Ash hasn’t instructed Ess other than just to be cool and hold. She has thought privately about recommending him the bow over the sword but hasn’t said that. Her final decision was that Ess knows best and ‘Ess should do Ess’. So just ‘hold...hold...’ and ‘Shhh... shhhh...’ is all the guidance Ash gave, and still gives.
((Korrik just holding dart, waiting anxiously. He'd previously been ready to dash to Ben's aid, but from where the fighting seems to be happening, he'd need to run through the whole gauntlet before he could be any help.))

Ben, you move north of the man, and you do have a shot, and you shoot wide.
((ok cool! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something which disobeyed Ash, because he wouldn't have done that))
Grax yells out and his voice cracks a bit. "GRIX! NOOOOOOOO!" and then his voice turns to anger as he swings his longsword in the similar fashion as Grix did.
Attack: 18 Damage: 9 and if that hits, an extra 5. (Martial Advantage)
and the skeleton shatters and bones fly and crash to the ground.
The boss moves forward and yells "YES. DEFEND. SHOULD'VE TAKEN CARE OF THIS PROBLEM WHEN WE GOT HERE! and he creates 3 3 small glowing bullet-like objects which he throws out and they fly forward hitting the 3 regular skeletons.
342 and they all slam into each of the skeletons, chipping bone away.
"There's some kind of skeleton mage, I think we gotta let the two magic users duel it out a bit before we nudge the scales!", he whispers, moving up between Ash and Ess.
Ash readies her sling (and that is good to know about being able to ignore the trigger which makes perfect sense. I will pause and ask if the situation happens) and Korrik comes down between Ash and Ess.
The skeleton in front of Grax steps forward and swings its sword again: Attack: 9 Damage: 5 and Grax's armor defends the blow.
The skeleton behind that one just waves its sword around, hissing.
The farthest skeleton now decides to remove a very tattered but workable shortbow from its spine and shoots it at Grax. (1/2 cover at that angle + skeletons between) Attack: 9 Damage: 8 and the arrow hits the cavern wall.
The hat skeleton seems quite aggravated at this bottleneck and continues to curse and hiss.
The men move forward, listening to their boss. The man closest to the skeletons is able to get a clean light crossbow shot off, moving in front of Billard. "Willard, don't shoot me"
Attack: 20 Damage: 4 and the crossbow bolt shatters the skeleton into pieces.
The other man moves forward past Billard and kind of whispers to both of them "if we die I'm gonna be pissed."
Ess nods at Korrik and Ash, and now is clearly gripping his longsword hilt with one hand as he leads against the wall. His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy. He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready.

Ben, one of the men says "I dunno man! Grix is dead though man!"
Grax moves forward with ruthless intent, swinging wildly at the skeleton who's already been damaged earlier. Attack: 15 Damage: 8
The sword smashes the skeleton apart.
The woman is going to take aim and try and sneak 2 arrows by Grax and into that far skeleton. She shuts her eye and takes aim. This skeleton has half cover. Attack: 10 Damage: 9 Attack: 11 Damage: 9
The first arrow chips off a chunk of hip, the other arrow goes wide.
The boss says to Billard"Yes. It's almost over. Then we find out how the hell they got out." he grunts and lets loose the same 3 magical bullets, but this time he sends them all towards the hat skeleton who he can now get a partial view of. These little bullets are deadly accurate. A glance at the hat skeleton is all this wizard needs. 242 they all slam into the hat skeleton.

