Bob let's out a huge sigh of relief once the vampire goes down as if he had been holding his breath until it did. He sees his exhausted companions, the destruction all around them and the oppressive gloom of the befouled land they found themselves in and he felt tired, more tired than he'd ever been. He holds out his hands, says the Druidic words, expecting them to fill with berries... but even that spell eluded him he was so spent.
"Is everyone alrigh'...?" he asks slowly, knowing that no one would be alright after such an ordeal even if they somehow avoided any physical damage.
Ban slips her loose hair back into her hood, flips it up proper, turns and exits the church without a word. Slowly and quietly, she retrieves her daggers. Brushing them off, she places them back in their respective sheathes and checks to see if there's any salvageable weapons from the undead that assaulted the place. In particular looking to replenish her dwindling dagger supply first and foremost and then arrows secondly.
Tio‘s final strike lands, putting all her force into her aura dissipates as she lets go of her form. Taking a moment she realizes Duro is finally dealt with she replies to Bob “I am fine Bob, a bit toil worn but I’m fine. Everyone else okay?”
Tio seeing the others in a worsen state she can’t help but empathize with them. “I know everyone is tired but we must make sure not to forget of Ismark and Ireena. The last undead wave was a diversion, which almost succeeded. We should clean up, giving Duro and his father a proper Burial and leave this place…”
Tio will go to the siblings in the other room, she knocks on the door “It’s safe Duro…Duro is finally resting. I think we should bury him and his father.”
Tio goes and retrieves Ismark & Ireena. The man and his adopted sister say little for a few moments then Ismark speaks up. "I will make the arrangements for Father Donavich. Some of the people of the town should answer the call of the Burgermeister's son and aid us in this. After that we can take refuge in my father's house until the morning I hope."
Ismark moves to the main door of the church. "I shall return with what help I can muster." If no one stops him, he will leave the church to find help. Ireena stands by, watching and saying nothing.
While the party waits for Ismark's return, what do they do? if anything? If there are no actions/requests I will post in the morning.
While Ismark is gone, Gimble works hard to tidy up the place, cleaning up shattered pews and seeing what can be done to set the place to rights. He inspects the damage done to the structure from his Shatter spell and the most recent attack and sighs…At least it kept them alive.

