((OOC: Oooh, I thought you were saying that’s the kind of thing they would wear but I didn’t know we’d actually found any in this hideout yet!.. Yes for sure Robwin would have suggested they all wear one if he’d come across any))

Much of the room baffles Wolfsong as it was much more than anything any of the casters of his village had ever had or used but he could hear the excitement in Robwin's voice, "Yes, yes once everything is dealt with you can spend as much time as you would like here."
As Rinn reaches the southern door of the room the others are in, he, Cinnaess, and Lia (who alerts Robwin telepathically) hear rustling coming from the room to the east. As someone approaches the door, you hear a male voice saying, "While I appreciate the innate curiosity within the craft and I am thankful someone of some intelligence has been brought in, I explicitly forbid the use of my laboratory." The tall slightly aged human swings open the door marching in toward Robwin. He stops about five feet into the room realizing Robwin isn't the only person present. "Well, Hells." (Surprised)
Rinn steps in. "Curiosity is what makes our craft," he chuckles, "But your curiosity led you to keep a little friend out there watching too. He's been waiting for you. Wanting more. You might not want us using your lab, but perhaps you might explain some things to us. Because I'm not sure if your little friend is going to wait forever."

Robwin sees the mage walk in, then he turns with a huge smile to Rinn as he hears him speak, genuinely happy to see him and for his comments...
Then Robwin turns back to the mage, and rather ostentatiously, and deliberately, straightens his hat of wizardry and his abjurer’s robes. “Don’t be alarmed, these are just my associates! It can be ‘treacherous’ ‘on the road’ these days. Eh?”. He laughs politely, as if sharing a private joke with the mage.
“Your ‘roughians’ down the way”, he gestures out the door, “Let us in...... And that’s the FiRST thing I can help with, ‘security’!... We’ll have alarms set up here, and here”. He wanders calmly round and mimes where alarms would be cast, like a friend discussing interior decoration.
”But I get ahead of myself.... I am Robwin Windrobe, ‘Abjerer’” He flicks midair in front of his chest and his mage armor let’s off a faint spark and a metallic ping/ring sound. “Sent straight from the Acadamy in Neverwinter”. He bows. “Brand new... No bad habits... I HAVEN'T TOUCHED ANYTHING!! Ha ha!... but this set-up IS TO DIE FOR!... I am very jealous!”.
He walks around behind the mage closing the door the man came through and gesturing around it again miming alarm spells. “Yes, let’s see... and here.... and maybe an arcane lock?”. He squints to look at the lock then turns and fires magic missile at the mage, saying more quietly to the party “Take him alive, if we can!”.
((OOC: Robwin was waffling a LOT!... if anyone wants to jump in before the attack or to stop the attack please say... or if the mage wouldn’t have let it get that far. Robwin’s goal was to close the door and shoot!))
(( OOC: LOL! I certainly have no problem with it. I see this groggy, arrogant wizard wake up with an image of a Redbrand in his lab feeding his rat and holding the keys. Then slightly caught off guard by his familiar misunderstanding the situation, him misunderstanding his familiar and then Rinn and Robwin going through what sounded like a discussion about his rat ... and wait; new and waring a cloak; what? WHABAM!!!
I also love that no one knows what Rinn is actually talking about except Rinn and Cinnaess knew "an ally" was back there but never saw Rinn until now.

Wolfsong tries his best at keeping a poker face when the mage enters followed by Rinn, but a small smile does form hearing the voice of his hunting partner. After Robwin fires off his spell Wolfsong charges the mage and goes for a tackle in order to grapple the mage to the ground hoping to pin his arms so he can not cast.
((OOC: quick question... in this world, how loud would you say toll the dead is? Is the sound limited to around the affected victim? Or heard more widely? Same goes for all spells (or any attacks at all) I guess, unless they have a sound radius listed in the description (as some do) are they practically silent for game purposes? Thanks))
(( OOC: DM ... in my world "toll the dead" is more like a phantasm ... only the person affected hears the bell(s) ... other spells might be heard ... it depends on the spell and perception ))
In the middle of the third round, a shift of Sildar's make shift night watch shows up. You've worked out an agreement with the Redbrand present and Grista that they will crash in the tap house.
Once outside the tap house, while Blaire is leaning rather heavily on Endure, Endure chuckles a bit. "Well, TT, I don't know how you affected your eyes and aura, but it was incredibly helpful in bringing them round. Should we all head for the mansion? It is very late, but your friends are also most likely there by now based on what those fellows shared."
Blaire says, "I don't like that man."
"No, that was abundantly clear.", Endure responds.
"How did you and Halia go from working together to..."
"Dating a cleric?"
"Before that."
"I think you had more Ale than is helpful. However, for now I will say it was my mother's choice to visit Phandalin."

Rinn shrugs at Cinnaess' question, "Just a mysterious shadow. He apparently trades for food and spells, but he seemed especially interested in the wizard's staff," he nods towards the unconscious mage on the floor. "The wizard supposedly kept him as a watcher," he says as he starts searching the mage's door for any traps or magical enchantments (Investigation: 19).

Robwin says to Cinnaess and Wolfsong, “Yes, please, bind this man. He has to interlock his fingers and clench his hands together as one, behind his back, then bind his hands and fingers together. We’ll have to gag him too eventually, after we have some answers.... In the meantime, any noise from you and we’ll break those precious fingers one at a time....”.
With that, he looks across at the rat under the table. “I’m sorry to do this my Fey friend... Lia, look away...”. And he casts toll the dead on the wizard’s familiar. ((DC14 WIS save or take 7 necrotic damage)).
"Aye I could use the aid in binding him," Wolfsong nods to Cinnaess then turns to Robwin then to the unconscious mage then back to Robwin. "He is out cold he did not hear a word you said."
Once the mage is bound and gaged Wolfsong brushes himself off, "We still need to find the others that were captured, you said they should be on the other side of the cavern correct Cinnaess?"

Dexterity (Acrobatics) 10 (disadvantage due to surprise)
Wolfsong takes the extremely wounded mage down hard. CON 6
Knocking the mage unconscious.
Cinnaess watches the spectacle that quickly unfolds in front of her holding her shot.
Looking at Rinn she says, in Elvish, "Heard you in the tunnel. Didn't notice you since. Good work. What were you speaking of?"
In common she says, "Hunter; need you help? I have lether straps. Bind and gag it like those others."
