Kallista quite easily manages to pulverize the roots sufficiently and applies it correctly to the woman's ankle. The bandages keep the paste in contact with her skin and even allow her to put he shoes back on. The woman relaxes a little after Kallista finishes her work, and thanks her for her efforts, going above and beyond what would normally be considered fair customer service. Plus, it's another success to put towards her medicine/herbalism skill.
She leaves abruptly and hobbles away, satisfied that she got what she wanted.
It's not long after that Grimbuld appears again with his own bandages visible under his vest.
"did you manage all right?" the old ranger asks.

"Yes Sir," Kallista says, "a few people came in, but I handled them best as I could. Are you alright?"

Grimbuld nods his approval, seeing that the store is still in good order.
"Looks like you did well on your own." he says, heading to the processing room in the back. He sees that Kallista used the mortar and pestle and some of the bandages.
"I see you prepared a medicine for a customer..." he says, then wipes his finger along some of the remnants and tastes it. "Murkwood root. Oh, I think I know who this was. Well, there's no trace of a body back here, so you didn't kill her. That's a miracle in itself." he mutters.
Trudging back out to the main room, he briefly puts a hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry about me. I took a beating the other day, but I'll be fine. The good sister may be an overbearing zealot, but she knows her craft." he states, then heads to the till to give Kallista her day's earnings, 12 SP.
"You're done for today. Good work." he states.

Kallista nods and smiles, "Thank you Sir, have a nice day. Feel better soon," she takes her leave, first back to the inn to change into the only other clothes she owns, her nightdress, then to the washing place she was told about to clean up her own clothes.

Kallista is also pretty hungry by now, she hasn't had lunch yet. Grimbuld gave her a few extra silver, she can get a nice lunch, or eat frugally and save her money.

Nothing of note happens while Kallista does her laundry. It's quiet, she's the only one there. (Boo!)

((Well, if she gets a nice meal, that'll cost 1 SP, or she could get a cheap meal for 5 CP. If you get a nice meal, you can roll against your exhaustion (CON check DC 10) and see if you're refreshed enough to give some extra training a go, maybe study Grimbuld's herbalism book.

In the homebrew rules workshop thread, I've added two more optional rules for you all to mull over and see if you like, parrying and formations. Also added: dirty fighting and tactical fighting (submission wrestling rules)

Take a look-see. If any of you don't like the additional stuff I came up with to help everyone stay standing--and playing--after you're level 1, let me know, but I think the rules there should be sufficient for giving everyone extra options to protect one another. I'd like to install the Boromir rule, though, at least. If anyone has objections, let me know!))

Kallista will go back to the inn and get a nice meal, hoping to see the others when she does. Regardless of whether she does or not, she eats her meal.

Kallista doesn't see the others at the inn; Leon, Lazlo, Aelar, and Hyre are all still out. Leon is probably still working at the forge at this point, so she knows where he is at least.
The Satyrs are also there at the inn, chatting up the patrons. Carmine is getting hit on by some town watch guard aaaaaand....

She is politely putting up with it but clearly isn't interested.

Kallista smiles and politely waves at her before going back to eating.

Kallista at least enjoys a good meal, and the satyr trio all come over to say hello, Carmine in particular eager to get the watchman off her.
"You're here all by your lonesome again Kalli?" Carmine says, looking about for the others, then pouts.
"You sure you're not hiding my boy in your wings or anything?" she teases.

Cameron leans back in his chair to Kallista's right and smirks.
"She's the quiet one of the group, all right. You don't need to worry 'bout us though, us horny types get all the stares."
"You just HAD to phrase it like that, didn't you Cam?" Carmen groans.
"It's true though, isn't it?"
"Yeah, a bit."
The brothers are quiet for a moment, then Cameron speaks up, apparently having resisted asking something for some time.
"So, a tiefling, a dwarf, an elf, a satyr, and two humans... quite the motley crew, but especially you, how do you fit in with all that?"

((I don't feel super comfortable botting Leon just yet because he has some decisions to make. We'll just have to wait.))

"I left home," Kallista says after a bit. "Found myself in Hon after a bit of time scavenging what I could on my own... that turned out well..." she trails off.

Carmine fills her brothers in on what happened to the group. They listen intently and Cameron puts his hand on her shoulder.
"Well, you're in the right place at least, here. The Warren isn't the nicest place, sure, but we stick together as best we can. No offense to your human friends, but ever since the Nest started gobbling up all the damn power, when was the last time you saw a Watchman that WASN'T a human?" he says bitterly.
Come to think of it, Edna was part of the Watch, and she's not really human.
"I'm not saying all humans are bad, I'm just saying that the humans HERE leave something to be desired." he adds.
"OI! Watch it with that language!" Hana calls out from behind the bar. It's kind of quiet at the saloon right now, guess business doesn't really pick up until the evening.
"Sorry Hana, no offense to your hubby either, love."
"Damn straight." Hana says, cleaning some cups. After a few moments of thought, she does mumble something afterwards.
"He'd probably agree with you, though."

Carmine brings the attention back to Kallista.
"How long was Hon home for you, then? I at least hope you had good people to stay with."

"A few months," Kallista says, "I was staying with an older couple who farmed for a living. They let me stay at the house if I helped with the work. They were real nice... they don't deserve what's happening to them... not sure how long they'll last..." she has to stop herself after that.

Carmen looks to Cameron, then to Carmine.
"They've got to do something about it, right? I mean, Hon's just a few days away. Guiston's next in line. They'll try to help, right?" Carmen says.
Cameron doesn't look convinced.
"I'd hope so, but the Nesties will probably just turtle up and hope it all goes away while they have their bath parties and grand balls. I'd like to kick them in their 'grand balls'." Cameron glowers.
Carmine punches her brothers in the shoulders.
"Not helping, brothers." she says, then looks to Kallista.
"You're going to need more money if you want to try and help them out." she says, then looks to her brothers. They give wary looks to their sister.
"I might have ... something... that could potentially double your current money, but it's a big risk. Do you want to hear about it?" she asks.

Kallista thinks for a moment, before shaking her head, "Sorry, I know you mean well... I just don't want to risk losing all of it. Then we'd be back at square one hoping we don't get thrown out of the city."

Leon snaps back into reality, realizing he's been approached by both Aelar and Duncan during his conversation. Blushing uncontrollably, he thanks Duncan for letting him off work early today.

Responding to Aelar, "Work's been good. I've been learning a lot from Duncan, who's been kind enough to take me under his wing."

Sneaking a peak at Ashwa, he says, "That's her. Things have been getting complicated lately. I don't know how it is for you, but I didn't know what to expect when I first arrived in this town."

He sighs. 

"Why don't we meet back up with the rest of the group at the inn. I'm sure we've got plenty of stories to tell."
