"Agreed Mr. Nimbatuul. We should not tarry." Kazri then turns to Krom. "I believe the tests might be connected to Auril. So presumably, if you are one of her followers, it should not be an issue." Of all the tests, Kazri thinks about the Isolation one, then she remembers the years she spent in the wild, away from civilization.

"Good idea Chill, we will keep a safe distance as we walk down." Krom chants an hymn of guidance touching the tabaxi's shoulder. The dwarf waits a few moments and then, shield and hammer at the ready, follows Chill.
You move up the hallway, passing the unopened door on your right and the open room with stairs leading up on your left.
You now all see what Chill saw earlier. Six slender, gargoyle-like creatures made of ice squat on ledges twenty feet above the ground that protrude from the wall of this semicircular chamber. Near the back wall, the mist that blankets the floor flows down a staircase made of polished ice.
Chill moves down the stairs ahead of the others.
The staircase descends into a vaulted chamber. A nine-foot-high railing of sculpted ice hugs the staircase as it descends to the chamber floor, which, like the stairs, is smooth and gleaming. A walrus as big as an elephant is having a grand old time rolling and sliding on the ice, paying you little heed.
Chill, presumably, informs the rest of the party of what he sees.
The Dragonborn seemed skeptical when it came to the walrus, and short of a suggestion by others to hang back still, would continue down the stairs for a personal view of the next layer. Both Rhogar and Gorrah just stand at the stairs, staring at the ice skating walrus in both surprise and fascination. "I... cannot say I expected to see that when we came down here. Do you suppose that walrus is some form of...eh... no. Even I doubt it would be a guardian. Though, that does not mean it might turn hostile if we should approach it recklessly." He comments on offhandedly. If/When the others are downstairs as well, he looks to Kazri, then just gestures with his head to the creature.

Kazri is surprised to see a Walrus, a large one it seems, here. She looks at Oli, and casts Speak with Animals. "Would you like to join the fellow over there playing on the ice? I won't be far, and any sign of danger, come back to me at once." Oli slowly makes his way closer to the Walrus. "Can I join?" (LOL)
(I am going to take a ownbears have no problem walking on ice?)

Krom replies to Rhogar "I too didn't expect to find such a creature here, hopefully it does not part of those trials the giant spoke of." The dwarf pauses a few moment to observe the walrus "But I think that it may be a guardian of some sort. Someone placed it here for a reason, that walrus could not have entered the fortress by itself." The dwarf stays near to the stairs examining the door on his right as Kazri and Oli moves towards the walrus.
Oli walks out onto the ice and at first he slips a but but then gains his footing. The walrus at first does not notice Oli unto he let's out a playful growl. The walrus then spins around and see both Oli and then the rest of you.
"Ah, friends! Welcome!" the walrus cries in common as he slides around Oli and then towards you.
As the walrus starts speaking in common and slides towards the group, Krom whispers "Another awakened creature, let's stay in guard." The dwarf lowers his war hammer and says to the walrus "Hello there."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kazri approaches the walrus, and she encourages Oli to play with the creature. "Greetings, my name is Kazri. What is your name? May my friend here, Oli, join you?" Kazri tries to determine if the Walrus is in fact friendly.

Rhogar nodded along in agreement and couldn't help but add, "At this rate I'm starting to wonder and worry if all creatures in these lands can converse like so though." Such wonder aside, the dragonborn did his best to not appear threatening in simply folding his hands behind his back and effecting his best toothless smile in greeting to the walrus. "And if you do not mind us being so bold, could you tell us of these adjoining rooms down here?"

"Oh yes, we can play." The walrus answers happily to the request to have Oli join in the fun.
"The rooms, yes the rooms. The tunnel to the north ends before the tomb of a frost giant queen, who died before the Frostmaiden took control of the island. The tunnel to the south leads to a vault where servants of the Frostmaiden store the treasures of their faith. To enter the vault, one must pass four tests. Each test reflects an aspect of the Frostmaiden: cruelty, endurance, isolation, and preservation. The tests lie beyond the other four doors that lead away from the room. But that is no fun. She set me to guard this place after awakening me but I found that since I can think for myself now I'm not interested in that. She isn't here right now anyways so what is she to do? So I play on the ice."
Then motioning with a large flipper the walrus beckons Oli to slip and slide on the ice.
"Well, I must say that is good to hear. It is unfortunate that we cannot all enjoy such frivolity, but our time grows short on this island." Rhogar admits actually looking a touch saddened by the thought. "If you have any advice about this test, they would most certainly be appreciated. Even a hint of what the previous giant residents might've spoken of beyond the names of the test. If not, then-" He shrugs haplessly. "As some may say, 'it is what it is', and I at least will not disturb your fun any further."

Kazri will try to stay close to Oli, to make sure that he is ok.

Chill nearly laughed out loud after the greeting from the walrus but he kept a wary eye on it and the other doors while the others did the talking.
