Hearing more of the booms Smoke climbs down to see the people from inside flee with the group. Relieved that they followed the group but worried of all the raiders so near he says Lets try to delay them. And points his hands towards the inside of the temple Find what you are looking forhe says small noises of panicked people begin to form inside the building. Hopefully causing the raiders to search for them a while giving the group some time to get away.
Smoke then follows Yevele and moves past her to a more central spot of the group if he can get that far.
Action: Cast Prestidigitation to simulate noises in the temple Movement: Climbing down the roof and following the group towards the river
(Assuming the door opened inward.) Rogram pauses at the exit and performs a small incantation, causing the inside door handle to glow like burning metal, then closes the door after Smoke and follows the group through the hedge toward the river.
Along with the occasional help and guidance of the half-elf, the townsfolk are ushered forward through the stream to the tune of several more resounding booms and the sound of the doors finally giving way. There is an occasional whimper or muttering along the way, but they are quickly hushed. There are a few distant shouts, but nothing more is heard from the sanctuary; if the raiders are aware of the flight, they have not given chase.
After nearly a half hour of slowly marching through water and brush, the concealed grate that leads to the tunnel beneath the Keep is finally in sight.
“It’s just ahead” says Thrax as he points at the gate. He stands still and waves on the crowd of townsfolks urging them forward and pointing out the gate.
He stands ready and prepares to be the last one through, his shield and spear in hand.

Thia will lead the refugees through the gate and into the safety of the keep. She will guide them up into the courtyard. As soon as they get there she'll find a guard. "Go and fetch the Governor, please my good man," she commands the guard. "We have rescued some folk from the church." She does this nice and loud so that the other refugees from the village see our success and hopefully gather some resolve and morale from it.
She'll then see that the refugees are properly located and wait for someone of seniority to arrive.
Bringing up the rear, Yevele will keep a sharp eye out for any kobolds or raiders coming into the area. As she and Thrax head into the tunnel, the monk will quietly close and lock the gate behind them. She will pull on the lock several times to make sure it is secured before heading into the tunnel. When the minimal light from outside is no longer visible, she will light her torch (assuming no one else has already lit one).
Yevele will hold the torch below the level of her head, so that her body will partially block the light cast by the torch.
The sight of Greenest's keep seems to embolden the timid townsfolk as it grows closer. They press dutifully forward, needing little prodding from Smoke, through the cobweb-filled tunnel. The rusty grate screeches to a close despite Yevele's attempt to close it quietly, and the lock clicks shut as Thrax files through behind everyone.
After cresting the stairs to the Keep's courtyard, some of those rescued collapse relieved, while a few others quickly spot family members and loved ones and rush reunited into their arms. The half-elf man stretches a hand out to all that will take it. "You have my utmost gratitude. Surely that sounds flat...I still don't know who you are or when the governor brought you here, but I am eternally grateful for your rescue," he says as Thia alerts a nearby guard, who rushes off toward the tower.
OOC: Each character has received 100 XP for successfully rescuing the trapped townsfolk from the temple.
Thrax bows as the half-elf thanks them for the rescue and replies "It may have been the governor who let us know you were all stuck inside the temple, but he did call us to Greenest. There are bigger forces at play, I am here because of my divine calling, the Lord of Gond gave me visions which led me to Greenest. I suspect that though we may not realize it, we are all moving according the divine." He smiles and touches the metal broach around his neck with the emblem of Gond as he speaks.

