"Name is Daa Slatebone ma'am." the guard responds. "We get a supply ship once every couple tenday and occasionally a new prisoner. So we aren't due for another for a while as the last left less than a tenday ago. We used to get more supplies across land from Icewind Dale but the winter has locked it up tight. They have little to spare so we rely on the ships now."
"Well met Mr. Slatebone. I was hoping that if there is a ship here, it may aid us in another matter. I thank you for the information." She nods to Daa like a soldier would nod to another, more as a habit than anything else. Then she turns to Krom. "Master Krom, I do fear that Oli may do something regrettable. Not that it would be his fault." She says the last part more to the guards. "If that does happen I would like to be close by. However, the mission is more important. I will accompany the fellowship if I must."

Slatebone looks at Rekuburk. "Might be best you leave that here with your sword." he says referring to the small statue.
"If you are all ready to go then whomever is coming follow me."
He leads you into the entry hallway and a couple other guards come out of the guardroom that is on the right (R3). One of the guards steps forward and searches each of you and finding no weapons allows you to pass. (Chill successfully hides his dagger)
Slatebone then leads you down a corridor to the NW that leads to a room (R12) that holds a large, rectangular table with a single chair on one long side and three similar chairs on the opposite side. A wooden ladder leads to an iron hatch in the ceiling
"This room is used for meetings with prisoners or the warden." Slatebone says. "The warden will be with you soon."
With that said he stations himself outside the door.
You notice a few things as you make your way in the prison. The prison, hewn from stone, has 20-foot-high outer walls and flat, 20-foot-high ceilings throughout. All the doors you see are made of reinforced iron. The hatch above appears to be the same. The air is a comfortable level of approx 68 degrees F or 20 degrees C. Wall sconces provide light and appear to be lit by continual flame spells.
When the group mostly left to their own devices to wait, Rhogar cannot help but pace a bit about the room, seeming intent on studying the room and its chairs as if checking for something. Just prior to which, he softly intones a few draconic words, testing as much as intending to further empower his abilities, if but for a moment. He would also take a moment to try and reach out for Gorrah, if only to just confirm how far away they were from the stables, as well as if any magical interference might be in play. A good sign n his books if the latter, as it would be proof in the guards here being both fortunate and capable of truly imprisoning a mage.
As Rhogar searches the room for arcane markings, Krom touches and taps the stones to get a better feel of the structure (Stonecunning21) "As I was saying before, this fortress is well made, but it could use some improvements here and there." says when he finishes his checks.
"The prison or at least part of it is probably warded against magic, otherwise it will be impossible to keep a mage as prisoner..." says the dwarf looking at Rhogar "Have you found something interesting Rhogar?"
Chill stands near the door and quietly listens to what he hears going on outside. How often do the guards pass? Are they grumbling or sound happy. Can he hear prisoners or anything else?
Kazri asks Oli to guard the party’s mount. “I should be back soon.” The. She follows the party to the meeting room.

"Greetings, I am Marta Marthannis, Warden of Revel's End." She is a human wearing a red robe with gold trim. "I have been informed you wish to speak with prisoner 237 on behalf of Duvessa Shane, speaker of Bryn Shander. What do you wish to discuss with him?"
Kazri raises an eyebrow, clearly surprise to see a female warden, in this very hard location. She does not hide the fact that she is sizing her up, but she doesn't say anything. She will let the other do the talking.

