ooc: We agree on most things. I show more 1/3s, though: Investigation: 1/3+ Performance: 1/3 Survival: 1/3 Research: 1/3. Also, I show 35/50 for Rogue.
STR: 11
INT: 17
CON: 9
CHA: 19
Athletics: 19
Insight: 18
Persuasion: 15
Group of 4 d20s: 11, 3, 13, 1
So, STR & INT succeeded, along with Insight & Persuasion. Plus he has 3 other successes to apply. Can he use one of those 16s for his CHA?

After the tumultuous attack and its aftermath, Aelar spends much of his time helping his friends and Lady Aswa. He also prepares for the binding ritual with Raia, which was postponed while she recovers from the affects of the Titan's blood. However, the bulk of his time is spent practicing with the Serpent's Tongue and studying magic, using all the resources available in the Nest, and assisting Hyre in studying the captured Skell-things.
Whenever he practiced with this weapon, he always remembers Brother Geldor's kind face and feels bittersweet. He hadn't really understood the dwarven ceremony when the Brother was laid to rest, but it had moved him nonetheless.
In the immediate aftermath, he'd quietly handed the relic Serpent's Tongue to Balgrim, saying, "I'm not sure who should get this, but I know the Skell stole it from the dwarfs during the attack. I'd like to claim we got it back," he smiled as he said this, "but the truth is that he simply dropped it. I guess he needed his hands free for whatever. Anyway, I wish I could tell Brother Geldor I got it back but I'd like to think he knows. If there's anything I can do to help here, let me know. Send word to the inn. I'll get those messages."
He'd also checked in on the farmers, making sure they were alright and thanking them for all their help. The next day he'd tracked Grimbuld down to return the bow to him. "I don't know what exactly this does but it was very useful, Mr. Grimbuld. Thanks for letting me use it." As soon as he can, though, he picks up his own long bow and practices with that, just as with the Serpent's Tongue.
ooc: Since we are picking classes now, do I assume the binding ritual takes place during this period?

((The dice strike again :P bad luck there Bacon. Also yes Wolf, you can use your successes for anything you want, you can even use all 3 to gain a new skill completely because you hit every one like a pit boss.))

Thankfully, the Goodwins were totally unharmed and even weren't sure what was going on in the city. Edna wanted to charge right in, but Thomas suggested that they stay put, figuring that their own neighbors would need her if the attack spilled out into the outlaying farms, but it didn't happen.
Grimbuld is grateful to see his bows back, and though he tries to hide his relief, the safe return of the entire group. Geoffrey and Grimbuld seem to have fully mended their fractured friendship as well; since Grimbuld's shop was all but destroyed, Geoffrey offers to store the wares and artifacts that weren't ruined in his library while the two of them move into the Horseshoe at Hana's insistence.
Lazlo's meddling worked, as the attack gave new purpose to the old knight who now acts as the Horseshoe's security which eventually sparks a new ember of romance between the old friends.
Carmine, Cameron and Carmen, however, were deeply shaken by the attack. Carmine's wounds were nearly fatal, and if Sister Daar hadn't shown up when she did, she would have certainly perished. Though the triplets love Guiston, they make it known that they are planning to eventually leave for Rondo or Valis to put a little more distance between themselves and the coming conflict with the Skell, when they can afford the trip safely.
Balgrim, meanwhile, due to the severe losses the Hearth suffered, studies hard and becomes a new junior in the archives, seeking to replace brother Geldor in his memory. Though he hates the idea of abandoning the fight to rescue the people of Hon, he has found an equally important purpose in helping the dwarves rebuild and reestablish security in Guiston, who will in turn, once they're able, launch their own campaign to see the people of Hon safe.
"Give me some time t' work, Aelar. Far as I'm concerned... I think the good brother would have agreed that this ol' thresher would do more good in your hands than collecting dust in the archives. I just need to convince my elders, an' between you, me, an' the great forge, dwarves don't forget a debt. I think they'll come around." Balgrim says.
Kina continues training in Guiston, assisting Atetra and Leon with their bid to join the Guiston Watch. Atetra feels that his energy is better spent being a part of a larger organization while Leon's attention is focused on keeping Ashwa safe, though because of Ashwa's new position and the scrutiny she faces, the two keep their relationship a secret until Leon is old enough for it to not cause a scandal.

((I'm gonna roll but again- if we're allowed to take our race/class proficiencies some of our rolls are kind of moot))
Any skills/abilities w/ 2 out of 3 successes roll with advantage to get a final success: 'Martial' 18 , Medecine 17
Roll 4d20 dropping the lowest to add success to any ability score you have 1/3 successes in: 9228
So here are the raw numbers. I guess I hve proficiency now in 'Martial' (weapons?) and medecine? And I guess I have another success in STR (17), CON(19), and I'll use the Nat 20 for Dex.
Lazlo will spend a lot of his time visiting with Carmine, trying to gently help lift her spirits as she recovers from her wounds and running any errands her or her brothers need. "I think your eyepatch makes you look even more exotic- if anyone could pull it off it's you Carrie." He will also give any spare cashish he has to try and help them along their journey. He is sad that they are leaving but he can't see any other choice for them. The rest of his time will be spent trying to get adopted by Sir Geoffrey and Hana. He's thrilled that they are together and he'll make every effort to keep that train a' moving. He asks lots of questions about the old guard and the bards that helped them. He trains with his sabre as much as he could. He's also going to learn as much as he can about music, sagas, epics, and any other bard related things. Whatever time he has left he of course keeps tabs on his companions, while allowing them to pursue their own agendas.

