Jezun looks at the fire surrounding him, closes his eyes serenely, looks up, and takes a deep breath. His whole body goes from relaxed to a vertical pole, jumping into the air... and continuing straight up, using his action (and 4 Ki points) to Ride the Wind, casting fly on himself. He goes up 30 feet and sees U1 floating nearby. "Neat trick! I can do that too."
He darts through the air straight at U1, holding his staff like a bat, and swings in a surge of action and a flurry of blows (mainly flying kicks, knees, and elbow strikes).
Running in a blur, Jezun sprints through the very air, stepping off nothing as if it were solid, and rushing across the space to come charging up beside Toc and the demon who looks at the monk sprinting across the air with obvious trepidation.
The demon turns, moving slightly to line them up, and casts a spell...which Toc nimbly counters. The demon glares at him.
Mirica's action. U1 is 30 feet in the air, about 50 feet from her total.

U1 Wisdom save : 10
Jezun goes running up and with a regular staccato, his fists move like a blur and pummel the (poor) demon. He grabs the chain around it's neck, as if it's trying to pull it off, looking about in a panic to flee...but can't seem to. Then Mirica's magic strikes it...dull loud gongs from bells surrounding it and all of a sudden it goes limp and drops from the air, falling 30 feet to crash into the ground in a messy pile, it's skull cracking on a large rock.
Toc continues fighting with the last remaining demon.... Attack: 27 Damage: 8 + 7 fire. Attack: 25 Damage: 11. Attack: 23 Damage: 3. Green blood continues to rain down. The demon, seeing it's last remaining allie die, and being sliced up by the elf, strains against the chain around it's neck, but seems unable to flee....
Fianna will start moving in that direction full speed, but I believe it’ll take a round or two before she’s even within the 150’ range for Eldritch Blast...

Nope. I did a measurement. With a single 30 foot move forward he'll be within range, so take your attack.

“Where’s... oh!” Fianna says before spotting their fearless leader engaged with one of the demons all by himself. The half-elf turns and runs in his direction, firing off some Eldritch Blasts as she goes...

The creature is blasted several times, and along with all it's wounds, it looks terribly wounded. It glances around, pulling at it's imprisoning chains around it's neck, and attempts yet another spell....which Toc counters with a quick spell. Toc takes a few more stabs... Attack: 32 Damage: 18 + 11 fire. Attack: 30 Damage: 8. Attack: 18 Damage: 4.
And the creature plummets out of the sky, slamming into the ground in a mess. (combat over)
While looting the bodies (cause of course enslaved Demons carry around pocket change and magical items!) Fianna suggests the group find a place to go and hole up in to rest before more dragon minions are sent after us. "We're weakened. That's likely the goal. Throw wave after wave until we're exhausted and running on empty..."
Fi'Finella is of course up high keeping an eye out for anything that may be approaching by land or by air... And reporting anything she finds, grumpily, back to Fianna.
Chen continues to pound the nearest body for a few moments until he finally realises the fight is over and he gradually calms down and catches his breath. Hmpf! Let them come! responds Chen to Fianna's caution, but he then gets up and starts scanning around for anywhere nearby that might offer a secure resting spot.

