Krom points at the claws mark on the ship "I'm not an expert as Chill, but those claws seem to be very big. Bigger than Cryovain's claws." The dwarf looks around and says to the group "I guess that the kobolds are below the main deck, but before we go, let me locate the orb once again."
Krom chants again the hymn of divination (Locate Object) and focuses his will on the orb. "That way my friends." says the dwarf as soon as he is able to locate the orb.
As they walk, Krom touches Moradin's holy symbol deepening his connection with the All-Father.

Kazri readies her shield and sword. The Dragon Slayer Longsword has slayed one dragon on her hands, but she is not looking forward to face an ancient one, unless absolutely necessary. Kazri takes point, going first, slowly.

Chill inspects the claw marks and agrees with Krom. "Dragon likely. We know there is a dragon that visits here, what else would have done this? And judging by the bow in the railing on the port side I'd say something heavy like a dragon sat there. Not home at the moment but those kobolds are. At least 2 I'd say. They shouldn't be much trouble. Let's get this orb and get out of here before the dragon happens by."
Chill will quietly check out the 2 doors to see if they are locked.
"Mn. Sounds like a plan."Is all Rhogar really had to add apart from command words to activate the Wand of Magic Detection. While unlikely to be necessary, one could not be too careful, or so the Bronze Dragonborn had quietly mused while following Krom's guidance. As for Gorrah, despite having her suggestion thwarted by "needless" carefulness earlier, she still stuck it out with Chill, and was ready to help him at a moment's notice.
Rekuberk draws his greatsword, calling in its power to let flames dance along the blade, wanting to be prepared incase a fight weren't break out once more. He will step forward to stand near the front of the group as they move along.
"Shall stay, and be on the lookout for the dragon if it returns?" Kazri looks around to see if she sees any sign of a dragon.

Rhogar raises a brow ridge, but couldn't see much harm Chill's request... beyond losing losing a bit of time. Gorrah, on the other hand, is thrilled to the point of sending the feeling to Chill. "Just be quick. We cannot be hear for long." He requests while standing by Krom and the rest. And softly at that, though it was unlikely that they hadn't been heard by any kobolds hanging out below deck by that point.

"The orb is very close as I suppose the kobolds." says Krom "Chill, as Rhogar just said please be quick." The dwarf scans the area (Perception23) as Chill explores the room.
The aft castle is taken up by one spacious cabin. Frost covers every surface and furnishing.
A human corpse is slumped against the port-side wall, its left arm draped across part of a heavy chest that’s tucked in an alcove under a staircase. The skeleton wears a jacket and a wide-brimmed hat that hides most of its skull. Under its right arm is a captain’s journal. The floor is strewn with empty wine bottles. Around the neck of the corpse Chill finds a key. He also spots a chest and it doesn't take much to put 2 and 2 together that the key goes to the chest.
The chest, however, is covered in ice and will take several minutes to scrape it off if you want to take the time to look inside. Its stuck to the floor so you can't move it.
Chill looks over his shoulder and sees the others are still on watch. This won't take long he says to himself and his curiosity gets the best of him. He grabs the journal and the key and drawing a dagger he starts to chip away at the ice on the chest.
It takes Chill about 10 minutes to chip enough ice away to open the chest. Inside the chest is a wooden partition that divides the interior into two halves. One side is empty except for a dozen wine-stained corks. The other side contains 150 gp, 520 sp, a small gold bracelet (25 gp), a large gold bracelet (250 gp), and a gray bag of tricks. ((All added to your inventory))
As Krom sees what Chill plans to do, the dwarf asks Rekuberk "Lad, that chest is encased in ice and it will take Chill a lot of time, time that we do not have to spare, to get it open. Would you mind to use your flaming sword on the chest?"

Whenever Rhogar is alerted to Chill's original plan(having stayed out on the deck), be it the hearing of chipping of ice pass the minute mark or Krom's side comment, even the Dragonborn cannot help take a peek inside the cabin. "I.... Chill...." Rhogar starts to say. Yet seeming unable to find the words, sighs, shakes his head, then returns his attention towards those on the deck.
"While what's going on in there is being dealt with, I'm going to go check out the steps. Though I doubt they aren't aware of our presence by now, it it would be best to have some eyes there." Rhogar doesn't wait for much response from the others before heading off for the stairs middle of the deck, and -- while inspecting it -- descends at least part way down for a look around at the lower levels with eyes that could peer through the darkest gloom. Though at some point just before making the inspection, a few words in archaic words in draconic summons a small measure of divine power to help focus the mind for the effort to come.
Chill seems to be taking longer than the rest of the party is willing to wait and after a minute Krom checks on him. Unable to dissuade Chill from seeing what treasures lie in the chest he recruits Rekuburk to help with his flaming sword. But even this takes a few minutes and while saves a bit of time Rhogar still grows impatient.
The threat of the dragon looms over the party.
Making his way down the steps Rhogar is careful to watch for traps. He knows kobold's to be tricky creatures who are known to lay traps but he finds none. Looking around he sees that the ship’s hold contains heaps of snow and four tied-down jolly boats covered with rime. In the forward starboard corner rests a large pile of treasure covered with ice. Standing next to the hoard, frozen with its maw open in a roar, is a white feline creature sheathed in ice. There is a door on the north wall and another on the south wall.
Kazri looks around when she reaches the bottom floor (D9), and uses her Divine Sense. (Is the white feline creature for real, and if it is, is it still alive?)

Though a touch curious seeing the frozen beast, Rhogar soon dismisses both it and the hoard, figuring it to belong the dragon. And while he might not have known much about white dragons in particular, he recalled enough about their hordes as to not wish to bother with it. Chill and the rest were already playing a somewhat dangerous game with the chest upstairs. For if the stories were true, it may just able and willing to hunt down 'horde thieves'. Regardless of the ship being its layer or not, or how far the thieves ran....
Rhogar grimaced at the thoughts, before shaking his head in dismissal. "Just stories..." He murmured, then focused on his connection to Gorrah. Up above, the psuedodragon suddenly perked up from its observation post within the captain's cabin(presumably), and abruptly flew off down to the same level as Rhogar, taking the Dragonborn's original path. "It would not have been more than a few minutes since they would've brought it here. So, it is unlikely its among that-..." Rhogar whispered over to Kazri, while gesturing to the gold pile. "We need to find 'them'." With that said, Rhogar looked to the southern door closer to the stairs, and would begin his approach. If he could get close enough to the southern door without incident, both he and Gorrah would press the side of their heads to the door for a listen, prior to considering their next move.
After freeing the chest from its icy cage Krom urges Chill to join Rhogar "Let's go Chill, the orb and the Kobolds await us." As Krom joins Rhogar and Kazri, the dwarf whispers to them "Our objective is close, it was about 50ft below us and towards the stern of the ship when we were on the main deck. I'm about to lose the connection with it, but I doubt that they will move it."
