Alton, you move forward and once again flash your two swords into the air. They both sink deep into the ghoul's body, cutting it almost into pieces as the creature falls to the ground, motionless. (-15). Toast.
Got-wolf, I will use your roll from the previous page since you just have enough movement to make it over to the new ghoul. Your teeth rip once again into the ghoul's gut. (-8) Landy screams "Nooooo! Quinn! Quinn??? Ahhhhh!" as a reminder, the ghoul looks like Quinn from her dig team. She hasn't seen the other dead ghouls yet.
Ralfaen, at this point I think it's safe to say you can completely redo your turn as that ghoul is now dead.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ralfaen will raise his staff, and a column of purple, spectral ravens will surround the ghoul as he casts Sacred Flame on the ghoul nearest to Gotur. He will then move 20 feet to the east and use his bonus action to cast Spare the Dying on Quinn from 30 feet away, which is a feature that he gets from his Grave domain. He looks at Professor Landy and says to her "Stabilized, Quinn is, and resurrected, he can be. But, not easy, this task is. Later, details will be."
((The 1 remaining ghoul, who has emerged from the right side room, LOOKS like Quinn. That is all you guys know. You don't know why or how the ghoul looks like Quinn. It's a ghoul though nonetheless. Landy hasn't seen the other dead ghoul faces yet.))
Perhaps more will be uncovered about this apparent ghoul mystery..... :)
I will process Ralf's move later in a few hours.
RALF you can make a new bonus action since spare the dying on Quinn doesn't really exist because there is no 'Quinn'. It's a ghoul who looks like Quinn. But if you want to still cast the spell on the ghoul, let me know
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ghoul 3's DEX save: 3Ralf, your sacred flames dance around the ghoul who looks like Quinn, but they don't seem to affect the creature.
Ralf, I moved you outside as well into the main chamber.
Landy continues to scream out frantically and is in shock about the ghoul who looks like Quinn. No other action.
The ghoul swings its arms at Got-wolf, trying to claw the beast: Attack: 7 Damage: 8 and the ghoul continues the horrible streak of worthless attacks as the claws go wide of the wolf.
Alton uses his bonus action to dash to reach melee range of the final ghoul (I think he can make it?) He then takes one strike with his shortsword at the monster with sneak attack because Gotur is within range.
(It's totally fine! let me know if the reminders get annoying, and there'll def. be times I miss stuff)
(with that attack, plus Got-wolf's attack since it's with advantage, that ghoul will be toast. I will do the next post up properly ASAP. It will likely be a longer one, so it might not be until early tomorrow AM - but will try for tonight.)
Alton, you dash forward and yet again slash deep into ghoul flesh. The sword sinks deep just like the last time. (-13).
The ghoul then just stands there while the Got-wolf proceeds to eat away at its guts. (-8) The ghoul falls to the ground, dead.
Combat is over. I will uncover the dark room in assuming that Ralf (the light source) eventually walks over there.
Landy proceeds to freak out about the ghoul who looks like Quinn, a member of her dig team. She would also run forward into the left chamber, see the ghouls dead and scream out in shock "Oh my lord WHAT IS GOING ON HERE! NOOOO! THESE ONES LOOK LIKE SKEIN AND TANLIK!"
She tearfully identifies the former members of her dig team as Skein and Tanlik, who are the dead ghouls on the ground in the left room, along with Quinn, the dead ghoul on the right.
"They are all dead... they have been changed into ghouls... how the hell.... oh lord, what have we uncovered here...."
"Shite... Calador. CALADOR! Where the hell is CALADOR!"
She is referring to what seems to be the last member of her dig team. He is nowhere to be seen.
There is a lot to investigate now that combat is over. There are the two rooms, plus the main section, as well as the altar at the front and perhaps other things as well? Who knows.
Please have at it, and make any appropriate checks as you see fit as you go about your character's moves.
The map has been updated and has some cool detail if you want to investigate something further.
I will respond to any next moves and rolls tomorrow morning!
Got-wolf, your wolfy ears do not pick up any further signs of ghoulies, in any of these rooms, anyway.
You all might've done a quick scan of the rooms. Here is some high level info:
Left chamber = the one with the 2 dead ghouls who look like 2 people from Landy's team. This room is lit due to the windows. The walls show decorations of seeds and nuts, while the ceilings show pictures of humanoid babies, calves, chicks and other young creatures.
Main chamber = Contains crates, blankets, and oil lamps. Bloody drag marks lead to each of the smaller chamber rooms as well as up to the front of the main chamber right to the front wall and to the altar. The altar is a rectangular block with 3 holes spaced out perfectly on the top of it.
Right Chamber = Mirror image of left chamber, but instead of seeds and nuts, it's withering dead weeds and dead plants and trees. Instead of young creatures on the ceiling, it is pictures of bones and skulls weaved together. This chamber seemed to be used as a sleeping quarters for the dig team. A few things are against the wall.
Landy is frantically pacing through all of the rooms as she wipes her tears. She goes up to the altar, and back down into the main chamber. "Where the HELL is Calador! I have searched the entire place! It doesn't make sense, he has to be somewhere"
What room(s) would you inspect, or what in particular would you might do next to get more details?
(Sorry for the delay!)
Alton moves around to the left side of the ghoul on the map and takes two shortsword strikes, the first one with sneak attack.
