Chill ate his breakfast quietly as he watched the others. He held in his hand the cat shaped stone he always had around.
"We will likely return and rest here again as this seems a safe place to have a base camp. We will let you know what we have found and give updates when we return. I fear this may be a muti day job."
When they return back to the city Chill will pay attention to see if the drow or any others may have passed along the same route while they rested.
"Mn. As you both wish. You've both been through enough, but any last minute assistance is as, Master Krom has said, most welcome."Rhogar flashes a grin, before returning to the work of turning any breakfast leftovers into some sweetened treats for the day. Then mustering his will, he weaves together several spells to bolster both the party and Xerophon as well, despite his ultimately staying behind. The dragonborn then shares a long look with Gorrah that -- after close to a minute of staring each other down -- the pseudodragon looked reluctant but bowed her head in acquiesce prior to being picked up by the dragonborn like a babe.
"As for the Observatory, I don't see why not. We just need to keep in mind to give that old tree a wide berth while we're... actually!"The dragonborn turns to the Dryad (or tree, had she merged back with it). "Forgive me if this something that has been brought up before, but you wouldn't happen to know anything about the, uhm, Nether... Oak? I believe it was what it was called-" He shoots Xerophon a quick side-eyed, seeking to confirm in a look he'd gotten the name right. "I-It's the, uhm, a treant we met in the city, and a rather ornery one at that. I don't suppose you know of any means to entreat with it and perhaps learn more of its past experiences without him getting all hostile with us?"

Hathowyn tells you that she knows nothing about the Nether Oak but knows enough of treants to know they are powerfully strong and not to be trifled with.
You make your leave of Vellynne and head back down the passage and onto the ice bridge that leads to the city. Chill searches the path to see if there is any sign of others heading to the city during your rest but he finds nothing to indicate anyone else has gone down the passage. As the group marches through the lost city towards the observatory, Krom tightens his grip on his warhammer and keeping his voice as low as possible says to the rest of the group "I wonder what other surprises this city has prepared for us..." The dwarf points in the direction of the Tower of Necromancy "All things considered, the demi-lich might be lurking around that area. It might be best to avoid it for now." "I also wonder if the Bazaar or the Museum might still have items that could help us in our quest. The Bazaar is near the Observatory; we could take a quick look as we proceed on."

Chill watched the trail as they made their way back down the passage. Finding no sign that anyone else has passed through he reports this to the others.
"This is good. Either the drow are still in the city or have not returned recently. This would also mean that Avarice has not gotten into the city ahead of us. We must be wary though as time is likely not on our side. Either will come soon enough."
As Xerophon points out each building he does his best to memorize which buildings are which.
You say your goodbyes to Xerophon who heads back up the passage and out of sight. You turn once again to the city and make your way into it. Passing through some of the same streets littered with rock and debris you pass the prison and skirt around the edge of the Arboretum to avoid disrupting the treant. You also give space to the Wellspring of Answer and soon find yourself crossing a large plaza.
A large market hall sits at one end of this plaza, its four broken towers leaning inward. Faded pennants hang above the entrance, frozen stiff. A loud clatter resounds from within the hall as you approach.

Chill slips the hood of his cloak over his head and silently heads towards the entry of the bazaar. Doing his best to be quiet and unseen he sees if he can peek inside and see what is going on.
Chill carefully makes his way into the entrance of the bazaar. Inside he sees a warren of mangled shop fronts crushed by chunks of ice and stone.
The banging continues from the back of bazaar. He cannot see anything at first except that something large moves around but he can't make out what it is. But a moment later it comes into view.
A large headless golem is blindly rampaging around inside the building and has seemingly destroyed everthing in the bazaar.
Kazri gets closer to the Golem (10ft), and she concentrates on the ground under the creature. Suddenly, spectral vines spring up and tries to restrain it. (STR/DEX Save DC15)
