After Chill disappears in the blizzard, Kazri walks forward a few paces so she is front of her companions, and facing the incoming group. She digs her shield into the snow next to her, and have both hands up at chest height. “Greetings! It may not look like it, but we are not followers of the Frostmaiden. We do not mean you any harm, actually, we would like to ask you a few questions, if you will permit.”
While Kazri is speaking, she uses her Divine Sense to detect Undead presence.

As you move forward Kazri detects no signs of undead. She also sees that Oli did not come with them. Perhaps only those who went through the first door were taken. Something to keep in mind.
Chill easily dissappears into the blowing snow as the group moves forward. At the same time several figures approach you from the camp one taking point. They are armed with spears and you quickly see that they are men, humans. They wear heavy furs and hides. They hold their spears at the ready but as your groups get closer to each other the men suddenly stop short and lift their spears up.
You hear the whispers of Auril and The Frostmaiden until the leader raises a hand and the others fall silent.
"Emissaries of the Frostmaiden, we greet you, we of the Bear Tribe." The leader says.
The fact that they think they are aligned with the Frostmaiden did not escape Kazri, but she will keep it that way for now, as long as they are not threatened. "Greetings. We come from the Frostmaiden's castle, Grimskalle.May we ask what are you doing here?"

The man look a bit confused by your question. "Doing here? We are the Bear Tribe and this is where we live. But it is of no matter, you have come. We will take you to the king, Gunvald Halraggson will want to know you are here."
The man gestures towards the camp and for you to follow him.
As you watch the others you count 6 total men dressed in hides and furs bearing spears. You notice that they keep glancing at the snowflakes overing over your heads. They seemed watchful, fearful. They look out into the tundra, into the storm as they are watchful but don't give any indication that they look for anything specific.
Kazri knows nothing specific about this tribe, but you have been in Icewind Dale long enough to have heard of the Reghed Tribes that live in the area.
The Reghedmen, also known as the Reghed barbarians or the men of the tundra were the barbarian tribes of Icewind Dale. They eked out a harsh and bitter life between the Reghed Glacier and the Sea of Moving Ice. Each entirety of the Reghedmen people lived within one of several tribes, each of which was ruled by a king. Known tribes were the Tribe of the Elk, the Tribe of the Wolf, the Tribe of the Bear, the Tribe of the Tiger, the Tribe of the Seal and the Tribe of the Caribou.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the barbarian speaks again Krom realises that he is speaking a very thick common. The dwarf then nods and says at the rest of the Fellowship "We will soon find out what this is about. The sooner we are done with this, the better." Krom follows the barbarians and from time to time he too looks out in the tundra (Perception, 19).
“Very well. Do take us to your king.” Kazri follows the man. Kazri is confused by now. “What does this all has to do with cruelty?” She thinks to herself.

Chill watches from outside the camp as the others appear to speak with the men of the camp. If they head deeper into the camp he will begin to follow at a distance being wary of watchmen and others within the camp.
The man nods and motions you to follow him. As you follow in line one of the others falls in line behind you as the leader takes you into the camp. The remaining four men spread out along the perimeter of the camp and disappear from view. You realize that these men were the guard posted to watch the perimeter of the camp and that would explain why they kept looking out into the tundra.
As you pass through the outer circle of tents you see that they are smaller than the inner circle of large tents. Scattered among these tents are campfires around which members of the clan like to gather. The tents are crude yet sturdy structures with wooden frames and walls made of layered bark and animal hides.
You see grim faces from the occasional tribe member as you make your way into the camp. And while you see campfires you realize that you do not see or smell food being cooked which you might expect. Another thing comes to mind as you also realize that you do not hear dogs. You saw the sleds, and you know that dogs are used to pull those sleds, yet you see none. Nor do you hear any dogs barking.
Chill notices much of the same thing. The people look tired and worn and he easily avoids contact from anyone as he follows through the camp.
The leader whom you follow approaches the largest of the tents in the inner circle. "Here is the king's tent." Outside of the tent you see 4 tribespeople lined up outside his tent. While the guards you met at the perimeter were young these 4 that are lined up are elderly. 2 old women and 2 old men, bent and frail yet still with strength enough wait outside the king's tent. A grim faced man stands watch over them.
The leader pushes the flap of the entrance to the tent open and you follow him inside. You see that an extra bedroll lays near the entrance. A low table is set up in this tent, which is heated by lamps burning whale oil and decorated with hunting trophies. The second man who followed you remains outside.
Sitting at the table is a large man with heavy furs and hide. The hide of a bear sits over his head and the skin makes a large cloak. Behind him stands a woman whose face is covered by a wooden mask carved in the likeness of a bear.
"Emissaries of the Frostmaiden king Halraggson. I brought them before you at once." The man you followed says as he steps to the side.
The large man stands as the woman behind him gives a short bow.
"I am king Gunvald Halraggson, greetings to you and to the Cold Goddess. She is truly the Storm-bringer as this storm has nearly been the end of us. Have you come to aid us in our desperate time of need?"
The dwarf follows the barbarians as they lead the group inside their camp. At first Krom, suspecting an ambush of some sort, keeps an hand near his war hammer, but as soon as he sees the conditions the barbarians have to endure, the dwarf's hand goes to his holy symbol and under his breath he mutters "By the All-Father's beard, we will end this winter."
As their escort presents them to the barbarian king, Krom salutes him back "Greetings King Gunvald." The dwarf is about to say something more, but he looks at the others waiting for them to speak.
Apart from an almost casual glance back to the escort to the back, Rhogar calmly and quietly went along with the flow of things in self assurance of the group's safety, if only given the local's apparent state. A feeling that is only reinforced during the short trip. Though he would raise a brow at the lack of dogs, an epiphany comes swiftly and leaves him wide-eyed for a few moments. When it quickly becomes clear they were but moments away from meeting the king, he again screws his face up into a more neutral expression.
"Greetings as well, King Gunvald." He said after others are given a chance to introduce themselves, before then inclining his head in a slight but respectful bow. "It is a shame we could not meet on more pleasant times. But such is fate. And on the subject of it in regards to your people, we would first know a thing or two of your tribe, your... offerings to the goddess, as is her due, and a few other things."

Feeling pity for these folks living in these frigid conditions. Kazri rests her shield by her leg, and removes her helmet. She hasn’t done that in public for a long time, and it feels slightly abnormal for the Paladin, but she wanted to imply that she meant no harm to the king, and show some deference as well. She holds her helmet by her hip. “Please, King Halraggson. Do tell us about your situation, so that we can better assist you.”

He looks at you grimly. The woman behind him nods in agreement.

Krom barely maintains a straight face as the king finishes to speak. "King Gunvald, how many members does the Bear tribe have now?" says the dwarf placing his right hand on the head of the war hammer.
Rhogar clenches his jaw at the request, and would say nothing without first looking to the satchel at his side. If left to his own devices in the intervening time it takes for the King to answer, the apparent anger that boiled up to the surface slowly disappated as an epiphany lit up his expression. He then looks up and over to his companions with a grim expression. "Whatever you all are considering, it will only be but a temporary measure. One not liable to last before our ultimate mission in these lands is complete."He warns them, though it visibly pained him to do so, if the wince was anything to go by.
"So think twice before speaking." He then turns to the king. "Answer me this, King Gunvald. Do you or your people know anything of the Cave of Hunger, and where it might be located?"
