Swallowing his mouthful, Chen then suggests: What if we started dismantling the teleportation circle? That would either force her to come out and confront us or trap her inside.
"Interesting thought," Fianna said slowly, letting the idea percolate...
"P'tah!" Fi'Finella replied.
"I would doubt a dragon would have just one exit... We've been told they can't fit through this crack... By Ezhia, so maybe true, maybe not..." She went silent for a bit thinking.
"Honestly, I am a bit reluctant breaking the teleportation, such magic is precious but... If we did what we could to block this crack, and then threatened the teleportation as you say... Even if they escaped from a third exit perhaps we would at least learn it's location? And at least get worm out of the ground? I'm liking it, what about you?" Fianna asks, turning to look at Toc, Mirica and Jezun.
"There can be something here... Not the teleportation circles - do not know enough about them to say if it works. But say we can make the big enough noise right here, at the "back-door" to cause a cave in. Better yet to send something this way first - those demons, fire, water - something that can pass the blade barrier - and then seal it with a cave in. She oath to get out just to look what is going on. Even if she knows that is our group, she might want to stop us - after all, her treasure is there, she would not want it to be buried."
Jezun grins at the back-and-forth between Fianna and her imp. He's game for anything the party decides, as long as he can get access to the dragon, even if the dragon's not on the ground.
"Can anyone cause an earthquake? Or a tidal wave?"Jezun says, covering his mouth suddenly. "Can we make sure the dragon's not listening in right now?"The monk looks around at the sky and foliage and ground.
He's happy to try interfering with or cracking the teleportation mechanism, though he wasn't there for that episode.
Jezun looks around. At some point, they appeared in some stone room with no windows and no doors....just some sleeping mats, a table, and a few provisions. Mirica must have meant the crevice, back in the ruins, when she said, 'right here'.
Toc shakes his head to Jezun, "No, they should not be able to listen in right now."
To Fianna's plan, Toc sits quietly for a moment, his face placid, this thoughts unknowable. Then he reaches for a slice of apple, dipping it in some caramel, and says, "It's a sound plan. I am ok if we purse this path. I don't have any way to cause a great earthquake, or summon a lot of water or rocks or anything. That would have to be up to one of you." He pops the apple slice in his mouth.
In her mind Mirica was indeed still at the entrance to the dragon lair and hardly noticed even that nauseating feeling that teleportation afflicted on the group.
"My magic gifted to me is not earth-shattering either but we still have fireballs. They could react with Mythal with some devastating effect. Yet again, that effect could be directed at us... Well, guess we are checking teleportation circles first."
(( Not sure any of us are really earth movers... How big is this crack we are at currently? We don't want to waste our spells doing something to seal it up or anything and then have to face a dragon but if Fianna could just stand here all day lobbing Eldritch Blast at the sides while the others too lookout or threw in whatever damage cantrips they may have? If this area particularly forested? And what size trees? Don't want to waste fireballs on the crack itself but if we could substantially fill and cover it with wood and then start a nice blaze... Though Toc may be upset if we burn the forest down and the dragon isn't even actually down there. We still have no reason other than Ezhia to believe one of them are.
Thinking as I write, I am now thinking perhaps we do just fell enough trees to cover the crack to the point that a dragon (or demon) crawling out would need be loud and noticeable. Could then leave Fi'Finella here to keep an eye out as we found the teleport painting and investigated that further. Far less waste of spells (being none) by having the boys chop down trees...?
But if we are really eager, we could try spelunking right here. Maybe the demons are merely trapped and won't be a bother. Maybe the blades are the only trap. Fianna has a once a ten-day True Seeing she could pop and hopefully see all the traps before we spring them.))
The crack is maybe 8 feet across and 15 feet wide. Eldritch blasting it for a while could certainly break apart rock and block it up after a while. There is also enough dead wood / trees around that with Chen's strength, you could cover the entrance with logs as well. If you took time, moving rocks with manual labor, you could also clog it up that way.
Just letting you know what will work. Fireball is just "burning" it has no concussive force, so it won't be too effective at causing a collapse.
Toc looks to the group, "Well, we need to make up our mind. Fill in the gap, go down it, go wreck the teleporting spot, or...combinations of these? Someone should propose their preferred approach."

