Initially on guard to the point that that lightning began crackling from his mouth, wariness turned to confusion seeing the figure lurch on in a hurry. But soon enough he's shaking off the confusion and setting off into a rough jog to try and keep up with the more reactive of the others. "Fair enough. Say but the word and I'll close the distance with ya, Master Krom." Rhogar assures while at least keeping pace roughly alongside the dwarf to make good on his word.
Although if Kazri is successful, he'd keep up the jogging, if only to be within bopping distance of the figure in a pinch. Talking, however, he'd leave to others. In the case Chill instead spots an even greater peril to worry about mid-run, then the Dragonborn may shift more towards a slower pace, if only to give himself more time to fully register it himself.

The man is running towards you out of the woods and as he sees your group and Chill calls out to him he stops. He looks to be out of breath and fearful.
"Help me, help, help!" he yells hysterically pointing back up the way he came. It takes his a moment or two but he catches his breath and calms down a bit.
He lets the two traps down onto the ground, the fox in the one looks rattled but uninjured.
"My name is Fef Moryn a trapper. I was out in the woods checking my traps when I came upon a grisly scene: five members of Good Mead’s militia, their skulls and chests stove in. I was headed straight home to alert the town."
"It seems we just about found our lead then." Rhogar commented on with a grim grin. "Be at is, my good man. We are here to help. In fact, you have our thanks, Mr. Moryn. As it so happens, we were seeking the one responsible for those very same disappearance of those militia men as repayment for the hospitality shown us, if nothing else."He assured, stepping up to giving the man a pat on the shoulder. Meanwhile, Gorrah seemed to slink away and take flight just a little ways from the group and land on a branch to try and spy the remains from afar through the canopy.

Fef Moryn is more than happy to return to town while letting you continue deeper into the forest. "Better you than me! Good luck." he says as he continues on.
You are able to follow Fef Moryn’s trail and after about 30 minutes of walking you eventually come to the grisly scene the trapper spoke of:
Another set of larger tracks go deeper into the woods. Though they are a few days old Chill can see that they belong to what is likely a giant.
"May you have found peace and comfort in the embrace of your gods." The words had spilled out from Rhogar from the moment he wandered closer with the intent at first to further look over the bodies. Once they did, he couldn't help cringing and muttering something in draconic, before looking expectantly to Chill. Once the tracker confirmed their next heading, he again spares the bodies a final look, then glances over to Krom. "Once we return and our task is done here, we should perhaps let them know where to find the bodies, and see them properly taken care of."

Following the tracks you head into the woods. You walk for about 1 hour when a small creature pops out of the snow and hurls a wee snowball at
Chill (1-2), Kazri (3-4), Krom (5-6), Rekuburk (7-8) Rhogar (9-10) Oli (11-12) 7
Once it has the party’s attention, it capers atop the snow. It resembles a 6-inch-tall animated doll with a mask-like face, spindly limbs, and wild hair.
As Gorrah snickers at Rekuberk, Rhogar finally gets over the shock to squat down and study the creature from a distance. "Huh... Peculiar little thing, isn't it?" He asks of the others, but hardly stayed attentive much to properly hear and digest an answer, if any. His focus shifts instead towards to the myriad of lessons of his patron/brother in hopes of discerning the nature of the creature, and why it might've hit rekuberk.
Nature: 21. (if arcana would be applicable, using that instead for an added +3 to the roll)

Krom and Kazri look around for any potential threats but they find none. Rhogar tries to recall if he knows of such a creature. He does not know of them, having never heard of or encountered them before. However his keen eye for the arcane sees that the creature appears to be an elemental spirit.
Chill, however, is certain that he does know what the creature is, as it looks very similar to such a creature that can be found on the island of Chult.
Chill only
A chwinga (pronounced cheh-WING-ah) is a tiny elemental spirit that lives in plants, rocks, and rivers far from civilization. Painfully shy, chwingas prefer to move about unseen.
If two or more chwingas live in the same area, each one will take shelter in a different plant, rock, or body of fresh water. Though no two chwingas look exactly alike, they resemble 6-inch-tall animated dolls with strange masks, spindly limbs, and wild hair. Their appearance is sometimes foreshadowed by cool breezes, the sweet smell of flowers, and dancing fireflies. Their mere presence makes a natural setting more lush and vibrant.
Humanoid Fascination. Chwingas shun most other creatures, but they find the trappings of civilization fascinating. They puzzle over creatures that wear armor, carry weapons, use tools, and cook food. When a chwinga encounters one or more humanoids, its curiosity sometimes gets the better of it, and it shadows those creatures for a short time to observe them. If it takes a liking to a particular humanoid, a chwinga might use its cantrips to aid it, or might bestow a magical gift before departing. The features that attract a chwinga to a particular humanoid can vary. In some cases, a chwinga might simply like the way a humanoid walks or the way it combs its hair. Other times, it might be smitten by a humanoid’s ability to play music or to eat copious amounts of food.
Elemental Nature. Chwingas sleep but don’t require air, food, or drink. They don’t have names and have no ability to speak. When a chwinga dies, it turns into a handful of flower petals, a cloud of pollen, a stone statuette resembling its former self, a marble of smooth stone, or a puddle of fresh water.
Kazri will make sure Oli to give the little creature some personal space.
