit. The rock walls of the pit are jagged.
"Allow me to help you Callaphe, Soren is heavy." says Areus to Callaphe preparing himself to pull up Soren. "We have to be careful, the earthquakes have damaged thisplace."
"As we are all together, let's examine those doors."
"Well that was fun"Tisto laughs as he regains his balance. He looks down into the pit and says "Soren my man what are you doing down there. Don't go anywhere I'll get help." He calls to the others "ummm Soren has had a bit of an accident. Can somebody get him out . I don't really think he wants to stay there?"
Between Callaphe and Areus you are able to pull Soren out of the pit. After he dusts himself off and gathers himself you move to the door at the far end of the room Looking at the door, Areus sees nothing of particular interest and with a push he is able to open the door.
Ahead the next room disappears into darkness. The flicker of your torches allows you to see that the room is about 30 feet wide and the ceiling 10 feet high. Past the dim light of your torches the room continues to an unknown length. Statues, chests, furniture, and ornate weapons and armor clutter the room, most of the pieces have fallen or have been smashed, though an occasional statue is still proudly standing. The clutter forms a labyrinth, and from deep within it, something growls.
"Finding the mask or some fragments may be hard within this clutter" says Areus taking a few steps in. The hoplite will look for torches on the walls and if he finds them he will lit them up."At least by lighting our way we will not get lost." As he hears the growl, "Something or someone lives down here, let's be careful as we proceed further." Areus waits for the rest of the group and proceeds further inside paying attention to his surrounding and to any noise. (Perception9)
"A beast of some kind or an angry minotaur, but probably a beast. Prepare yourself for battle Tisto." replies Areus. The hoplite changes the grip on his shield and enters into a defensive stance. "Are you all ready to advance? I will take point, be ready for anything."

Making your way deeper into the room you cross over, through and around the clutter left in the room. The going is slow as the terrain is difficult to cross due to the mess left behind in the room. Something of a path can be found, as if something has stalked this room for sometime, but it is still mazelike. The light of your torches flickers in reflection on old armor and arms but nothing seems serviceable. Everything looks like it has spent centuries underground.
You make it about halfway through the room and by the light of your torches you can see the room is about 100 feet long. Darkness shrouds the place you entered as the far wall starts to come into view. Movement to your right catches your attention and you see the shape of a large lion climb onto a pile of fallen debris. As you turn to look at it, your torchlight allows a better look.
Twice the size of normal lions and with a resplendent manef of silvery hair, a fleecemane lion steps into view!

Soren grins up at Callaphe ruefully. "it is true. I am not light. I think I twisted my ankle. I can walk, but gods it hurts"
he places his hand on the injury, and slightly reduces the swelling (lay on hands for 5 hp)
