From flurry of immediate retaliation the Prophet's body begins to collapse at the first blow before bursting and being scattered into a rain of inky droplets. The storm too collapses, bringing on a sudden deluge of water before ending just as abruptly and revealing a rainbow over the bridge. The only physical thing which remains of him is the trident which clatters to the floor. The room falls silent.
Ebele gasps for air, sitting up in utter shock and panic. Her muscles, some tingly, some numb, some like pins and needles, spasm from the aftermath of electrocution. They contract, tense and release, slowly easing with each wave of relief administered to her by Flux and T'chal'fronack'zcinicker. She shakes, pulling her knees to her chest and rocks slightly to console herself as she wades through the brain fog. Was it over?
T'chal'fronack'zcinicker peeks out from behind the pole, his loaded crossbow scanning the room. Seeing noone he lowers it a bit. “Are you guys like, standing in that guys left over water vapor? Gross. But. Really good job everyone. That guy was a real jerk!”
He begins walking around the room looking for clues about the cult, or for valuables as he pulls out his ledger and the pen.

He casts absorb elements and despite just barely stepping right into the lightning bolt, gets a protective spell up in time to take half the damage.
He collapses and slowly recovers. It has been a long day. He is happy to share some healing magic - Ebele and Kerric seem worst off, right? He asks if the group was interested in stopping for a short while to bind wounds and rest.
After staring up at the ceiling and looking offended for whoever knew how long, Flux eventually lets out a dismissive huff and seemed finally attentive of more terrestrial matters. "That be putting it a wee bit mildly. But goes to show I s'pose that their more higher ranking members aren't to flux'd with." Flux grinned crookedly at his own play on words.
"Give me 10, and I could have most of ya right as rain for the most part. But if'n we be in no serious rush, I'd have to agree with tall and scrawny over there about having a breather. Though, I'd suggest getting some doors barred, as there's no telling when others might be show'n up for their evening 'prayers'."He snorts, and should none at least be of a mind to disagree about a short rest, Flux then took it upon himself to go about examining the doors, and where possible either wedged lizardfolk weapons as best into place to prevent or at least make it difficult opening both known doors. Only after that would go over others work in making sure wounds were properly cared over the next hour.

“He really didn’t want to do all that paper work…” Ebele attempts to jest, making light of the situation the best she can while catching her breath.
Meanwhile Flux barricades the doors closed with lizard weapons while Kerric completes a search of the area. At the moment, besides the trident, only 25 sp, 12 gp, and six small agates are strewn across the room having originated from altar that was blown to bits.
However, when the light catches the water just right, there appears to be something more to the eastern wall beneath the liquid surface. A submerged tunnel.
Handing the treasure over to T'chal'fronack'zcinicker for proper documentation, Kerric sits down facing the water and underwater tunnel, saying “I will watch this aquatic passage for any interlopers while we catch our breath.”

Xalkas takes the time during the rest to go over the area with a detect magic spell up. Curious if these cultists have any nearby magical items, or if the trident is in fact magical. He’ll also make notes, diagrams, and drawings of any symbols, messages and general layout of the space in case it might be useful later.
With the doors secured by Flux's efforts, Kerric takes up a guard position where he can keep a close eye on the under water tunnel. Xalkas meanders around the room, scouting the entire area with his magical senses. During this time everyone is able to take a short rest to catch their breath.
Indeed the trident was magical. It contained very powerful magic. So much so it'd almost overwhelm the gnome at first. The strongest he's sensed thus far. Because of this, the wizard would almost miss the slightest of pings on his magical radar. After playing a little 'hot or cold', Xalkas would conclude that there's some magical items beyond the wall, just at the edge of his senses. It was approximately 30ft east of the south east pillar in the room. Perhaps that's where the under water tunnel goes.
Upon recognizing the magical nature of the trident, (what school of magic(s) is it?) Xalkas will ritually cast identify on the item to determine what it’s capabilities are. He also shares the information about there being something beyond the eastern wall.
Once it at least seemed everyone was good and decently patched up for the moment, Flux lets out a loud "Welp!",clapped his hands, and after a bit of rubbing them together for good measure, eventually rolled onto his feet again. "So, there was something about an underwater tunnel, eh? I can have a proper peek if none are a mind to worry, and see at least how far they go. Or perhaps if we're extra lucky, could be where they keep the really good stuff in between their so called "prayer" sessions."He suggested. Though a moment later the waater genasi cringes as if only fully realize the weight of his words. But with a hard few shakes of his head, then a deep, chest swelling breath for good measure, Flux gets a really determined look on his face.
Realizing he himself is not a good candidate for swimming through an underwater tunnel of unknown length, Kerric hands Flux one end of his rope and says. “Take one end of this with you. Give a single tug if you want me to join you; give two tugs if you want me to pull you out. I’ll keep a light tension on the line.”