((Good point about the existing skills; if you managed to get full proficiency in a skill and it's already a class skill, add +1 to the proficiency, so you'll have +3 to start.))
((Also Firecat, I must have forgotten to remove the 1/3 stealth from my records. You did have proficiency. I added some points to artificer since Hyre expressed an interest in studying how the Skell labors work, including his insistence on keeping one intact.
Also yes, you can pick any feats you want. Basically, everything you built up during the prologues aren't substitutions, they're bonuses because your characters started out immature and through surviving hardships and building real relationships through actions and risks, managed to come out stronger than your average novice adventurer. Pick what you want and augment any skills you would have already gotten at level 1 with what you already earned.))

Carmine turns down Lazlo's charity, knowing the journey ahead for him is going to be much harder than hers.
"I feel bad for doing this, Lazlo..." she says, pulling him in tight.
"I feel like I'm running away when you're taking things head on... but I have my brothers to look after. If it wasn't for me, they'd have spent every penny we've earned already on women and wine. My vices are at least cheap." she snickers.
"We'll be in Guiston for a while. It's not safe to travel any way but via kite, and that will take some time to scratch together." she says. "But... if you could sneak me past the academy gates, my brothers and I could see if the student body would be more appreciative of our music than the old cockshuttles here who only want to hear typical tavern jigs." she winks.
Her trauma over the attack is at least mitigated by the fact Daar's healing has been very potent. What would normally take weeks to heal is but a scar in hours.
Barna, for her time, trains harder than ever to become a full fledged cleric of the Draco order, though she's not sure yet if she's convinced the rest of the group to let her tag along with them. Her sights are still squarely on staying with Hyre, orcish loyalty is hard to shake.

Kallista is relatively quiet during the aftermath, not broughtparticularly enjoying any of the attention that's brought her way. When they make it back to the inn, she does her best to help Grimbuld, though its clear she's convinced that she's going to do more harm than good from her own experience trying to help.

ooc: I'm not really following this. Was this specifically in response to the question about the initial feat for variant humans? Also, I did not see a response to this: ooc: Since we are picking classes now, do I assume the binding ritual takes place during this period?
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
(I think it's a mix of answers. The feat matter is for the V. Human. The second part is about my question regarding proficincies, I guess, though I'm still confused. Do we get all the normal amount of proficiencies in addition to those trained in the prologue? I can read what you wrote as implyimg both yes and no, so I'll need clarfication on that. Lastly, any answers about the egg?
I'll make my final decisions and post Hyre's intentions for this time leap in my morning. I'm only posting this now so that I might get answers before that.)

((If you’re a ‘variant human’ you start with a feat- otherwise you can get one at level 4? If you choose that over stat increase.))
To Carrie, Lazlo responds:
“You’re not running- you’re looking after your own. I understand and if I had kin I’d do the same.” Lazlo holds Carrie close. “I’ll get you and Your brothers into whatever part of the city you need.” Holy crap how was he going to do that?! One of his friends would know. Later that night he calls his friends together. “Aelar, Hyre, Kallista… how can sneak Carrie and her brothers into the academy? They can make more coin performing there. I feel like after what this city’s been through enforcing rules about where you should and shouldn’t be would be small concern… maybe Lady Ashwa can help?”. After asking his friends he also hesitantly fields the question to Sir Geoffrey- who he considers a mentor. “W-what do you think, Sir? Surely the city could stand with some more entertainment to lift their spirits?”
Fleabag Fleabane -Tabaxi Ranger | Lenny Coggins- Halfling Barbarian | Sid Shatterbuckle- Dwarf Fighter/Rogue| Lazlo - Satyr Bard in Training
Aelar shakes his head. "Lazlo, my friend, you're so sweet. I'm not sure we need to sneak them anywhere. We live there and they are our guests and if we want to show them the Academy, where we're studying magic and stuff, well so what? Do you really think anyone's going to stop us? Right now? The saviors of Guiston? Ha! Not a chance. In a couple of months, maybe. Right now, we've got credit. I'd love to spend some of it on Carrie and her brothers."
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
Lazlo looks to Aelar. "I agree I AM sweet- but take Sir One-Arm for example..." Lazlo says nodding towards Sir Geoffrey. " I sodding love that man but... Heroes don't last forever. Only in Saga and Song, sadly... I guess." The satyr scratches his head. "We may have favor for now but... how long will that last? And as far as sending the Satyrs off- they're thick headed... " The satyr points to his horns. "They won't take what they think is 'charity'. Believe me I tried giving them some coin. Maybe if we found steady work for them? All I'm saying is we shouldn't rest on our laurel leaves. We're the young heroes of Guiston today but tomorrow we may be blamed for the latest case of the bloody flux!" How? How did he get to be this way? Lazlo thought to himself. Thinking entirely too much! Laughing way too... too less? The Satyr drops his journal into his burlap bag. He looks around, then calls out "Who's buying the 'young heroes of Guiston' a pint?! Anyone?!"

((Firecat: We'll play out the part with Hyre's egg while I hunt for new players. Also, yes, you pick all the normal proficiencies for your class, just if you already have proficiency, you get +1 to it since you built it up in the prologue.
Wolf: Go ahead and pick your class and skills but leave your equipment for now. We'll play out the ritual during my player hunt.))

"Exactly!" he shouts. "Exactly. We shouldn't rest...and I'm all for using that gratitude to get Carrie and her brothers to the Academy so they can earn some coin." He turns to the Hyre and Kallista. "What do you too think?"
"Yes...a pint!" The elf downs what's left of his current drink and holds the cup aloft.

ooc: can I give any of Aelar's bonus successes to the team, those 3 from the D20s?
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
ooc: I'm choosing Warlock...big surprise, right?...but what should I choose for the patron. There is no 'Dragon' option. I chose Fey after reading through all the options but let me know.
