"Hello, Quaryl," Fianna answers, trying to be precise on the pronunciation. "I am Fianna. My friend Mirica already introduced herself. The one touching the toys is Jezun. The large fella over there is Chen. And then there is Toc... It's our pleasure to meet you."
Fianna smiles warmly and soothingly, trying to be as charming as possible. "Did the Warlock summon them, maybe? Or maybe had you do it for him? We don't mean to be sticklers on the issue but the demons who were bound to that spot attacked us out of nowhere. I'm sure you understand that kind of thing kind of bothers us..."
Chen figures Quaryl is either lying or confused, and can't rule out the possibility that another creature is in the area. He decides to explore the remainder of the rooms to check them, and wordlessly signals his intentions to Toc and Mirica before walking through the door that Quaryl entered through.

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Quaryl shakes his head at Fianna, "Oh no..no...the warlock is not in this place, he could not summon and bind demons like this." He shakes his head, is eyes going distant and thoughtful for a moment. "I'm sorry to hear they attacked you, but I'm sure I have no knowledge of how they came to be here." He glances at the group, "You seem none the worse for wear, so that is a boon."
Jezun examines a figurine. It appears to be a tiny automaton....with little gears...and moving parts, though...how it works is not clear. Each little part seems painstakingly created though and fit together well. Though, Jezun has no idea what purpose they could serve other than as idle curiosity.
Chen wanders through a door and down a hallway. Quaryl seems to pay him no heed.
Chen pushes open another door at the end of the next hall and predictably finds another octagon room. The walls of this room are made of a highly-polished mirror-like substance, creating the illusion of an infinitely repeated space. A single pulled thread keyed to enchantment magic is in the center of the room, and a number of books sit upon bookshelves about the place. The only door leading out of this room is on the right hand wall.
The old elf seemed so off, Mirica did not care anymore about discussing him out loud. "If that "Warlock" is not a Larloch himself, we probably found our missing link - the last ally of the Shadow King." She turned back to Quaryl "Would you mind to remove that summoning or binding bolt? Then you would know for sure if that was you who summon them."
"Toc, is there any way to charm Baelnorn? Not that you need much, considering state of his mind."
“You say the Warlock sends you useful information? Is it possible they somehow also sent this binding? Would it be possible for us to see this codex?” Fianna asks, a sweet smile upon her face.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Quaryl's mind seemed to pick up on Mirica's words enough to look offended...a sneer evolving on his face, "Who taught you all about bindings then? Did you learn it when you wrote some garbage down on a page? Presuming you know how to write of course. And...as for charms....perhaps I shall teach you a thing or two right now...."
His eyes dart to Fianna, "Keep your filthy hands off my books, your lust for my knowledge is plain to see creature of the Fey....it hangs over you like a greasy cloud...."
In elven Toc replies, raising his hands, "Oh, they meant no insult ancient one, we are just confused and looking for answers."
His sneer increases, "See how you like these play things, maybe they'll give you the answers you want...." without a word or gesture he seems to turn into a spinning vortex of gas and then vanish. Then....a moment later....four dim balls of light seem to develop....getting brighter and brighter until with a flash they are gone, leaving behind....what looks like three elves...two with swords and full elven armor...one without....though..you see seams across their bodies and they look like perhaps they're automatons. There is also a large creature made of iron and steel with whirling gears inside a transparent torso. With blank expressions on their faces, they attack. (Chen, you hear a 'caffufle' behind you...so you can also roll init)
"For Frack's Sake!" Fianna mutters after their host goes nutty and replaces himself with some henchmen. She draws forth her Staff of Power and quickly sketches out a design in the air while muttering a string of arcanity under her breath. (Yes, it's a word! Well... It is now that I made it up!) A Wall of Force appears around the newest visitors, the appearance of the transparent walls pushing Toc (and Jezun depending what he does) back and outside of the enclosure created by the spell. (If the wall cuts through a creature's space when it appears, the creature is pushed to one side of the wall (your choice which side).)
But in truth, the wall is not a total enclosure. There is a one inch gap left between two panels, too small for anyone to fit through... But enough.
((I figure 7 panels needed for below design if these are 10 foot squares. If ceiling is 10 foot high or less, perfect. If ceiling is higher than 10 feet up then the walls all angle in towards the enclosure as much as possible to narrow the "ceiling gap" and any excess panels are used to cover it up as much as possible.))