"If no dragon is brought out, then we move on to the painting and consider then if we outright destroy or threaten to or just see what happens?"
Everyone begins finishing up after the hour long planning and....eating. Lots of eating.

Planning complete, everyone stands up, as the remaining food from the feast slowly begins to fade away. Chen grabs a last grape and pops it into his mouth before the food vanishes completely. Everyone stands up and Toc has you all stand in a tight circle. "Well, back to the forest...here we go." He raises his staff and thuds it onto the ground with a loud clack. The stomach and visual twisting of everything you know tears you apart and reassembles you back with a shudder. You find yourself standing over a magical circle with green motes sparkling around it. Glancing around, you notice the occasional torn thread of magic. You separate and begin your march back to the ruins. Small birds flit to and fro...squirrels bound from bush to tree trunk. The smell of the deep dark forests summer is earthy and pure.
But the rubble of destruction is all around you, chunks of fallen mountain, as you carve a path leaving the forest and eventually pressing in through the edge of the Mythal and onwards, into the full on ruins back towards the crevice. The landscape ahead is nearly silent, cut only by the low, mournful howl of the north wind. Pieces of stone dot the landscape. The strange eddies of pulled threads dot the landscape around you, simultaneously leaking energy and pulling it back in. This is causing a severe warping effect, twisting your perceptions.
Fi'Finella carves a path through the sky above you, sending down disgruntled reports of movement. She spots two people wandering the ruins in the distance, a small scittering group of tiny demonic creatures moving through the ruins....and a massive magical maelstrom slowly rolling along the ground, sending off sparks and blasts of lightning...but she guides you around it. Eventually you come through a small canyon between a massive split rock and arrive back at the crack in the earth.
The group looks around at each other, and then....nod....Toc mutters, "Very well, let's do this."
With Fi'finella watching the sky, Fianna begins summoning Fey power and blast it into the rock. Cracks appear, some chips of rock fly....but...then again, and again.....and soon rock is crumbling. Meanwhile the others begin scavenging for wood and movable boulders, Chen's strength helping drag logs and large chunks of wood over to be tossed in. Some go clattering down the gap, while others get jammed in the crevice only a few feet down. Toc bows his head and power flickers and ripples around him...and then an elemental creature rises up out of the ground. Toc looks around, expecting something to happen, but then shrugs, "It would seem summoning magic works ok." He directs the elemental who seems to glide along the ground rather than walk, as it pushes boulders and debris into the crevice.
Fi'finella, make a perception check with disadvantage.

Sweat trickles down Chen's scaled face, seeping from his pours under his fine scales as he heaves a dense, ancient chunk of tree towards the crevice. He drops it with a thud of dust and a takes a deep breath, wiping away the sweat. He glances over where Toc is directing a rocky elemental creature who is pushing rubble into the crevice. Tic picks up meagre sized rocks and tosses them into the pit. Fianna continues to blast at the rock, working on a shard of discolored rock that's starting to look ready to collapse. He watches as she takes a breath beneath the blasts. More twinkling motes of magic gather around her as she pulls on the magic. The pulled threads within a hundred feet seem to pulse and glow as she releases her blast. Mirica is dragging some wood of her own towards the crevice. The group has been at it for nearly half an hour. Sighing, he reaches down with his gloved hands and picks up the log once again, his bulky thighs making the lift easy. Then he begins walking backwards dragging the thing closer.
Jezun loves physical exertion, and this work has been no exception. He picks up another rock, and swings it over towards the pit. Despite feeling lost a lot of the time, Jezun's awareness is second to none. He hears the mouse skittering along between some recently jumbled rocks. The scrabble of the big black beetle moving across the ground. The wind stirs and he catches the faintest scent of something. He glances around. The ruins around them seem empty and calm. A small bird jumps from rock to rock, chasing a tiny bug of some sort. He shrugs, unsure why the sudden need to look around, and goes back to picking up another rock.
Suddenly everyone except Jezun feel a sharp electrical pulse in the back of your necks...which you have come to recognize. It's Toc magical blade warning all of you....
Toc lends his voice to the effect, "We're in danger, prepare yourselves!!"
(Note: I "randomly" placed everyone on the map before triggering this event. Everyone just happen to be within 30 feet of Toc except Jezun...sorry Jezun!!)
