And that does it. Ben and Ess's blades slide into the unsuspecting person's back as Ash and Korrik also engage. The staff connects and so does Korrik's fist. Ash's daggers smack the head, and the smuggler is dead.
((Ash, were you switching off of non-lethal in light of the stabbing? Otherwise I think you can opt to drop them to a stable 0HP if you land the finishing blow?))

"Toss him back in the room and let's check that door over there (door number 1)."
He will clean the blood and cross to door, giving it a knock. If there is an answer he'll give the captain wants to see you bit. If not he'll test the door to see if it's locked, if it is open he'll peek in.
((Sorry about that, I was sure I wrote something about pass without trace, but I can't seem to find it anywhere! So it took 25-30 minutes to row to the boat and board, etc. so yeah with all of the action on the ship so far, it's going to be expiring any minute. I think if you quickly toss the freshly killed person back in their quarters and not search them, it'll be up for this last door check.))
Ben, no one answers the door. It is unlocked. You open it, and see that it is a galley.
A crude metal stove, not lit, leans against the hull. It has an adjustable metal chimney that can be placed through a vent hole when it is opened. Next to the stove is an open metal bin containing sticks of wood kindling, and beside this is a large wood table, bolted firmly to the deck, with a thick top crisscrossed with score marks. The table has a large drawer.
Hanging from hooks set into the hull above the table are two iron frying pans, two saucepans, and a skillet. Set against the bulkhead opposite is a large cask filled with clear liquid. Beside this stands a wooden cupboard. Against the bulkhead beside the forward door is a wooden upright chair, and hanging from the center of the deck above is an unlit, hooded lantern.
Another closed door leads north.
What is next? Pass without trace ending momentarily.
"Well. We know where the kitchen is now. So, the question is do we take care of the lizardfolk or head back down? We know where the crew quarters are so we could check the other doors first or deal with the remaining crew, should be about three."
He thinks for a moment,
"My vote would be to check the other doors first."
She quickly re-checks the oars and ropes already securing the lizard-folk’s door. Then she catches up with Ben and the others heading to the next door.
((Ash would reassure Korrik that the extra stealth was SO clutch while they were infiltrating and taking the first few out, but if they end up alerting the remaining few now, then they could probably handle it from here on out))
Yep, I would say that pass without trace has now expired, likely the moment you stepped down to the 3rd level.
Alright - Ben, no one answers when you knock and speak.
Ben, please roll a stealth check if you are opening the door to peek your head in. It is not locked. Without giving anything away, the DC for this situation is quite low, but I still need a roll.
Everyone else, let me know if I have the positioning correct on the map, level 3!
Alright, time for another DM check -> 16 results if applicable will play out in-game.
So there's someone sleeping in this room. It seems to be another personal quarters. When you knocked and said the captain line, it almost woke him up, but not quite. Maybe he rolled around a bit, not it didn't completely wake him. A noisy door would've completely woke him, but you were able to open the door without him waking up.
I've updated the map and bestiary tabs with this new person.
So the guy is sleeping. If anyone gets close to him to attack, another stealth roll will need to be made to see if he wakes up as you approach. Again, a relatively low DC here.
His reaction will depend on who he sees, etc.
No details yet about the room, just what you can see on the map.
You now also start to hear some muffled speech getting louder and maybe a bit boisterous coming from the room to the north.
((Are the lanterns lit down here or are we in the dark? If they're lit, I think I'll have Korrik go snuff the one to the NW. If they already are, he'll hold position and keep any eye to the door to the north and wait for Ben.))

"Best we block the door by the captain's cabin somehow, probably fine with just a barrel. Then let's go down a level."
Once that's done and everyone is with him ready to go, Bent goes to door number 3 and knocks saying,
"Hey, captain wants you."
If there is no answer he will test to see if the door is locked, if it isn't he'll poke his head in.
