This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the head, presumably of the creature that shot at Austin, Kaltent raises his own crossbow and fires two bolts in quick succession into the cave as he moves closer (move 40 feet towards the cave, +10 move speed first round of combat from Dread Ambusher).
(Sharpshooter for -5 to hit and +10 damage. And target can't benefit from half or three-quarter cover. And Dread Ambusher also lets me make one extra weapon attack during the first round of combat that deals an extra 1d8 damage if it hits)
With the coast seeming to be clear, Kaltent moves around the corner and into the cave itself, not bothering with a light since he can see through the darkness just fine.
(Given that I didn't even think about it and the fairly bad perception check, I'll just say no, he didn't check for traps after making sure he didn't 'see' any other enemies.
And note that if there ARE any other foes in the cave, as soon as I get into the darkness of the cave (assuming a trap doesn't stop me before that), I vanish from sight if they use darkvision to see in the dark due to my Umbral Sight feature.)
Falavor follows Kaltent into the cave, keeping back about 10ft (Although he's well armoured, he's an older man and more of a caster and support, so will generally keep slightly back so that he can rush forward if needed).
(I actually really wanted to play with be DragonDenn so I'm kinda out as well. Good luck with the campaign though. :) )
Kaltent it’s your turn
(Am I able to see whoever fired the arrow from the cave? How far from the entrance am I?)
(OOC - sounds like it's down to two PCs. What do you want to do moving forward? Continue as is, recruit or stop?)
I say continue and vander, you can’t see into the cave
(even with 150 foot darkvision? And how far away am I (for figuring out how I might wanna move for this turn))
Didn’t see your dark vision, you see a small head peeking out from a stalagmite you are 60 ft from the entrance

You shoot twice and the bolts go one in each eye
its dead.
what would you like to do
(we will be doing milestone advancement. It’s easier to track in my opinion)
Kaltent cautiously approaches rhe entrance of the cave from the side, peeking in to look for more foes.
perception: 9
Falavor follows Kaltent's, ready to aid him as needed. He puts a brief hand on this new acquaintance's shoulder, casting Guidance.
You just see cave

(Is it fully dark in the cave?)
Yes. Now be honest, would your character check for traps

Ok so make a dexterity saving throw as you trip a tripwire
Dex save: 7
You fail
You take 14 slashing as an axe comes down from the ceiling