Jezun follows in Toc's wake, staff up and swinging at E1 as well. He holds onto the figurine for longer than you'd think but eventually sets it down gently on the ground.
Action: Attack: 23 Damage: 10 Extra Attack: 25 Damage: 13
Chen turns at the sound of magic being cast just in time to see the lich-elf disappear and the new figures appear. With a roar of fury, and already brandishing his hammer, he charges down the hallway to strike at the large golem...
(Chen can't see the wall, so he would just be charging to attack the golem. I'll defer posting an attack roll though...)

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Toc scores a couple hits against the heavily armed creature, green flame leaping from his blade to the unarmored elf behind. Then Jezun is next to him, his staff striking the creature...and then the next blow banging off the elven armor. Fianna creates her spell...both Toc and Jezun feeling an invisible force pushing them back slightly from their enemy. Chen meanwhile comes charging back into the room, Maul raised high, only to bounce off of the wall and come stumbling to one side.
The space is small enough that the entire area, up to the 15 foot high ceilings, is entirely enclosed.
Elf wizard automaton Arcana check : 14
The elf automaton thing looks up, and then casts a spell. The air inside the wall suddenly fills with thick poison gas....suddenly hiding all of the creatures within the smoke...****y the ones nearest the wall can be seen as dark shadows moving within the gas. From the 2 inch gap....poisonous smoke pours out.....seeping into the room....though for the moment not enough is getting out to really threaten anyone.....if it keeps going it could eventually fill the room......
Mirica's turn. There's a giant pillar of poison gas...with a leak at one corner.
((LoL, what a totally awesome and unexpected side benefit to just obscuring the view! Though to be fair, I was planning to fill the thing with fire and smoke which would pour out and get us too Also... 1 inch gap.))
Mirica smelled the air and shrugged - everyone present was immune to poison for many more hours. But there were ... undeads? machines? inside that force field. The gas was useful, though, allowing to localize that small gap to add something entertaining to the monsters inside.
She wanted to do it for a long time and now it felt like a right opportunity: she detached on bead from her necklace and threw it inside (save DC 15) 17 standing behind the wall, of course if some fire escapes.

Mirica moves forward, and tosses a small ball into the wall of force room. The space is suddenly filled with orange and green light......fire jetting out of the gap......
E1: 22
E2: 12
E3: 8
The two elf warriors step forward, banging on the wall of force to no avail. The large golem also steps up to it, smashing it with it's fist.
Toc backs away from the wall seeping poison gas and jetting flames. He taps his staff on the floor, and a large flaming sphere appears just inside the wall of fire. It rolls over to the shadow where one of the elves are.... 11 and 11 vs 18. "Well, this isn't very sporting, but...I approve."
Fi'Finella slips out of Fianna's backpack and flies over to Chen. She turns visible as she is approaching, not wanting to startle the big hunting piece of mean, and waves a little wave to say hello. Landing up his shoulder she says "That way" and points, and in this way attempts to direct Chen around the invisible Wall of Force and back around to the rest of the party. (I'm assuming Fianna has a mental picture of where she is holding the wall and can share that with Fi'Finella...) If Chen has other plans, she'll just shrug, turn invisible and follow him at about ceiling height.
Fianna, for her part, has little to contribute besides holding up the Walls of Force. She does pull out a flask of oil and considers it, then realizes she made the gap too small to chuck it inside. She could maybe pour it in, but that seems a bit impractical at the moment. Instead she will just stay away from the gap and keep a wary eye out for anything else that may come their way...
