Mirica did not jump up startled when the creature, possessing Jezun begun to talk, but only because her sense of wonder was already overwhelmed and dampened by all the previous encounters of the day. Nor did she talk, though the question "Who the hell are you?" was obvious and kind of hanged in the air. The thing, though, had the right idea and more pressing one - the present situation. Mirica was as curious about the answer as the thing was, so, she was waiting for it while keeping an eye on the room, not trusting the lich to be just gone.

Russel looks around at this new group he’s discovered as he’s cleaning his blades wondering who this ‘new person’ is. Not feeling like he has anything to add to the conversation stays near the edge of the room quietly watching. 

(If no one is using the spirit - Toc was going to, right? - Mirica will move it over to Chen)

I’m assuming other people need the totem a lot more so feel free. 

(I'm happy to take healing if no-one else wants it, but Russel and Toc are both below 100 and Chen has damage resistance)

Chen is still getting his wits back, so it's a few moments before he notices Jezun is talking differently. Ah... he says. Er... he adds. Um... what happened to Jezun? he asks to no-one in particular. Then as the conversation progresses he looks to Toc and asks: Hey Toc, why's he talking to you like he just met you. Do you know what's going on? 

(Toc would like to take at least 1 charge of the totem.....Chen can have the other.) 

Toc looks over at Chen, "Mirica believes he's been possessed by something. It could have happened during the battle....except he's been possessed by a helpful wizard if that's the case, cause he killed the first Alhoon by hurling it into the sphere with a spell..."  

As you're all talking you hear the sound of someone approaching from down the hallway....Quaryl walks into the room.  A sphere of magic still surrounds him. He glances around..."What are you all doing in here?  Do not touch the Mythallar or it will destroy you."

     Fianna turns to the newcomer and lets out a “Yelp!” She had no idea who this was but she knew they were bad!  Gripping her Staff of Power so as to be able to club someone with it, Fianna backs away from this new threat.  Returned threat?  Threat, anyway...

Ok, now Mirica jumped up - Quaryl returned even faster than she was afraid of. Though... He was "off" again. Or pretended to be. "Stay where you are, do not come any closer." She did not see any points to talk to a the twice possessed (there were too many possessed around here!) and as many times cursed "benevolent" undead idiot but did not come up with idea how to kill him either. "Nuzej? Care to repeat your fancy trick of hurling bad things into the sphere?"

Seeing the elf-lich reappear is enough. Chen draws a handaxe and runs toward Quaryl to get a clear shot...

Unless anyone stops him...

Rage/Reckless Attack

Nuzej begins to reply to Chen and Toc's brief back-and-forth, "Oh Jezun is still here, in a sense, and he will undoubtedly be back. I have tried to explain our peculiar circumstance to him directly and indirectly many times, but, well, you know how he is with following even simple things. He means well, but I'm not sure he understands it at all. He never writes back to my notes. Anyhow, more time for explanations lat--"

Then the baelnorn comes in again. He casts detect thoughts and focuses on it.

"I cannot easily repeat that, and I suspect the globe would prevent it even if I tried," he mutters to Mirica. Then, turning to Quaryl again, he says, "were you just on another plane?"

He tries to make sense of things. What was the baelnorn trying to do with the portal and the sphere? What could explain the sudden reappearance? He suspects Quaryl was not Quaryl when he was first in here, working with the portal, but was some other presence, attempting to, perhaps, achieve more power or use the Mythallar to break something. His guess is that whoever was in Quaryl before being sent to another plane is still there, or at least is not here anymore, and that this is an original manifestation of the lich, and the lich has no memory. Drawing on his own experience with memory issues, Nuzej tries to piece together what he saw to fill out the narrative more completely.

Arcana/History/Investigation: 28

Just before the Baelnorn appears, Nuzej seems to be trying to explain his situation to everyone else....but he's interrupted by the appears of the Baelnorn.

Everyone seems to be willing to give the Baelnorn a moment...the Baelnorn eyes Nujez casting his Detect Thoughts spell but makes no move to counter it.  Nujez asks "Where you just on another plane?"  and catches the brief vision of him floating in a sea of silver....amidst a cloud of floating supplies...and....him killing a Fi'Finella with magic missiles...  But then an axe flies across the room, through his magical barrier, and slams into his shoulder, sending bits of dry bone and flesh flying, and sending him stumbling backwards.  

Nujez meanwhile considers.....he hears the thoughts of the Baelnorn....the ancient creature seems to believe the group are clearly enemies, here to try and steal his vast collection of arcane knowledge and/or mess with the Mythallar in some way, and he feels he's bound to protect it.  However, Nujez has worked out that he was clearly draining the magical energy from this Mythallar and sending it through a gateway to somewhere else.....almost as if sucking the energy out of a magic item to power something....but what it could be is behind him.  He is also bound to the Mythal here in Myth Drannor (which obviously isn't functioning in this space).....and perhaps was also pulling energy from that?  That all said....perhaps he can theorize more after with Toc...for now...there is a pending battle....

It was a "no" then. Oh, well, there are other ways to kill a lich, Chen (who, as she hoped, still had some remnants of the enhancing spells on him) just proved it. And she, personally, was going to enjoy that particular kill.

Primal Savagery Attack: 24 Damage: 14 + 4

(If I am not mistaken, attack is pure melee - though last 4 are radian damage from Blessed Strikes. So, should work despite the Globe?)

Russel was particularly on edge when the creature they just sent to another dimension suddenly reappears. Standing ready with scimitar and dagger in hand ready to dole out stabbity death. 

Fianna initiative: Unable to parse dice roll.

     Fianna, on her turn, just blindly backs away from the combatants, her staff raised up and ready but not wanting to have to use it.  She knows she has some friends here - Mirica, Chen, Toc (though she really prefers Tic) - but she knows the one is an enemy and the other two...  she doesn’t even know what she thinks.

((It says can defend friends, but as Fianna isn’t a melee type anyway I’m assuming she want to stay way the heck out of things unless absolutely necessary / she thought she could help.))

Charging forward, Chen lifts his hammer and swings it with all his strength at the baelnorn. The axe went through the globe so he sees no reason why he and his hammer can't too.

Nuzej squints at the sphere around the baelnorn, attempting to discern its nature. He assumes it is abjuration-based, and so he casts dispel magic on the protection, trying to make things easier for the group.