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jezun soars up a hundred, two, three hundred feet in the air once he sees the final creepy demon fall. He's looking for anything at all on the horizon, anything interesting nearby, anything moving in or beyond the treeline. He pauses and takes a few minutes to observe for a while, keeping a watchful eye on everything, allowing Toc to see to Tic and the rest of the party and himself. He slowly drifts down to the ground, assuming he sees nothing. If he sees something, he descends sooner.
((Jezun does not simply look at things but through and inside them too!))
"Would not welcome anything else just yet," Mirica found a boulder to sit on and took a well deserved rest. "When did they appear, anybody noticed? Just curious if it is time to fire up our smoking trap or next wave - so hope you are wrong here, Fianna - will come before we begin. One thing is clear, though, if those demons were not result of wild magic weird summoning, we were noticed."She did not just run to burn everything they carried to the exit, but was ready to do so, should others agree.
“Noticed or not is kind of moot, Ezhia admitted giving the dragon regular updates about where we are. The demons could have just been following directions provided by him,” Fianna suggests, then shrugs. “So many possibilities...”
“For all we really know, at the bottom of that crevice is ancient mysteries behind even traps that snared demons and bewildered the dragon. Ezhia could have led us here with claims it was a secret way to the dragon when in truth they just conspired together to get us to open the way.”
“Or I’m just paranoid and Ezhia was a good guy in a bad situation just trying to make out the best that he could.” Fianna shrugs again, then finds her own comfy place to sit for a moment. “Whatever the how’s and why’s, I don’t think it wise to stay here too long.”
Tic's bubble bursts and he emerges, looking a bit burnt but otherwise fine.
Toc comes and lands, looking around at his battered allies. He calmly says, "I'm sorry. I did not do that well. I was too quick to want to get my swords at one of them. I left the rest of you battling three all on your own, and their magic did a lot of damage. I need to work with you guys more." He shakes his head, seemingly disappointed in himself. "Also, don't take Tic's hiding personally. He doesn't heal, magic healing won't help him, is costly to repair, and isn't really meant for combat. Also, once he expends his spells, he does not regain them. So, he's sort of an emergency measure most of the time."
Fi'Finnella circles above, spotting no more immediate threats. Though Jezun literally runs PAST her up in the sky making sure to stay clear of the waving magical tendrils, and then stops and looks around.
His eyes pick up every detail. Birds flitting from branch to branch. Beetles scrabbling across the ground. Tendrils of smoke rising from the charred bushes and grass where the walls of flame were, the smoke responding to the wafts of wind as it rises into the air. The bend of the grass, and leaf as the wind touches them. There, over that way, he sees a large magical disturbance. As he watches it teleports a bit that way, then that way, but seems to slowly be making it's way towards them actually. He figures it'll be here in maybe ten minutes....perhaps drawn by all the magic let loose from the battle.
He also sees a crow hunched on a tree nearby....which...unlike the other animals....is just staring at the group. It's about five hundred feet away, hunched in a tree, in amongst the bushes, but it's unusual focus on the group...and its seeming attempt to stay hidden within the trees branches are what drew Jezun's attention.
Toc shakes his head to Fianna's worries about Ezhia. "No. Jahren was an excellent judge of character. He could read the most deceptive person like an open book. I doubt Ezhia would have been able to hide something like that. Not mentioning something....now...that is a bit easier, but intentionally deceiving us...I doubt it."
Chen finds a solid rock with a relatively flat edge for him to sit on, setting down his mass gingerly.
Fianna checks each of the bodies. Their magical blades seems to dissolve.....leaving behind only a dusty grey outline. They wear robes but nothing appears to be magical on them. Two of the fell and are quite dead, one was smashed by Chen's hammer and is also very dead, but the first one downed by Jezun's punches seems to be still alive. The other three, the chains they had around their neck vanished when they died, but this one still seems to have a chain attached. The chain drifts off into the ether and becomes invisible. Toc walks up beside it...muttering a quick spell he turns to Fianna, "I can see the chain. It goes .... that way...." he points off into the ruins.
Jezun cocks his head, looking at the crow, and then lets his gaze drift past, trying to make it appear as though he did not notice it. He cocks his head at a few other elements of the scenery around him, waiting another 30-45 seconds, slowly spinning, floating in lotus position. Hundreds of feet in the air.
He then descends quickly in a pencil dive, eyes marking the magical disturbance slowly making its way toward them.
When he gets down, he says "Two things to know. There is a crow staring at us about 500 feet that way, don't look at it all at once, keep it cool. Maybe it's like your bird buddy, Toc, but not a buddy. And the second thing is there is a big scary magic thing way over that way, and it seems to be making its way to where we are. Might take ten minutes to get here, I don't know. Oh, this one is still alive? Man what is the deal with your chain? Did you want to be here?"
If he can describe the magic disturbance better he will do so in small words.
You are a formidable warrior, Chen reassures Toc. In the heat of battle there is little time for thinking. We must all do what we can. I'll never understand how you can manage to manipulate magic during a fight, but I'm glad of it. Chen grins, offers Toc a handful of raisins, then wanders over to see what Fianna and Tic are looking at.
"Jahren ran away and left us to this fight on our own. You must trust his ability to judge someone's character, but I don't trust his character. It would not be the first time one sold their friends to a dragon..." Fianna replies. "And it's really astounding the amount of deceit one can practice by just not saying a thing..." The warlock shrugs, then drops it entirely.
When searching the bodies Fianna is about to put the last demon out of their misery when Toc takes over. "Ok... so his leash leads that way. That where we go next then?"
Before Toc can answer, Jezun lands and shares his information...
"Never one thing, but three," Fianna notes and then looks up to Fi'Finella, who is still playing scout, for updates.
Fi'Fanella keeps an eye on the magical disturbance, and knowing where the crow is, can keep an eye on it as well. The crow is not moving. The disturbance is slowly approaching, but you have time.
(If Jezun was less observant, there wouldn't be three things! It's his fault!)

Mirica was savoring the precious moments of rest between the battles and let the background noise - like Toc'a apology and explanations (after singlehandedly killing a demon he did not need one, truly) or Fianna's frustration vent (understandable and needed, but did not require reaction) - to wash over her. The approaching anomaly - surely the same thing they saw in the ruins before, or at least it was safer to suspect the one, and the crow - now that was serious.
"Animals around the dragon lair often serve the beast. Once more evidence we are at the right spot. But probably better go inside now. Or...
