"Too many days have passed since the attack." says Krom as Chill informs the group that he hasn't found any tracks or clues. "We should check the shrine." continues the dwarf As the group walks towards the shrine, the dwarf says to the group "I'm afraid that we can not linger here for too long, the duergar warlord and their dragon may attack the Dale very soon. Vellyne Harpell asked us to join her as soon as possible."
Krom stops for a moment to chant an hymn of abjuration (sending) contacting Vellyne Harpell "We arrived at Good Mead. We will soon be on our way to your location. Provide further details."
"Very well then. I would also like to visit this shrine." Kazri makes sure there are no danger, and she will stay at the back of the group as they leave the forest.

Rhogar looked confused for a moment, before seeming to only just fully digest Krom's words and chuckle at some unspoken mistake on his part. "We shan't tarry here for too too long, I assure Mr. Krom. But as foolish as this may sound given the pressing concern, it would not sit well to leave the payment for the hospitality for a later date." He admits with a weak grin. Beyond that though, he quietly follows along to the shrine with a reluctant looking Gorrah.

Krom nods at Rhogar as they walk "I did not express my intentions clearly enough, but I agree with you Rhogar. We can not leave a giant free to roam the forest, but since time is against us, we will have to find the creature and deal with it as soon as possible." The dwarf places an hand on his hammer as he finishes to speak.
”Indeed Mr. Nimbatuul. Perhaps we could look further into the forest for signs.” Kazri looks to Chill if he would agree.

You move away from the edge of the forest, the location the giant creature had gone, and chose to return to town again and visit the shrine. Sky gives you a questioning look but doesn't voice the question that seems to be there and leads you to the shrine.
As you walk Krom receives a message in return from Vellynne
Captured by duergar for frost druids to prevent me from finding Ythryn. Taken to fortress of Sunblight in Spine of the World. Great danger here.
You find the shrine to be a vacant building that stands on the lakeshore and has a crow-haunted steeple protruding from its peak. Unlike the mead hall, which is well cared for, the shrine’s painted icons of the god of war wielding a flaming sword are chipped and faded, and its spacious interior stands mostly empty except for a long table on which rests a body covered with a blanket. The body is that of Speaker Kendrick Rielsbarrow, a giant of a man in his forties. Pulling the sheet back you see that he must have died from three stab wounds to the chest. This is inline with what Sky told you of the attack. The body is preserved by the cold.
As soon as Vellynne's message, Krom immediately informs the group. "Bad news, bad news indeed." adds at the end "I fear that we are running out of time, we will have to find this giant as soon as possible."
Krom glances at the chipped and faded icons and as he walks towards the body of the Speaker he says "I take that there are no priests of Tempus in this village."
"I'll start working on the ritual. Hopefully we will be able to gather useful information." Krom then starts chanting an hymn (Speak with dead), as soon as he finishes the ritual, the dwarf looks at the Speaker's body and asks to his spirit. "The day you died, was it your first encounter with the giant?" "Can you describe the giant to us?" "Did you recognize them?" "Was the giant's attack the first attack of a minion of the Frostmaiden to Good Mead?" "Do you know where the giant's lair is located?"
"Hmn. That certainly complicates things, but... perhaps not terribly so under the right circumstances." Rhogar commented following an initial grimace at the news. Not wanting to disrupt the ritual at play with further speculations, the Dragonborn opted to keep the rest of his thoughts to himself and stand a fair ways apart from the dwarf; but, he'd go on to observe intently while absently sharing his thoughts telepathically at least with Gorrah.

Chill looked back at the forest as they walked away. He kept his quiet though and followed along with the others to the shrine. The shrine itself held little interest to him.
"Priests of Tempus, no, none at all. i'm not sure there would be any that even truly follow him. The shrine was built over a century ago, when the town’s rivalry with Dougan’s Hole raged so fiercely that the lake, a frequent battlefield, became known as Redwaters. For a time thereafter, nearly all residents of Good Mead paid homage to Tempus. Today, the shrine’s relevance has dwindled to the point where it’s mainly used just for town gatherings. No one cares for the building anymore." Sky answers Krom
Krom approaches the body and prepares his spell.
A semblance of life is seen on the face of the man who lays on the table and Krom asks his questions. The answers given are made in a hard monotone voice that nearly sounds hollow as if given from a far distance...
"The day you died, was it your first encounter with the giant?" Yes, yes, yes "Can you describe the giant to us?" A giant but not a true giant "Did you recognize them?" No, no no "Was the giant's attack the first attack of a minion of the Frostmaiden to Good Mead?" I do not know "Do you know where the giant's lair is located?" I do not know
What looked like life drains from the man's face and it becomes again just a corpse.
"I'm sorry friends, I insisted to do this ritual, but we did not learn anything useful...we lost time." replies Krom after the ritual finishes. The dwarf scratches his beard and patting his hammer says "I guess that we will have to locate the giant by mundane means."
"At the very least you tried Master Krom." Kazri pats him on his shoulder.
(@DM. Is it possible for Kazri to ask Oli to inspect the body for a scent that does not belong to the speaker? It might help tracking this "giant".)

"On the contrary, Master Krom. We've at least confirmed a few things 'less the spirit had cause to lie or obfuscate things. And with Chill's guidance, we may yet learn more." Rhogar assured the dwarf on the way out. "Because truthfully, I had half suspected this 'giant' to have perhaps been a local at one, twisted though by the maiden or by some other means less fantastical." He admits and throws in a casual shrug.
"I suppose if Tymora yet favors us, we shall find out all the more in due time."He chuckled on that note, before quieting all together to let Chill and the others focus for the most part. Occasionally, Gorrah would fly away to help expand the group's search net if only a little, but return fairly soon just to get out of the cold.

Nods Krom to Rhogar and Kazri as he follos Chill and the others. "Spirits can lie if they feel hostility for the one asking questions, but I think that the Speaker told us the truth." says the dwarf to the dragonborn "He spoke of a giant, but not a true giant...an ogre or a very large goliath maybe." continues Krom "I guess we will find it soon enough." The dwarf, touching Chill's shoulder, murmurs an hymn of guidance (3).

But with the help of Kazri, Chill heads in the direction Sky gave and into the woods the party goes. Tall thick trees with under brush fill in around you as you move deeper into the woods.
Suddenly a figure in cold weather clothing lurches out of the woods into plain view, running as fast as he can through the deep snow. Slung over his back are a pair of animal traps, one of which appears to contain a panicked fox.
"Hey there! Stop!" shouts Krom attempting to follow the running man "Let's go after him, he may know something about our giant." says the dwarf to the rest of the group.
Kazri runs after the man and uses her divine abilities to try to hold the person in vines. "Please explain yourself."