Tio will nod in agreement as Ismark leaves. Watching him, Tio see Ban picking through the undead remains, She looks over and sees Gimble tidying up the church. Nodding she sits in to take a short rest as she does she keep an eye on Ireena.
“Tell me Ireena, why do you have such a melancholy look on your face? I won’t lie I have a hard time understanding human emotion. Is it not better to keep a fighting spirit instead of feeling depressed?”
Eventually Gillain manages to stand, but that’s all she can do.
She can hear the others clearing up, consoling Ireena. She hears Ismark leave. But all Gillain can do is stare down at the broken, defiled body of Duro. Just a boy…
She almost died, she doesn’t quite know how she didn’t. Only her conviction to protect the innocents, the townsfolk, to protect her friends, kept her standing.
She stands there, not triumphant, just emotionless.
As she looks upon Duro, her eyes glaze over one more time with the familiar milky film of her Divine Sense, checking two things: that Duro is no longer undead, and that the church is categorically not consecrated (as she might otherwise normally expect church-land to be). She doesn’t expect anything to register, but she has to make certain…
Bob heaves a huge sigh once the fighting is done and, with a look of concern over his shoulder at Gillain, he joins the others in tidying up the place as best he can. He can only last for so long before he starts huffing and puffing, sliding down the wall of the church until he plops onto his rump and promptly starts snoring, obviously deciding now was the time to take a rest.
Ban's searching is rewarded. Among the rusted armor, moldy bones, and rotted leather Ban is able to find the following: *7 copper pieces. Ban is able to determine the cooper pieces were minted in Thay. Each has a skull on the face. *8 gold pieces. These come from lands unknown, or at least not from a land any of the party has heard of. *Ban finds an arrow. It seems out of place as it is the cleanest thing amongst the muck that covers the undead thing. Upon closer inspection Ban finds there is a slight crack in the shaft and a green glow comes from inside the crack. Ban likes the feel of the arrow as it reminds her of the ones her father used. To her eyes, it is obviously of elven make. *Next Ban is able to pull a daggerfrom a rotted dirty sheath of one of the fallen undead. It caught Ban's eye because, among all the rusted and broken blades, this one is whole and fairly untarnished. *Ban spies an odd-looking broken bone, obviously part of one of the undead the party had faced. She picks it up and half of it falls back to the ground. Ban watches the bone fall and turns her attention back to the piece of bone she holds. It is hollow and inside the bone is a rolled-up piece of parchment. *Ban picks through the debris of the undead and parts of the ceiling and finds a small vial with a reddish-gold liquid inside.
Gimble cleans a little and busies himself with inspecting the damage the shatter spells he cast had done. As Gimble suspected the spell closest to the church had done some damage to the building structure and he believes the church is not structurally sound and could fall with the slightest provocation.
Gillain calms her breath and taps into the power deep within her. Her eyes widen as for a moment there is a flash of darkness that clouds her vision but passes quickly. Once gone Gillain sees Duro dead body is human, detecting no undeath within the husk that lays before her. Her vision rests on the church grounds and her fears are confirmed. There is a darkness that seeps from the ground and a foul odor assails her nostrils as she inhales.
It takes Ismark about an hour to round up enough people to come and help with burying Father Donivich and his son Duro. A group of 8 men arrives and at Ismark's direction, they move the bodies to a cart and pull the cart around back to the cemetery. It is late in the day before the graves are dug, the bodies moved to the location and buried. As for a ceremony, one of the men says a short prayer for the two men while the others gather around, taking off their hats and bowing their heads during the prayer. The villagers pay little attention to the party and once done they gather their tools, place them into the cart and leave.
During this time Ireena stands off by herself and is quiet. Prior to this moment, the only thing she has said was a response to Tio's questions. "I do not expect you to understand," she told Tio in her rich Barovian accent. Ismarkand Ireena speak privately and after a few moments, he comes to the party. "I thank you for all your help here that you have done for my family and the village of Barovia. I offer you a place to stay at my father's home and a meal. It is the least we can do."he says the last with a soft smile. "In the morning, if you are still willing to help us, we will set out for Vallaki."
As the men finish up the burial and their respect, Tio will go to Ismark “I think it would be great idea, I am worried about their well being and some food would do good.” Think for a moment maybe Father Donavich might have some religious items the could help “Before we go I think a quick search through the church might be good could help with the journey a head.” Tio will bow her head slightly before heading off to check the church one last time.
Ban picks up the skull coins and ponders on them a moment before putting them in a pack pouch, followed by the gold. Brushing the arrow's feathers, she fondly recalls her family and wonders how they're doing before snapping back to the cold and dingy reality she's found herself in as the peculiar dagger catches her eye. With a small squeal of delight, Ban holds the blade to what counts as light in admiration before sliding it away in its new home with extreme satisfaction at the find. More than happy with her finds, she practically skips about as if in a field of flowers through a different lens. Finding the hidden scroll, the eladrin's eyes go wide at her find; as she stows it in the same pouch as the coins, she grabs the vial gingerly and heads back to present her findings to the group.
Back inside, she flashes a childish smile as she happily says, "Despite the gloom, there's quite a pickings out there." Digging into her pouch, she retrieves the vial and the coins and places them on a pew nearby Gimble. She takes out the parchment and hands it to Gimble, "I thought you might like this; was inside a bone, believe it or not."
Once Ismark returns, Ban takes him up his offer. "I'd love a nice meal. Thank you! As for helping out, seems like ya could use all the help ya can get."
Once the villagers arrive, and gather Duro’s body up to bury, Gillain snaps out of her stupor and ends her silent vigil over the poor broken body.
Is this what her mentor felt like, all those times, vanquishing monsters? Why did she feel so conflicted? It was meant to be black and white… Good verses evil… He was just a boy, maybe not even as old has she is.
She says nothing at the service. Still trying to internalise mixed emotions. Trying to remind herself of the positives. The town is safe from at least one monster; a boy’s pain and suffering, over…
As people start to speak of a meal and rest, Gillain finally gives a half smile, “That’s very kind. Thank you”, she says in response to the offer.
She follows the party to Ismark’s father’s house for the evening.
Thogh his magical energies are drained, Gimble still manages to perform the rituals and invoke the spells needed to detect the items of magic and then identify them, saying, “Thank you, Ban, perhaps these items will be of help to us as we continue the fight against the undead.”

The magic provides the wielder the ability to strike more precisely and does not lose its magic once fired. (Arrow +1) There is a minor enchantment on the arrow so never gets dirty. -The dagger is human-made with a sigil of a hand with an open eye in the palm. It is a Dagger +1. There is a minor enchantment on the dagger that allows the wielder to understand goblin speech. -The vial is a Potion of Healing with 1 use. -The scroll was written by an old, bald man with a long white beard. It contains the formula for the Cause Fear spell written on the front and back of it.
DM: Pausing so anyone that wishes to do something else can post. FYI: the items Tio found are not magical. I will post tomorrow with the continuation of the story if no other actions are posted.
Noting the items of power and describing them for the others, Gimble does claim the Scroll of Cause Fear for himself, giving the other items back to Ban for distribution.
”Yes, let us go take our ease and eat, that we may be refreshed on the morn,” he says distractedly, lapsing into a more formal speech pattern as he is wont to do when preoccupied. A shadow crosses his face as Gimble tries to determine what could cause such darkness in the weave.

