"Gareth, do you have another dog sled that we could use to find Keegan? Perhaps Boy could lead it, and he could lead us to them. Do you have anything else that could help? We would want to head out at first light." Hifu clearly indicates to him that he would like to help him find his friend.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
„We only have the one sled, it is expensive to keep the dogs, so it is hard to keep more then you need. If you want, you can keep your team in our stable for the night, the stables in the Luskan Arm are in dire need of repairs. Horses only get stuck in high snow, so they are no good in this weather. So most ended up in stews and no one uses the stables of the inn. If you follow the Eastway to Caer-Dineval, you can reach the village in 12 hour, from there it is another two to Caer-Konig. Keegan by himself was able to make the trip faster with his dogs, but on foot without snowshoes that would be a fair estimate. If you try to go directly from here to the mountain... the best way would be through the dwarfen valley, maybe two days of travel. I can give you snowshoes to help you with the travel.
While he explains everything, he rummages through a drawer to take out a linen shirt and passes it to you.
(Assuming James has given Gilgin 2-way speech since he asked a question)
“Of course, but no point taking it out on the little guy. He’s just as much a victim as the rest. Let’s take it to the top! Speaker Maxildinaar stays at the same place as us.”
“Thanks for the tips, we’ll be best off following his footsteps I think. No point bothering no Dwarves in their valley, we’ll get stuck there drinking and feasting for days.” Gilgin forces an awkward laugh as he takes the linen shirt, shoving it in his backpack. Nodding his farewell, he looks at the others. “Off to the Luskan then, unless any of yous need to get any supplies?”
"Yeah that is my thought as well. Not that everyone else is necessarily innocent in this, but until we get more details, we cant be sure of anything. I think maybe we gather some information, then when we return we can finish the investigation and decide on a course of action and have a talk with the Speaker."
Jameslistens to Gareth's directions for ways to best get to Caer-Konig and thanks them for their offer to house the dogs and sled for the night.
"Thank you for your offer, I will gladly take you up on it. I will return tomorrow morning to collect them so we can head out right away."

Gareth thanks you and he will accompany you to the Luskan Arms inn. While he introduces you to the owner, a small balding men by the name of Oween Tarsenel, and explains that you are going to search for Gareths husband, you take the chance to take in the state of the inn. It is pretty much as you remember it. Old decoration, based on sailing and ships, a wooden floor that didn‘t see a carpenter for decades but a dry roof and a warm fire. It is not that the owner doesn‘t keep it clean, it is more a case that he gave up on investing and maintaining it. In one corner, you see a rich human merchant talking with a tiefling in heavy armor, a roasted bird and whine on the table in front of them. You see several fishermen chatting and drinking. You hear the rolling of dices and the cheers of victory from those tables.
At one of the tables hear a man shout in anger and slightly drunk: „Wy Helm, i on‘t know how you doin it, bud noon ot so much lcuk,...“ his friend seams to try to calm him down, and the target of his anger, a human
The human is a 40is old men with a full beard medium long hair and a good bit of tan. The drunk and his friend are locals, weather beaten faces, dark rings under their eyes, red noses. The circumstances of the last year and a half clearly took a toll on those two.
It is hard to say, you don‘t see any acts of cheating. Everyone seams to be wining hands, it is just that while you are watching, the men never looses a big hand, while the two tipsy friends both over commit to hands that loose at the end.
The almost middle-aged man, who, despite having drunk a couple of mugs of ale himself, didn't seem to be showing any signs of being drunk. Whether he was good at hiding it or he truly wasn't drunk had remained to be seen. He takes his winnings from the last big hand he won and dumps them into his sack. Speaking to the two guys he was playing against, he calmly says. "Listen... friends, I don't think you're in any shape to continue this and we both know you can't afford to lose anymore, so take your pride and get out of here." He places one gold worth of coin on the table for each of the guys. "Here, this is for your troubles."