T'chal'fronack'zcinicker finishes up writing down the meager amounts of treasure and then stands up. He absently scratches the back of his neck with his sharp nails.

"Aye, aye, uh... aye! That sounds, uh, Easy enough, lad! Just, uh, let me tie it about the waist, as we don't want me accidently butter finger underwater now do we? Especially if there be some odd current or two picked up on the way."Flux replied along with an awkward chuckle, before tying it the rope about his waist. With that done, he makes a show of testing the quality of the rope and stretching out to really pad out the time in hopes someone might interject and perhaps even volunteer on his behalf. When one ultimately does not though, he sighs and mutters a prayer to Valkner before slipping into the channel and making his way down the tunnel.

Lewin watches the preparations quietly. He touches Flux on the shoulders and whispers, "constant, as they say, vigilance" and confers Vigilant Blessing (advantage on your next initiative roll) on the genasi. He also mutters a quiet blessing of guidance on Kerric, in case effort is needed to get him back via rope.
Is the tunnel dark at all?
Lewin also prepares to shift into a crocodile if something bad seems to be happening and Flux needs help in the water.
Xalkas is scribbling furiously everything he’s learned about the trident as everyone is preparing to enter the tunnel. Once finished he finds T'chal'fronack'zcinicker, shares with him as quietly as he can what he learned and adds, “I think it best if we put this in the bag of holding and not use it unless necessary. No sense in risking more trouble.”
At that he moves towards the tunnel entrance. Waiting. Watching. Hoping all goes well.

Ebele maintains her position, hugging her legs to her chest. She had no interest in moving any closer to the water, let alone volunteering to dive into it and venture through an unknown underwater tunnel. The blonde would lay her head down onto her knees. Although her ears listened to her surroundings, she focused on humming a gentle lullaby to herself.
Making his way into the water, Flux heads towards the deep, dark unknown tunnel. He swims to a depth of at least 15ft to access it, and as he proceeds through it, the light above the surface behind him fades. The width of the tunnel feels about 10ft wide and roughly carved, with no light at the other end. Good thing it was pretty straight.
DM: 3
Continuing for about 15ft the tunnel opens up into a clear deep spring which fills most of a natural cavern. This pool is almost 80 feet deep and fed by an aquifer through porous rock at the bottom. Breaking the water’s surface, Flux spots a dry ledge that makes up part of the south side of the chamber, on which several rusty iron coffers lie.
Depending at what depth the tunnel opened into the spring, and shy of Kerric having sprung for lengthier rope or tying two together, Flux finds himself torn on whether to surface or not for a few moments. Ultimately caution is throne to the wind in him tugging once for Kerric to join him, before slipping his bonds and surfacing slowly as to avoid disturbing the surface overly much. As it initially became clear from there that the chamber was empty, then it is with a gleeful, shark-toothed smile that Flux promptly swam over to the bank.
His mind having almost immediately emptied itself of caution by the time he reached the coffers, and immediately began trying open one. And if/when that inevitably fails due to it being locked, he starts drooling acid over the locking mechanism of one hoping to make it easy enough to pry open from there! A little side project while waiting for Kerric to make his way to him in the meantime.
