The party moves carefully into the next cavern, aware that the shadows may be more than what they seemed. A light mist also fills the area just east of the southern stairway.
As you enter the room the shadows come away from the walls and 12 shadows of darkness converge towards you and attack.
Combat - party first (any order), then 12 shadows.

As the shadows rush towards the group, Krom holds firmly in front of him the shield etched with Moradin's Holy Symbol, chanting a word of power. The shield flashes with white radiant energy engufling the whole group in a protective aura. "Stay close to me! The All-Father's light will protect us from the undead life-leeching touch!"
Reaction: (if one of the shadows hit a member of the group within 5ft from Krom) Fighting Style: Interception Krom uses his shield to reduce the damage by 14
Chill snaps up his crossbow and taking steady aim fires at one of the shadows. He stays near the back of the group but still within the aura that Krom has provided.
Rhogar instinctively swings his staff to ward off some of the approaching shadows with one hand, but it is the other that held the true true threat. "Linmos!"As his own word of power left his maw, what was once mere embers of divine flames that gathered in hand are snuffed out in an instance; only to reappear above some of the shadows, tracing a sharp circle in the air that would summon and release a deluge of radiance, purging their existence. "As you wish, Master Krom."He called out after mentally bidding Gorrah to rush forth and sink her stinger into the closest and hopefully weakened shadow.

As Krom moves to protect the party from the shadows and their potential injuries the rest of the group springs into action.
Chill sends bolt into the heart of a shadow which vanishes from sight.
Rhogar sends a radiant flame down on two of the shadows. One moves deftly out of the way but the other burns up and disappears. Rhogar is pleased to see that the the shadows seem to be vulnerable to the power of the radiant magic.
Gorrah also drives her stinger into a shadow and while the physical attack seems to be effective, there is no effect of the poisoning.
Oli and Kazri team up and cut one of the shadows down and Kazri's blade slices through another, though it still comes forward.
Vellynne also seems to injure on of the shadows but they still move forward.

Oli and Krom easily fend off the attacks of the shadows. Chill however finds himself suddenly in melee with two of them. While twisting out of the way of one, the other shadow reaches out and grabs his shoulder. The aura provided by Krom does reduce the chilling effect of the attack but Chill finds himself feeling weaker from the touch (Strength -3). Krom is not close enough to block the attack.

Krom, while paying attention to keep everyone within his protective aura, swings his blessed war hammer at the nearest shadow, the head of the hammer englufed with purifying flames. At the same time, seeing that two shadows have flanked Chill, the dwarf chants an hymn of evocation conjuring a massive maul next to tabaxi. The spectral construct swung by an invisible hand, attempts to crush one of the shadows.

"Cursed things -- Gorrah! To Chill!"Rhogar barks as he himself hurriedly tugged at the weave to unleash another pair of blue divine flames upon the shadows; one for Chill's harasser and the other for Gorrah's original target, hopefully freeing up the psuedodragon in turn. But even if by some miracle his flames weren't enough, that wouldn't stop Gorrah from zipping away to try and help her favored partner in crime!
Action(Rhogar): Twinned(1sp) cast (Cantrip)Scorching Grace on 2 Shadows(one targeting Chill & the other attacked previously by Gorrah). Dex Save(DC 16) or take 8 Radiant Damage.

Suddenly feeling weaker Chill had a momentary surge of fear. Not used to being directly in melee he was concerned he was too weak to escape the shadows. It was bad but not bad as it could have been. He wasn't really hurt and strength was not his... strength.
However he also found himself flat-footed and unable to move a he has taken the time to fire his crossbow after taking steady aim.
He drops his crossbow and sweeps out his rapier and waits a moment as he hears Gorrah is coming. Once Gorrah is within melee range of one of the shadows still around him he attacks!
Vellynne finishes off the shadow she was attacking while Oli also finishes one off. 2 more are burned up by Rhogar as Chill also kills one. Krom and Kazri team up to destroy a shadow as Gorrah kills one.
2 shadows remain as the mist seen earlier coalesces into the body of the hyena that attacked earlier.
