During the travel east, Kazri makes sure that Oli is doing fine. She realizes that the young Owlbear is in elements, but she just want to make sure he is safe. She thanks Krom for also watching out after her charge. As the companions rest under Vellynne's Dome, Kazri thanks Rhogar for being thoughtful and preparing a meal before departing to the wilderness. She will leave the conversation about magic to the people that know about it. Her understanding is that her use of magic is different from Vellynne or Rhogar's. She believes the little magic that she wields is divine in nature, most likely similar to Krom's. That Pelor grants her all the knowledge that she needs.
When they spot the group approaching them on the fourth day, she tries to identify what tribe they might belong to. She keeps her hands on the hilt of her sword, and her shield at the ready.

The Professor Orb answers Krom's last question. "Any phaerimm left? It is believed they were all hunted down and killed. They are not know to roam freely on Toril any longer."
On the fourth day of your travels as you crest another ridge, you spot a dozen humanoids approaching, their cloaks flapping in the wind sweeping down from the eastern glacier. As you approach one of them waves at you to signal his peaceful intentions.
Chill can see that the one who waves does seem to have peaceful intentions and reads nothing in the person's actions to suggest otherwise. Even the others that hang back do not look alarmed or defensive, as if they knew they would meet you here.
Looking closely Chill recognizes the clothing, they indeed are Reghed barbarians, of the Elk Tribe. You recall the Test of Endurance, in which to you travelled with them for many hours following a herd of reindeer. Was that a dream or did it really happen?
Rhogar recalls that he was able to gain the name of one of them, Hengar Aesnvaard. He told you of the location of the entrance to the Caves of Hunger. Perhaps this is a sign that you are close?
Chill told the others. "The Elk tribe. We followed a herd of reindeer with them, a tough journey that left us exhausted. They were peaceful and meant us no harm. Let us approach and see what they want."
"Mayhaps. I would be lying if I didn't admit curiosity on whether any of their members recognize us, or if the test was purely of the mind and soul." Rhogar mentions, and had no others already began moving to meet the tribe halfway, he'd usher Duchess along and make progress to 'bridge' the gap. "And if nothing else, they can be informative in other ways, if they are of a mind for parlay. So come my friends, come!"

"I remember that intense march very well." replies Krom as Chill relays the information to the group. "That's make two of us Rhogar, I'm too very curious to discover if we did actually travel here during our test." says the dwarf after the dragonborn shares his opinion on the situation. "Let's talk to them." adds as he follows Rhogar's mount.
Kazri remembers their encounter with the Elk Tribe. That is when magic was somehow suppressed, and her boots did not keep her warm. That wasn't particularly a good time for her boots to fail her, and instinctively she tests the grip of her boots on the frozen ground to make sure that their magical properties haven't gone away. "Jarund." Kazri says to the group. "If memory servers me, their King's name is Jarund. We shall find out soon if the test wasn't only a dream... A bad dream at that."

As you approach the group one of them steps further forward. He signals his peaceful intentions and he directs you to a rocky alcove where you can enjoy a reprieve from the wind. You see that there are ten members of the Elk tribe present.
"I am Mjenir, shaman of the Elk Tribe. I have had a vision of your journey to the Reghed Glacier. I remember your help as we followed the herd of reindeer and you were honorable people. There is grave danger ahead. Tigers with ice in their veins come to spill your blood upon the snow. They will do everything in their power to keep you from finding what the Frostmaiden has preserved under the ice. We will escort you to the foot of the Reghed Glacier and show you the place that you seek. It is less than a days journey now."
"So we were actually here..." says Krom as the shaman finishes speaking. The dwarf placing an hand on his hammer, says with firm conviction, "Thank you for your warning. We've travelled far for completing our quest, and those monstrosities will not stop us. If they attempt to, they will find out the hard way that our Fellowship is not easily defeated."

Kazri may have told you about the last challenge and your encounter with the Tiger tribe. Each of you, except Kazri, had gotten lost while watching the Tiger tribes camp while they raided the Elk Tribe camp. Kazri recalls losing each member of the party and then being alone. The rest of you can only recall being lost in a snow storm and being alone.
Kazri is unable to recognize any of the Elk Tribe members. You had trekked for many hours in bitter cold and blowing snow. Every member of the Elk Tribe had their faces covered and there was little opportunity to get to know any of them.
Only Rhogar got a name from any of the.
The members present here are alert but peaceful. There is no indication they mean any of you any harm.
As the truth of the parties prior actions during the trials hit, both Gorrah and Rhogar close their eyes and clench their jaws over the more bitter aspects recalled in the moment. At least those aspects he could remember in the first place. Though a chilling thought made him still grimace and shake his head over conflicted feelings stirred up in its wake.
Finally, he lets out a breath and opens his eyes once more. "Hengar Aesnvaard. Is he yet still among your members? I'd apologize for not recognizing him sooner, but you all were quite covered up back then -- which was more than understandable."He tries to effect a chuckle, but it comes out so hollow that he almost stops. "I'd like to thank him again for the directions here, and to tribe at large for the help going forward. I... I don't know how may even begin to repay such a debt."

"We should resume our march; the sooner we reach the Glacier, the better." says Krom adjusting the straps on his backpack. "Those tigers know we are coming; it's better to not give them too much time to organize themselves."
Kazri nods in agreement, and she signals Oli to join her in the front. Kazri and Oli will stay close to the leading tribes members.

Mjenir looks to Rhogar. "Yes, Hengar still lives. As for any debt, if you break this eternal curse of darkness that will be payment enough. We will aid you in anyway that we can." Mjenir motions to the group of Elk Tribesman and Hengar steps forward. "It is good to see you again friend Rhogar. Today will be a honorable day for the Elk Tribe."
The two of you have the opportunity to get reacquainted as you assemble into one large group and love off towards the east again.
It is late in the day when the Reghed Glacier slowly rises hundreds of feet into the sky as you get closer. The foot of the glacier is still a half-mile away when suddenly, nearly two dozen figures burst out of the snow sixty feet away from you. They are spaced roughly ten feet apart and begin advancing in a line.
Hengar turns to you and speaks. "We will hold off the Tigers. You must run to the glacier and make your entry. Straight forward now, you cannot miss the spot. We will hold them back. The fate of the Dale rests with you."
Seeing the ambush for what it was, Rhogar's first instincts has electricity already crackling from his maw. Yet not even a full breath is taken before the wisdom in Hengar's words gives him pause. "... As you wish, friend Hengar! I would wish you luck, but I tribe as enduring as yours need no such thing!"He flashes a toothy grin, and then turns to the party. "About and forward then, White Cloaks! Our battle lies elsewhere."He assured the group, and would eagerly lead the charge from the back of Duchess the moment a chance presented itself with the Tiger Clan being fully engaged.

"May the All-Father strengthen your arms and bolster your spirits!" Shouts Krom in the direction of the Elk tribe as he dashes after Rhogar towards the glacier.