Chill steps away from the door area and back behind the table as the woman enters the room. He also chooses to stay quiet for the moment. But a the woman speaks and refers to, he presumes Gant, as a number he can't help but ask.
Marta takes the letter from Krom and spends a moment reading it. She looks around at the group assembled before her. Seeing Kazri sizing her up she calmly turns her attention towards her.
"You do not approve of a woman in charge of such a place? What do you know of Revel's End? Likely very little. The Lord's Alliance had this place built. Both the prison and the tower are carved out of a tall, blade-shaped rock that rises high above the sea cliffs. This rock, called the Windbreak, shields the tower against the brutal winds that sweep down from the Reghed Glacier. Revel’s End is a panopticon, a prison configured in such a way that the activities of the prisoners can be closely monitored from a central location."
"Revel’s End is controlled by the Lords’ Alliance, a loose confederation of settlements whose current members include the cities of Baldur’s Gate, Mirabar, Neverwinter, Silverymoon, Waterdeep, and Yartar; the towns of Amphail, Daggerford, and Longsaddle; and the dwarven stronghold of Mithral Hall. To be imprisoned in Revel’s End, one must have committed a serious crime against one or more members of the alliance and been sentenced to a lengthy period of incarceration. Moreover, the offender must have political connections that make incarceration in another facility less dependable. Captured spies, for example, are often brought here to cool their heels."
"Each member of the Lords’ Alliance assigns one representative to Revel’s End, and together they form a parole committee called the Absolution Council. Rarely are all ten council members present, since Revel’s End offers little in the way of comfort and amenities. In fact only three are present at this time. If the council needs a tie-breaking vote to determine whether to commute a prisoner’s sentence, the prison warden—a neutral arbiter with no ties to any Lords’ Alliance member—casts the deciding vote. That person is me."
You get the feeling from her that she has a strength of mind and will to be an effective warden. You have now doubt that even though you have never heard of her, she is indeed the warden of Revel's End.
Upon Chill asking his question she turns her attention to him.
"Do you know him personally? How would you know if any person I brought to see you was actually Prisoner 237? But I will not bring him to see you. You will be brought to see him. He is a mage and will not be removed from his cell. We employ anti-magic fields when we hold mages as prisoners. And do not worry, he will happily tell you who he is. He, even though a prisoner, thinks very highly of himself. He is pompous and conniving, he never doubts that he’s the smartest person in the room, and he makes sure everyone around him knows how he feels."
She looks around at the party again,
"I would be willing to bet the dragonborn here knows more magic than Prisoner 237 though."
She smiles and continues,
"Prisoner 237 is a member of the Arcane Brotherhood who first engaged in criminal activity by insinuating himself into the trade network of Ten-Towns. He hoped that his work would help the Arcane Brotherhood gain control of the region. A few years ago, shortly after his arrival in Ten-Towns, he established a protection racket in Bryn Shander and tried to turn the town against its speaker, Duvessa Shane, with the goal of supplanting her. He also tried to destabilize the economy of Ten-Towns. A party of adventurers thwarted his criminal ventures by capturing him. Rather than put him to death for his crimes in Icewind Dale, the Council of Speakers in Ten-Towns made a deal with representatives of the Lords’ Alliance to have him serve a life sentence in Revel’s End, so as not to incur the Arcane Brotherhood’s wrath. His failed scheme, however, was an embarrassment to the Arcane Brotherhood, which has clearly forsaken him. They have never filed a petition to commute his sentence."
"Unless you have further questions or concerns we will go and pay a visit to Prisoner 237. He should be about ready. You see I knew you would be stopping to visit or you would not have been allowed in to the prison. If you have nothing further please follow me."
“In the contrary Warden Mathannis. I am actually gladly surprised that I there is a female in charge of this impressive fortress.” She approaches Martha to shake her hands. “My name is Kazri, and I used to be a Sergeant at Arms of the Waterdeep’s City Guard. I am pleased to meet you.”

Krom listens carefully as the Warden explains Gant's crime and the story behind Revel's End construction. The dwarf waits to see if his companions have other questions for the Warden before saying "I'm ready to meet Vaelish Gant, Warden. Please lead the way."
Although respectfully quiet, the Dragonborn listened with only a passing interest in the begining. A few tidbits, such as the more exacting specifics of places that made up the Lord's Alliance(as he'd learn of it during his stay in Neverwinter), and their collective reach extended so far north do get a raised brow ridge. But, nothing more than that until talk turned to the prisoner and the steps taken to ensure his continued stay.
While both visibly intrigued by their method yet curious of the more exacting details, the flatter(intentional or not) sent his eyes does elicit a grin and humble shrug of the shoulders. Knowing however that the details of their methods was not liable to be answered, Rhogar simply nodded in the end, and mentally readied himself to follow after the others as the Warden lead them on to their next destination.
"A pleasure then." Marta says to Kazri as she shakes her hand. "Perhaps one day I will give this up and become an adventurer. But then..." Her voice trails off and you get the impression there is a story there but she does not seem prepared to share it with you.
She gathers herself and nods curtly. "Follow me then."
You follow Marta out of the room and as you pass him, Slatebone steps in behind you. You head east down a corridor you only got a quick view down earlier. You then enter the Panopticon. In the center of the large room is a hexagonal shaped central tower. You can see 4-foot-tall, 1-foot-wide arrow slits in the walls with the occasional face of a guard watching the cells. Around the perimeter of the room are 24 cells. They appear to be unlit cells behind barred gates. Glancing in an empty one you can see that bolted to the back wall of each cell is an iron bunkbed with a thin mattress atop it and a waste bucket nearby. Turning to the right you approach the last cell before a hallway. Inside you see a man sitting on the bunk. He wears a grey hoodless robe without pockets, and leather slippers without laces.
"Prisoner 237, please stand and approach the bars." Marta calls to the man. As he does so a sneer flashes across his face but he stands and approaches. "This is the Fellowship of the White Cloaks," She says as way of introduction. "They have been granted permission to speak with you on behalf of the Speaker of Bryn Shander." She then stands to the side allowing you access to the area in front of the cell. It is clear by her body language that she will remain there while you speak to the prisoner.
He just stands and watches you, a look of condescension on his face.
