The two elves meditate and rest regaining stamina and strength. The sun is well past it's zenith and there are only two or three hours of sunlight left. The razorvine refuge is bustling with rangers coming in and out making preparations to spend the night. Yeuy is sitting on the ground handling a small, thick branch.
Yuey stops what he is doing and regards the elves with a surprised look.
Yuey: This close to nightfall? I guess an adventurers life is always on the go. I will lead you to where you must go but I won't stay long this close to dark.
Yuey stands and walks to a section of the razorvine and motions. The vines peel back wide enough to let a person through.
Yuey leads them through the woods, after a couple hours of travel they come to a section of the forest that is foreboding and dark in the fading light. The ground is rockier than usual and small clumps of mist cling to the ground.
Yuey: Well, this is as far as I can take you. Fel's central point of power is about a mile to the west here. Be careful and call for us when you are ready.
Yuey quickly leaves.
Tae and Heec hear a faint rumble, rising and falling to the west.
The elves pick their way through the forest following an old game path. As they wind their way a few hundred feet closer to the rumbling the soil becomes rockier and the trees have begun to turn to stone at the bottom of the trunks. They duck through an archway of trees that have fallen together and see a stony clearing.
On the right there is a goat the size of a destrier sleeping on top of a log that has completely turned stone. Its chest is rising and falling and emanating a deep rumble like two giant stones slowly being ground together. Another archway of stone-trees is about a hundred feet on the other side of the clearing. It is strung with a huge spider's web.
The spider climbs around the trees and crawls down the web in front of Tae and Heec. It is brown with a black pattern and covered in fine bristles along it's back and legs.
Spider: Hello! I'm a spider!
Thankfully it is still whispering.
S: The goat is friends with the man in green. Neither of them are very nice to me. So I make my web every day and the goat gets SOOO mad. It is funny!
It gets super excited and talks a little louder.
S: I've only been alive ten days and I'm very precocious!
I'm not going to wait for this spider to wake up the goat and have him charge us.
Climb up about ten feet on that stone tree. Mind the web. I'll stay down here and distract the goat if he wakes up.
Tae climbs the tree on the side opposite the web. Heec stands alert and ready for activity. Once Tae is in position, he attempts to cast Ray of Frost on the spider.
Tae rolls a 12 (6+6). If the attack is successful, it takes 5 damage and is slowed.
Tae casts a lance of blue energy that strikes the spider right in the back. The air around it bursts in a snap of frost. The spider takes a few more halting steps when its legs curl up underneath it and it dies.
The goat shifts slightly but continues its deep breaths. Tae and Heec notice a giant beetle idly climbing up the side of the log. It is the size of a small cat and has a pair of glowing glands underneath its head. It is a few feet from climbing on the goat.
The goat stops its rhythmic breathing and blinks its eyes open. It looks around and shakes the fire beetle from its rocky pelt. The beetle lands upside down on the forest floor.
The goat’s eyes are like swirling pools of magma and it fixes them on Tae and Heec as it gracefully stands up on the log. It is easily a tall as a large warhorse. It turns to face them and looks angry from being woken up.
Roll Initiative: Goat rolls 5.
Map: the clearing is a circular area 60 feet in diameter. Tae and Heec are at the top of the circle next to a five foot archway covered in webs. The goat is on a log on the left side which would put them about 30 feet away from one another. Because the trees are turning to stone the trunk itself is very stable but some of the branches are more likely to snap due to decreased flexibility. Tae can climb to 20 feet with little difficulty but will have to be more careful to get higher then that. Climbing takes double movement.
Heec positions himself dead center and 5 feet away from the web and lightly whistles at the ram. Hey biggun! The moon elf then lets out a loud, long whistle that pierces the ears of those sensitive to hearing. He takes a defensive stance.
Tae decides climb up the tree to 15 feet high and tighten his grip on the branch he's using for support. Let's see what he does.
The goat jumps down from the stone log. It rears its front legs and slams them down on the ground. There is a slight tremor through the earth but not enough to shake Tae or Heec. From the ground, three giant beetles burrow out. One is next to the log, 35 feet away, one is nearby the entrance or about 50 feet away and one is on the left side about 15 feet away. The goat shakes its horns and snorts big clouds of steam as it looks like it is preparing to charge.
Heec is currently taking the Dodge Action which gives enemies disadvantage on attack rolls and gives him advantage on any dexterity saves until his next turn.
Characters can also choose to Ready an Action on their turn, which essentially gives them the ability to act according to if/then circumstances within reason. So if an enemy approaches, then I will attack it. Tae can also prepare and hold a spell that takes 1 action, but must hold it with Concentration which can be interrupted. This takes place as a Reaction and occurs as soon as the trigger is finished. Characters can only take one Reaction per turn.

Well, Yeuy. Would you like to show us the way out of here? This time waiting for us so we don't get sliced to bits? We're ready when you are.
Yuey stops what he is doing and regards the elves with a surprised look.

Yuey: Right this way sirs!
The elves follow Yuey staying close to him and not losing him in the vines.

Tae and Heec hear a faint rumble, rising and falling to the west.
Every time, Heec. Every time you sign me up for something ominous and terrifying. I don't appreciate this one bit.
There's no razorvine between us and where we need to go so I'm sure you'll be fine. Let's move.
That razorvine took a chunk out of you, too!
The two elves make their way towards the rumbling to the west.

He's huge. Do you suppose he's friendly?
I don't want to find out. Lets keep moving. I'm more concerned about that spider's web.
If we wake the goat while trying to remove the web, we'll be in a world of hurt if he's aggressive.
Why not try to trap him in the web?
I like the way you think, Tae. Keep quiet though...
The two elves position themselves in front of the web. They both make perception checks to see if they notice the creator of such a web.
Heec rolls a 9 (5+4).
Tae rolls a 12 (10+2).
As the two elves are crouching beside the web looking for the creator, they hear a tiny voice pipe up to the left. It is whispering.
Voice: Hi.
from behind a tree a large spider is peeking out.
The goat is still sleeping. The two elves notice that it is covered in rocky plates and its horns are black and smoldering.
Another talking spider, eh? I wonder if he knows our friend at Emmett's house...
You there, my arachnid friend. What's going on here? Whose goat is this?
The spider climbs around the trees and crawls down the web in front of Tae and Heec. It is brown with a black pattern and covered in fine bristles along it's back and legs.

Easy now... if you talk too loud, you'll wake the goat. Who is this man in green?
I don't think I have the patience to find out...
The spider giggles and quiets down again. It starts to speak and then it's eight eyes seem to widen and it looks at the goat.
Spider: I've got to go over there. You guys stay here, ok?
It starts to move toward the goat which hasn't stirred.
I'm not going to wait for this spider to wake up the goat and have him charge us.

Thoughts?
We're in a good position, right? We could wake the beast on our own.
I think we've got this. Hey biggun! How's the nap going?!
The goat stops its rhythmic breathing and blinks its eyes open. It looks around and shakes the fire beetle from its rocky pelt. The beetle lands upside down on the forest floor.

This will make things a bit trickier...
We'll be fine.
Heec continues to ready his Dodge Action for this turn.
Tae takes aim at the beetle 15 feet away and casts Poison Spray. If the beetle fails its Constitution save, he will take 7 damage.
