Hyre/Aelar
"Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight." Barna says, her eyes half-lidded as she notices Hyre's barely contained enthusiasm. "Not desperate at all. You're graspin' at straws!" she says, but seems to sympathize with the pair. As he speaks, she runs her hand through wildly unkempt long, black hair and then shakes it.
"Hells with it. Look... do I look like I know how to make some fast coin OR where to get decent clothes?! This dress is years old!" she exclaims, before she looks the two over again.
"But the only reason I don't have any coin is because I can't get it m'self. I can't believe 'm saying this to complete fresh meat like you two but I... I might know some somthin'... if you're not afraid t'get a little ..... sneaky. It ain't anything that bad, not stealin' or hurtin' anyone. 'm not that smart but 'm not crazy, either. Not gonna risk gettin' tossed over the wall... but it IS takin' from a thief. Ya shivvy?" Barna says, putting her hands on Hyre and Aelar's shoulders and pulling them close to talk in more hushed tones.

Hyre looks at Aelar. "Maybe you should go meet with the others? The sun is already going down. Don't worry, I'll catch up soon enough."

(That's why this is survival! The toughest part for them is going to be finding clothes that won't MAKE them look like beggars, but there's six of them, if they work together, they should be able to better their situation by at least a little. before too long)

Aelar looks at his companion, considering. “Are you asking me to leave because you no longer want my company, because you don’t want me to get mixed up in this, or because your trying to protect me?”
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
Hyre, without hesitating: "The latter two. There's no reason to risk anyone other than me for something only I want. You could stay, but I don't want to feel like I'm dragging you with me to danger. I'd really prefer you don't get involved with this. And don't worry, I won't do it if it seems too dangerous."

Hyre/Aelar
Barna doesn't let go of Aelar's shoulder, and looks to Hyre.
"This will only work if there's three of us, ya shivvy? Any less and we'll get caught, any MORE and we'll get caught... and NOT by the guards. But, this might even be a good night to do it." she whispers.
"Here's the deal... there's this smalltime gang that's been tryin' to muscle a mercy mission on the outskirts o' town, tryin' to help beggars like us, run by a priestess o' Draco. Last time they tried to make trouble, the sister sent em' all runnin' but one o' them took a locket off her. It's what ties her to the dragons, I guess, an' it won't work for anyone but her, but if those ******** figure out she won't be able to breathe fire without it, next time they try to make trouble, it could be bad. I know where the gang hides out, an' where they keep their shit. I saw em' staggerin' drunk out o' the Ritz not too long ago. I know a back way into their place, but it's too hard for me alone t'get into.... but for three? We kin be in an' out faster than a whore on a virgin!" she says.

Leon/Lazlo/Balgrim/Kallista
(Kallista now has 1/3 successes to survival--Balgrim and Lazlo have already had a success today, they can't grow a second time until a good night's sleep.)
The foragers manage to find 13 mushrooms, and in that bundle is 1 bumblebomb mushroom! It's exactly as described.
There's a few other odd looking mushrooms too.

One of the mushrooms is OBVIOUSLY poisonous. It actually has little bioluminescent spots on it. Another one smells strange, but otherwise looks fairly normal. The final one was growing all by itself, not in a cluster. It has a massive hood and smells vaguely like a chili pepper, weirdly enough.

Hyre looks at Aelar. "Do you want to do this? I do, but I'm not asking you to do it. If this goes wrong... You have to be complitely sure about this. We could always try the normal, slower way." He has mixed feelings about this. On one hand, he really wants to this for the money. On the other hand, if it requires one of his friends to risk themselves as well... When is the risk greater than the reward?

Hyre/Aelar
Barna gives the two a squeeze around the shoulder.
"Come on! It's a victimless crime! If'n we don't take from the takers, they're just gonna fence their shit and it'll be gone anyway. Just grab as much as you can, some of it's gotta be coin, right? We'll split it all down the middle. I just wanna get sister Daar's locket back to her. She might even be willin' to find us some real clothes."

Hyre gives one last look at Aelar but he can no longer detain his ardour. "Okay, I'm in. Who's this sister though?"
Varielky
"I am completely sure, my friend. I remember a time not long ago when you were willing to take a beating for me. How can I offer less? Besides," he says with a meaningful glance but no change to his voice, "this Dragon locket sounds cool and not something that should be in the hands of thieves. It should be returned to its owner."
Turning back to Barna he gestures for her to lead on, though he ponders her honesty.

Hyre/Aelar
Barna pauses for a second, and then leans in closer to Hyre.
"I done told you, the sister that runs the mercy mission. Or are you askin' why 'm willin' to risk more scars on m' back for her?" she asks, then grunts, relenting.
"Well fine, fair enough. Daar's one o' the good ones, you know, one o' the priestesses who actually believes in what she's doin'. Before she set up the mission, I was workin' the street out o' the 'Butcher's Apron' in the Ritz... the gang we're gonna steal from are in with the owners. Sister Daar got me a way out. She paid my debts. I may be a homeless beggar, but 'least 'm not ... trapped workin' for them anymore." Barna seems to snap out of it, realizing she just spilled more than she meant to.
She clears her throat. "Sister Daar's one o' those 'avatars', she kin' channel the spirit o' the dragon god Baha. That's why the locket only works for her. It's blessed 'er somethin'." she says.
(secret roll) 8
(Oooooh, Aelar BARELY squeaks out a success against Barna's deception.)
(Aelar wonders how the hell someone who proclaims to be 'not that smart' would know about something like blessings or magic at ALL, OR where to find books? She's lying about SOMETHING.)

Leon/Lazlo/Kallista/Balgrim:
(Just waiting on Leon to choose his bait and re-roll his survival to see what he might bring up. This is gonna be interesting. Kina should be coming back soon and Hyre and Aelar are off on a caper!)

Hyre nods at Aelar, then looks back at Barna "Perhaps you could arrange for a meeting with her one day, she sounds like someone I would like to speak to. But that's not important right now. You said tonight might be a good night, what did you mean? Also, should we go right now or wait for a little later?"
'Dragon god Baha?' Hyre thinks to himself, trying to recall any information about that name if he ever heard any. History/Religion (same bonus but I'm not sure which is more fitting):3

Hyre/Aelar:
(It's a success, but not high enough to gain a success towards a history proficiency)
Hyre recalls the story of Baha, as the story of the titans was standard bedtime story reading for many children of Hon. Baha was one of the 12 titans whose body shaped the landscape of Aden. No one knows how many titans there were in the Old World, but in Aden, their legacy can be seen every day. In Baha's case, his body formed "Thunderbeast Mountain" and "The Deep". The monstrous wyrm's rib cage formed the foundation of an incredibly deep cave system going miles into the ground. It was said that Baha's body dug so deeply into the earth that her spirit seeded the mountains with the first dragons, who now live within the body of their god.
Said Hyre's reading tutor once, "I love my mother, but when she dies, I don't want to build a house out of her. Dragons are strange."
Barna pauses, then smacks the back of Hyre's head lightly in annoyance.
"Were ya listenin'? I said they're drunk tonight! Even if ya two aren't the quietest of little doormice, we should still be ok, ya shivvy? We just gotta do this quick. No one gets hurt, we get some coin, I kin pay back Daar. Quick money, long as ya don't cock it up... cause if ya do, I hope yer faster than ya are sneaky." Barna says.

"Right, sorry. Shall we go then?"
Varielky
Aelar reaches over and grabs Hyre's arm, stopping him. "Not yet. She's lying to us. Now isn't the time for how I know but I know." He turns to Barna. "Tell us the truth or you can forget about our help."
He attempts to put all his recently acquired confidence into his demeanor.
