The owlbear cub looks hesitantly at you and then the food and then back at you. A moment passes and you fear that the creature may attack. Instead though it toddles over on legs that seem a bit too short for its body and takes the food. It then nuzzles your arm and after quickly swallowing what you have offered noses around for more.
"Hummmm.... Gentlemen, would anybody happen to have something more adequate to feed this creature?" Kazri's halo starts to glow, stressed that she doesn't have anything, according to her standards, appropriate to feed the little one. She quickly takes more more of her rations, to see what else does it eat.

The whole time Kazri is getting cozy with the beast, Gorrah is staring both suspiciously (or perhaps better yet enviously) at it from Chip's shoulder. She would communicate the image of a cartoonish looking piece of hind meat to Kazri, followed by the image of a laughing Rhogar and feelings of contentment. After a moment's pause, she then cocks her head to the side and sends the image of the saddle bags into everyone's mind (one after the other), followed by the vague feeling of confusion.

Rekuberk shakes his head and can only offer up a bit of a shrug. "At the moment most of my rations went to those goblins we first met. I think that with a bit of time perhaps we could hunt something to feed it."
Krom watches Kazri as she approaches the owlbear cub and gives some of her rations. "Are you sure that it is wise to feed that cub?" asks the dwarf to Kazri "It may look cute, but remember owlbears are very dangerous creatures." seeing that Kazri still plans to feed the cub, Krom shakes his head and says to her "I have some honey, maybe owlbears like honey as normal bears do." The dwarf takes out from his backpack the Alchemy Jug and says "Make honey!". He then uncork the jug, pours some honey into a tin cup and place it next to Kazri near the owlbear cub.
The owlbear cub moves up and sniffs the cup for a moment. It then begins to lick the cup, making seemingly joyful noises. Soon the cup is empty. It again nuzzles against Kazri.
"I apologize Master Krom. I feel responsible for its situation. Without its parents, it might not survive long." She takes the cup with the honey. "Here little one, you might enjoy this more." She speaks to the baby owlbear. "I know this is not the right decision, but I cannot bring myself to just strike it down and be done with it. I would also be the last one to jeopardize anyone's safety. I am conflicted on what to do now. Do you think we can find someone at Bryn Shander that might be able to take care of it. If just for a little while?"
Kazri gets up. "Mr. Nimbatuul is right, we should not linger here for too long. I would like to take responsibility for this little one. For the mean time, until it is able to fend by itself..."
As the cub nuzzles against her legs, she takes a deep sigh. "It seems that I don't have much of a choice now..."

"Looks like you became a mother a little faster than you might have thought possible." Chip would say with a grin. "I mean, it is kind of cute in a "rip your arms off and eat your face in the middle of the night when it is older...." kind of way."
"No need to apologise lass, you have a good heart." replies Krom "But I do not know if we will find someone in Bryn Shander or in the Ten Towns that will take care of it." the dwarf moves a bit closer to Kazri and the owlbear cub. "Anyway, as Rhogar said, we should get going, we have to inform the Speaker and the Sheriff about the treaty with the goblins." Before heading out of the cavern, Krom fills the owlbear cub's cup with more honey.
"It's certainly going to need more than honey to eat, that's for sure. It looks a bit big to fit in a saddle bag also. You could just leave it for nature to handle itself. It will survive on its or not, that is nature's way." Chill says.
Kazri takes another deep sigh. "Hummm... Master Krom... Would you mind bringing my shield back to the wagon? I think we will have a very precious cargo." Kazri kneels down. "I guess you want to come with us little one? May I carry you?" She stretches her hands to see if the owlbear cub would like to be carried. If so, she will carry it to the wagon.

When everyone finally comes out, Rhogar's intial look of relief slowly turns to confusion, and then abruptly to surprise noticing the little owlbear. It seems despite the ability to share senses with Gorrah, neither warlock or familiar deemed it important to distract the other via this bond. Krom nods to Kazri "I will take it lass, do not worry." The dwarf retrieves Kazri's shield and follows the rest of the group outside. The dwarf smiles back at Rhogar's comment "Then we will have to slay one more white dragon Rhogar!" Krom pauses for a moment and then continues "I have no problems with us taking care of that little owlbear cub, but we should not forget our quest in this dale. We will be probably find ourselves in battling with monsters and Chosens of the Frostmaiden very soon, it may be very dangerous for that cub." The dwarf removes some of the snow from his beard and with a smile he says "Anyway, one problem at the time, let's head back to Bryn Shander my friends."
"Perhaps with enough training it could become a valuable companion. It is best to begin with things now as once it grows I imagine the more wild side of it will start to show." Rekuberk says as he keeps an eye on the cub, going through his rations to give what he can to it.
The owlbear cub looks up at Kazri but does not seem to want to be carried. Though it has short legs it seems to be able to keep up with you as it moves about as fast a Krom does on foot.
You head back east again, following the mountains and making camp as best you can. Each night Kazri spends some time with the cub, feeding it and caring for it. Chill is even able to hunt down an deer one day to help feed it and add some fresh meat to your diets.
Day 17, Month of Hammer (Deepwinter)
It is early afternoon when you return to Bryn Shander. As you reach the Southwest gate the guards stop you. "And where do you think you are going with that beast? We can't have that running loose in the streets." One says gruffly, pointing at the owlbear cub. "Though I know a man who would pay well to have it."
"Hello there! We are the Fellowship of the White Cloaks returning from a very important mission on behalf of the Speaker of Bryn Shander. Sheriff Markham Southwell is expecting us,." replies Krom to the guards.
"Aye, we know who you are but we can't have wild beasts running the streets. What assurances do we have it won't wreck havoc in the town? It may be small now, but we need to be sure to keep the townsfolk safe." he replies.