Once again, Rogram furrows his brow as his eyes scan the crowd inside the keep for his father, uncle or aunt. Despite knowing better, the sight of families being reunited frustrates him. If he spots the red-bearded dwarf, he'll ask him if they've found anything out from the kobold.
The half-elf bows graciously to Thrax and says, "May Gond bless the rest of your journey, then."
Neither Rogram's family nor the red-haired castellan are anywhere to be seen in the courtyard, but Governor Nighthill soon exits the tower and makes his way toward the party. "Eadyan, it is great to see you are safe," he tells the half-elf, who bows again to the governor and steps away from the conversation.
"Mark us another notch in your debt," Nighthill tells you, pausing to look each member of the party over. "We saw the smoke increase and feared the worst. You look no worse for the wear; a testament to your talents. Welcome back."
Once safely in the keep, Yevele will pull out her herbalism kit and see what she can do about the wound she received from the kobold. When Nighthill approaches the party, she will wait until after he saying his bit, before approaching him and asking "I received a request for assistance from a monk named Lao Te. Do you know of him, and have you seen him?" If the governor knows of the monks whereabouts, Yevele will seek him about. If the governor does not know of Lao Te, she will try to find a place where she can rest for a bit.
Thia is going to go and find a quiet place and sit down. She'll check over her equipment, making sure it's all in good order. Then close her eyes and rest. It's been a crazy evening. Definitely time for some shut-eye. Tomorrow, when things are hopefully quieter, I'll go and look about for Talis. For now, it's time for a nap.
When back in the courtyard Smoke will look around to see if a siege has begun. Looking at Nighthill It was our pleasure but how are things here? Are the defenses holding?
He darts around walking a few steps checking around.
Impatient and slightly impertinent, Rogram asks Governor Nighthill, "What is to be done about these invaders? Are we going to just sit here and let them destroy our town? What if they don't leave? What if the dragon returns? Are we to die from starvation or end up the beast's supper?"
“Have we been able to take stock of what men and supplies we have here in the walls? Perhaps we can regroup and sally forth in the morning to drive this rabble out of the city?”

"I am sorry, that name is not familiar to me," the governor says to Yevele, "But that does remind me that I asked around about your family, Rogram. Your father was scheduled to bring a new round of horseshoes to the stables today, but he never arrived. A few folks that fled here from the east end of town said they saw him leaving for the farms this morning. If he was on the outskirts, it's likely he avoided the raid."
He pats his hands in the air to calm Rogram, and gazes around at the rest of the party, answering all when Thrax and Smoke have completed their own questions.
"I must stress patience. It has been but an hour since the gates were closed. We still know little about the force that besieges us, but we know that the strength of this keep is the only thing keeping us from a bloody end. They outnumber us at least five to one; and twenty to one if you are only counting those with weapons and armor. A direct attack would be suicide. How long we can last depends partially on how long we can keep the tunnel a secret," he says, nodding to Escobert the Red as the dwarf castellan arrives in the courtyard from the tower himself.
"Anything new?" Nighthill asks the dwarf, who simply snorts and shakes his head. The governor adjusts the bandage over his head, turning his nose up at the blood that cakes it, then clasps his hands behind his back and paces as he speaks.
"We are not completely blind, however. The kobold you brought us was a brilliant move. It is rightly terrified by our lovely castellan; it speaks too freely for all of its information to be useful, but we have learned at least that the raiders we face are working for the Cult of the Dragon, who are led by a 'dragon lady'. We also know their goal: Loot, which explains why so much of the town remains intact. If value is all that they are after, then luck may actually be on our side. How long will they be willing to besiege us once they have had their plunder?"
OOC: Each character has gained 25 XP for the earlier capture of a prisoner.
Smoke looks at the governor as he mentions the cult. The cult of the dragon? He said that?
He will start to take a few steps towards the governor fidgeting with his hands and his tail will start to move a bit anxiously. Would it be possible to question the kobold myself? He looks sideways to the others in the corner of his eyes. Alone?
He looks around again and feels to need to, justify his request. Ive studied dragons and everything around them for many years.he starts speaking more rapidly. Im sure i know more about them than anyone here.he says proudly and blatantly before stopping himself biting down pressing his lips together. After taking a second to calm himself he continues I know what drives kobolds. I might be able to get some more information.
Rogram immediately deflates as the governor relays the information concerning his father. His shoulders drop, and his face goes slack as his eyes appear to be looking into the middle distance. He slowly begins to reanimate as Nightall continues, and even puffs out his chest a bit when the group is complimented for capturing one of the kobolds.
As Smoke begins making his request to question the prisoner, Rogram wonders whether a return trip to the tunnel would be prudent to attempt to make the gate harder to detect.
