The ogre's eyes widen and it turns suddenly, running away from Akira with a wail, its distended belly flopping with each step. While Rogram celebrates the success of his command, the dragonborn peppers the orc's back with two rays of flame, the third disappearing into some brush a hundred feet away from the road, lighting it aflame. The damp waters of the swamp around the impact prevent it from spreading further. Karib clenches his fist, shouting an incantation of his own, and a radiant flame descends over one of the orcs, who howls, hefting its greataxe and charging directly at the cleric. The orc's swing is wild and wide, more preoccupied with the divine energy burning through it. The other orcs charge with it, trying to overwhelm the trio with their unique combination of brute force and speed. Akira and Karib are quickly occupied with combatants in front of them, suddenly focused on keeping away from the swinging greataxes.
Round 2 Order: Enemies Players <=====
Placement: Two orcs are engaged in melee combat with Rogram. One orc is engaged in melee combat with Akira. One orc is engaged in melee combat with Karib. The ogre is 80 feet away.
Health: The orc fighting Karib is grievously wounded. The ogre is lightly wounded.
OOC: Akira wouldn't be able to use both burning hands and misty step in the same turn, as they're both level 1+ spells. The ole bane of spellcasters, only cantrips can be used in the same turn as a spell that uses a bonus action.
(If Karib can move to ensure more than one enemy is within range; he will also use silvery barbs if he is hit, or anyone else is critically hit[/spell]; if he can't target more than one enemy let me know!)
Once again spirits swarm around Karib, harassing his enemies and burning them with holy fire.
Rogram's flourish backs up the orcs approaching him, cutting into one; before they can regroup, flames from Akira's hands wash over them. One dies quickly while the other stumbles sideways into Karib's radius of spirits that quickly pummel the creature and finish the job. A roar precedes a javelin thrown by the returning ogre that falls short of Rogram. The ogre's eyes narrowed, the road rumbles from its charging footsteps. Akira darts sidelong to narrowly avoid a chopping greataxe from the only surviving orc as the orc near Karib is tossed aside by his spirit guardians as well.
Round 3 Order: Enemies Players <=====
Placement: The remaining orc is engaged in melee combat with Akira. The ogre is 40 feet away.
Health: The ogre is lightly wounded.
Akira is badly wounded. Rogram is lightly wounded.
"If you don't mind my asking," Carlon ponders at Merric as the convoy rumbles down the road, "Is leaving the forest something you do often? I'm a rube when it comes to elven culture, but I thought most elves were homebodies - more so than us humans, anyway. Do you ever miss the High Forest?"
Rogram is pleased, but his face looks more like a grimace as the three adventurers work together to reduce the number of targets. Ignoring the ogre for now, he rushes toward and swings at the remaining orc, hoping to remove it from the battlefield quickly.
Karib moves a little nearer to the ogre allowing his spirits to engulf it while positioning himself between the orc and the ogre so any retreat by the orc will bring it into range of the spirits. As he does so, he gestures towards Akira as the worst of their wounds heal somewhat. Finally he glares balefully at the ogres as a deep bell tolls.
He grins a Rogram, "All it needs is a little shove."
The orc looks to cleave vertically down Akira's spine with its greataxe, only to be thwarted as the blurred image she has created dissipates. Growling, it leans back to avoid Rogram's swing. Meanwhile, the ogre charges angrily at Karib. The ogre's massive club slams down onto the cleric's shield. The shield holds, but Karib feels his arm numbing from the impact while his spirit guardians pummel the creature.
Round 4 Order: Enemies Players <=====
Placement: The remaining orc is engaged in melee combat with Akira. The ogre is engaged in melee combat with Karib.
Health: The ogre is badly wounded.
Akira is badly wounded. Rogram is lightly wounded.
Following Karib's advice, Rogram moves around the orc while speaking healing words toward Akira to stand on the opposite side from the cleric. He bends his knees, drops his shoulder, and attempts to push the orc into Karib's swarming guardians.
Merric chuckles at Carlon’s question, eyes glinting with humor. “Miss the High Forest? Of course, I do. But look around you” Merric holds his arms out wide as they pass through the mere. “The wonders of nature are all around us here. No two elves are the same, mind you, but a spirit of wanderlust and a natural curiosity drive most of us to get out and see the world. We live too long to stare at the same trees all of our life. We keep to ourselves more often than not, but that doesn’t mean we are homebodies.”
Merric looks over at Carlon, eyebrows raised in question “And you, do you miss home? What caused you to leave those you love to sing for the Harpers?”
Akira's missiles of force buy some time from the orc, allowing Rogram to further heal her. The orc, now frustrated by her blurring form, presses forward, slicing apart another false image and roaring in anger. Karib's numbing shield arm deflects another mighty slam of the ogre's greatclub while his magic continues to assault the creature. Despite ts eyes beginning to loll as its life force is drained, it continues fighting.
Round 5 Order: Enemies Players <=====
Placement: The remaining orc is engaged in melee combat with Akira. The ogre is engaged in melee combat with Karib.
Effects: Akira is concentrating on blur. Karib is concentrating on spirit guardians.
Health: The ogre is severely wounded. The orc is wounded.
Akira is lightly wounded. Rogram is lightly wounded.
Carlon sighs heavily. "I don't talk about it often, but I was a bit of an idiot in my younger years. Not that I did anything stupid; more that I didn't do anything. When you grow up in a city, you see so much corruption. It's easy to forget that there are good people out there, people that are interested in helping more than just themselves."
"I don't miss home," he says. "And I don't miss the people I grew up with. The Harpers make sure that those in the darkness get brought to light. People like the cult we're following. People like that shouldn't get to skulk around in the shadows. The world needs to know what they're doing."
Jamna chuckles, trying poorly to turn the sound into a cough. "What?" she asks at Carlon's glance. "Idealists hit my funny bone."
OOC: Ah, my bad there, I didn't interpret the action in there, but reading it back I see it now. It can help to specify in game terms what you're doing as action, bonus action, etc. after your description, just to make it super clear for your hapless DM.
I'll make the rolls and edit when I get a chance tomorrow.
OOC: Sweet, pushing the orc into Karib's guardians kills it based on the rolls. I'll account for that in my next post once the round 5 actions are all posted.

Not taking their short advantage for granted, Rogram jabs and slashes, attempting to hit both of the orcs within range.

Akira reaches both hands out to sculpt the effects of Burning Hands at 3rd level to include both orges but to exclude her mates.
Dex save 14 vs 16 damage then she will use bonus action to Misty Step behind the ogres.

OOC: Should I have rolled athletics to try to push the orc? I figured you'd want to do that, Barty, since it's a skill check.