Hearing that the skeletons weren’t going to last much longer, Ash decides to act now, (whispering to Ess to copy what she does if possible). She creeps east, just far enough that she could see up the passage. Seeing the smugglers, she lets loose a bullet from her sling at the nearest woman; shooting out of near total darkness into the light...
Attack action (sling with advantage due to being unseen): Attack: 24 Damage: 4 ...plus 9 sneak attack damage.
After firing her shot, she creeps back to where she started and hides out of view again in the dark.
((If she needs to use Feline Agility to move fast enough out and back (to get a clean shot) she will, but if she can get away without needing to, she’ll do that)).
((I would say you would think the skeletons are getting a pretty good whooping given the smashing bone noises. Also, did none of you pick up on the Eminem reference?! I was proud of it. haha))
Ash, you can get to the passage, take the shot, and return to your spot without using any type of feline agility as the woman is completely focused on the problem at hand with the skeletons. Your sling bullet cracks her right in the back of the neck, right on the spot where the spine and the neck meet. It shocks the hell out of her and almost puts her down. She screams out in pain, and will be able to verbally respond more on her actual turn.
Korrik, the moment after Ash's sling bullet hits the woman, Ash retreats and you replace her and flick your dart at the same woman. It sticks into her neck around the same spot, and this kills her. She falls dead directly beside the boss and Grax. You then slip back into hiding.
The last 'normal' skeleton moves forward trying to slash Grax: Attack: 11 Damage: 7
and smashes its sword into the wall.
The hat skeleton now takes 2 small vials out of its ribcage and tosses them towards Grax (or the boss if Grax dies here)
Attack: 4 Damage: 7
Attack: 17 Damage: 7
Grax blocks both of them with his shield as they smash and sizzle when they hit the shield.
Next Round: Men, Ess, Busren, Grax, Boss, Ash, Korrik, Skeletons
Both men would've seen the women go down. I think at this point it is clear to them that they are being ambushed or attacked in some way. They are putting two and two together with the skeletons. They still don't see any of you though.
The men start to panic seeing the woman go down seemingly from nothing.
"We are under attack! Where did that come from! Aaarrrrggghhh!" Both of the men start to run down the passageway, but they can't see. "DAMMIT WE CAN'T SEE! Where'd it come from boss? Where'd it come from?"
Both of the men are now aiming their crossbows down the 'dark' passageway, but they can't see anything down there. Those lights from the spell are dim to begin with. "Boss! Light it up for us! We can't see fork!"
Ess sees Ash and Korrik using ranged weapons. He decides to take out his bow. He leans out ever so slightly into the passageway, takes aim, and shoots the man basically point blank as the man can't see Ess. He will creep back against the wall after he shoots. ((his stat block is updated with the longbow.)) Attack: 18 Damage: 7
the arrow silently sticks into the man's chest. "AAARRRGGGHHHH!!! I GOT SHOT!!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ben inches forward, crossbow readied for a skeleton.
Grax yells out in rage as his shield is all messed up because of the acid. He's too busy to deal with the new attackers. He swings his sword at the last skeleton, again using two hands in an attempt to shatter it. Attack: 9 Damage: 2 and his anger gets the better of him as his sword takes a chunk out of the cavern wall.
The boss yells out "WE ARE UNDER ATTACK! FROM THE SOUTH! FIND THEM AND KILL THEM!" he moves his small orbs around so they light up the lower passageway.
((I am keeping track of the duration of the dancing light spell, and we are approaching the end of the spell. I won't tell you exactly when it ends. Just know that I'm keeping track. To re-cast will use an action. Lil' meta there.))
The boss continues to yell "WILLARD! DOWN THAT PASSAGEWAY! FIND THEM! I shall dispense of these skeletons."
He sends 3 more of those glowing bullet-shaped lights towards the skeleton. If Grax killed the skeleton, all three will be at the hat skeleton. If not, then 1 will be at the regular skeleton, and 2 at the hat. 224
The first bullet hits the skeleton in the head and it's skull explodes. Like it was shot with a pistol in the head point blank. The next two slam into the hat skeleton.
*those men did have their crossbows readied when they were pointing them into darkness earlier. Should you peek out now, they will have a reaction shot now that the cavern is lit up. Readied action being shooting at the first thing they see.
The rear man's target would get half cover due to the other guy standing in front of him.

The woman, seeing Grax just obliterate the skeleton, holds her ground and keeps firing arrows. "YEAH GRAX! DEFEND!"
Attack: 6 Damage: 5
Attack: 22 Damage: 3
The first arrow chips a good chunk of bone off the skeleton in the front. The other arrow misses.

((She nonetheless switches from readying a dash, to readying a slingshot attack instead, triggered by seeing any enemy.
However (as per the rules), she reserves the right to ignore the trigger, if it happens)).