Hifu, standing behind them, says "That seems fair. You win some, you lose some. Lady Luck can be a fickle *****." he looks up at the lucky gambler, "What's your name, friend? What have you done to have Lady Luck shine so brightly on you? Have you been travelling lately in these parts? Cold enough for ya?" Hifu gives him a big grin.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The man leans over the table, not breaking his attention from the two other gentlemen that he was playing cards with. He takes a sip from his mug before responding. "I don't believe in luck, I believe in fate, and fate is a beautiful woman." He takes another sip before continuing. "I have been traveling for a bit, town to town, city to city, but not by choice. If I could rest my feet in the sand, I'd rather do that." He breaks his attention from the two gentlemen and looks toward the new face (Hifu). "Names Kree, and yours?"
“Hifu, pleased to meet you...”. He pauses and considers. “Hmm. Fate has lead us here tonight apparently. This here’s James, Nyx and that gruff one is Gilgin. He can put ale away like you can roll dice apparently.”
"Pleasure to meet you all, and as much as I'd gladly take you up on that offer of drinkin, I have to stay in my right state of mind. I plan on leaving at first light t'morrow." He takes another sip of his ale before asking a question. "Hey, you look like travelers yourselves. You wouldn't have happened to run into a Dwarf by the name of Torrga Icevein have ya? Runs a traveling shop called Torgs."
Gilgin follows Gareth, waddling up to the bar, licking his lips as he waits to get the smalltalk over with.
As soon as here’s a gab in conversation he butts in, “Ale please! Your darkest, bitterest, strongest ale, all round, except the little one. She’s on the wagon.” Gilgin pays up, and lifts his mug in a toast. “To Keegan! May the fires of the forge that bonds you in love and matrimony keep him warm until we find him and bring him back.” Gilgin pauses a few seconds in soemn thought before smashing back his beer in one gulp. He slams down the mug on the table, a little too hard and it shatters in his hand. He barks at the barkeep, waving his bloody hand in his face as his crazed eyes widen manically. “Another beer! More, more!!”
When Hifu wanders off to the betting tables, Gilgin turns to the group. “He’s a curious young one that one. I hope he doesn’t fall in with any ruffians” he spends a few minutes enquiring with Oween about the speakers whereabouts “Me pal here would like a strong word with him.” Before noticing Hifu pointing his way, seemingly introducing some dodgy looking human to the group. Gilgin sighs as he gulps his beer.
James takes the beer that Gilgin buys for him, taking his time to enjoy it. James nods his agreement with Gilgin, about wanting a word with the town Speaker, but also gives Gilgin a sideways glance.
"Slowly Gilgin, no need to give away our intentions until we have a little more information. If the town is being controlled by a murderer and his guards, we may need to plan a little before we take drastic action. No need for them to suspect us of anything until we are ready to act."
As Hifu and the stranger come over to join the group, James nods towards the newcomer.
"Nice to meet you Kree. I don't recognise the name myself, anyone else."
James looks among his friends for recognition of the name "Torrga"
Some of you may have heard the name in passing, Torraga is a female dwarf who is running a traveling pawnshop. She got a slightly shady reputation.
Gilgin, the barkeeper charges you 2 silver for the first 2 mugs of ale (for you and James). Once you break the mug, the price goes up ,for anyone in the group, to 2 silver per mug.
Gareeth and Owen point out that the merchant in the corner is the townspeaker. The armored tiefling is the captain of the guard.
“Aye, but this fight may be bigger than just one town. If you want to go down this road, it may be a long one. When we get to Bryn Shander, there’s somebody I’d like you to meet. I’ll follow your lead here”
Between gulps of his beer, and obnoxious belches, Gilgin greets their new guest. “‘Ey ‘up lad, Kree is it? I’m Gilgin, shame ye won’t join us for a drink, what you got to be so clear headed for tomorrow mate?” He thinks on his knowledge of the dwarf. “I’ve heard of her, never met her. Not sure what business you’d want with a charlatan like her though.”