With nothing else to do, the party journeys back to the ex-Burgermester's home. The journey is a solemn one with few words from Ismark or Ireena. As the party walks through the village they feel the eyes of many villagers on them coming from the half-closed drapes and darkened windows. Overhead the sky settles into its natural gloom of midday. The party reaches the home and Ismark guides each of you inside, closing the door tightly as the last of you walk through. "Make yourselves at home," Ismark says as he takes off his cloak and gear and sets it beside the door.
Each of you finds a place to sit in the main hall of the mansion. (see map) https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1tna_7IIvImxb510eBbbfuI4EIfHi_Ce4gkmY748ZQUo/edit The main hall is a 20 ft. x 40 ft. room. A large fireplace takes up the northeast corner of the room with a large dining table just before it. 4 lone chairs are near the northwest corner of the room with a small table set in the midst of them. There is an opening along the south wall, near the southeast corner, that leads to a small waiting room and the kitchen.
Sounds of Ismark and Ireena moving about the kitchen can be heard by the party as they wait.
A short while later Ireena and Ismark come into the main hall with a tray of meats, cheeses, and bread along with a pitcher of something and mugs. It takes a couple of trips but Ismark and Ireena are able to bring all of it in and place it upon the large table. "Please, come, set, eat and rest for a while." Ismark says.
After the party sits Ismark and Ireena take a seat and food and drinks are passed around to everyone. DM: Unless asked directly, Ismark and Ireena say little while they eat.
After the meal is done and things cleared away, the party has the opportunity to relax and take in the events of the day. This quiet reflection is interrupted by Ismarkwho asks: "Are you still willing to help me take my sister to Vallaki?" he asks and pauses for a moment. "I understand it is a lot to ask of you, especially after such an ordeal today but, I need to ask."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Rested a bit afterwards, he spends a few minutes refreshing his magical energies and working on that scroll before joining the after dinner conversation (attempting to transfer it to his spellbook and also doing Arcane Recovery).

Rested a bit afterwards, he spends a few minutes refreshing his magical energies and working on that scroll before joining the after dinner conversation (attempting to transfer it to his spellbook and also doing Arcane Recovery).
Arcana for the Scroll: 6
Gimble readies himself to transcribe the scroll after dinner. He understands most of the characters on the scroll and the few he does not understand, he figures he can get through just being a trained mage. Gimble takes a deep breath and mumbles the minor incantation to link the magic of the scroll to his spellbook, once connected he begins to transcribe. It is at the 4th character of the spell he feels the flaw in his connection. His eyes widen as the scroll catches fire and within a second is nothing but ash on the wind. Gimble sighs sadly as he realizes this spell is lost to him, for now.
After offering any of the items to the party at the church, Ban keeps uncharacteristically quiet for some time. When they get to the mansion, Ban politely deposits her pack near an empty corner and takes a seat in the main hall. Usually, she wears her hood up so that it keeps her hair out of the way, but she flips it down to let her moonlight-silver hair fall down her back. Once the food has arrived, she eats a surprising amount of bread and cheese in neat fashion, while not eating any meat. After internalizing the day's events, and being too quiet for her usual, she finally bursts as she twirls a butter knife between her fingers anxiously.
"So, are we calling today a victory? Bringing down undead, incurring casualties; perhaps it was none of our business in the first place, and the poor lad was just a child! He wasn't a mindless creature without personality like the others we encountered outside the church. If we never stopped to pry into Father Donovan's church, both of them could still be there at this moment. What if one of us died in the process? Would it still have been worth it? They're both dead now, and this town no longer has a religious figurehead nor place of what counts as reassurance around here."
After getting that off her mind, the eladrin answers Ismark in a more calm demeanor, "Aye, since it seems I'm here for an extended period, I would like to assist you two. Plus, I might be able to find a way out of here at this Vallaki. My specialty is in subtlety, so perhaps we should lie low and avoid contact with others to best get you there safely. Inviting unwanted attention often leads to confrontation and trouble, in my experience."

Unless asked directly, Ismark and Ireena say little while they eat.
After the meal is done and things cleared away, the party has the opportunity to relax and take in the events of the day. This quiet reflection is interrupted by Ismark who asks:
"Are you still willing to help me take my sister to Vallaki?" he asks and pauses for a moment. "I understand it is a lot to ask of you, especially after such an ordeal today but, I need to ask."
Gimble:
During dinner, Gimble makes a bit of small talk and tries to learn a bit more about Barovia, but nothing specific (laying groundwork for future knowledge checks). Rested a bit afterwards, he spends a few minutes refreshing his magical energies and working on that scroll before joining the after dinner conversation (attempting to transfer it to his spellbook and also doing Arcane Recovery).
Arcana for the Scroll: 18
Gerrard Feldren - Human Noble in Ghosts of Saltmarsh
Kerric Brightblade - Elven Warrior in "Apocalypse"
