Korrik and Ash, both of your readied attacks will trigger given what this new frog person seems to be doing.
You all see that the new frog seems to be making some type of show. A grand show of battle. It is raising its spear up in the air and belching out some type of war cry. The other 2 are doing the same thing. It is something different than the first wave of them were doing. Those ones it seemed more like an ambush. (which it was). This time, you get a sense that this new frog person is maybe trying to put on a show for someone...
The new frog and the 2 familiar ones leap forward their 20 feet. Korrik and Ash see that they are clearly hostile and let loose their readied attacks. Both the dart and the dagger stick into the new looking frog person, and it seems to be quite angered by this as it tries to flick the dagger and dart off it. (-6, -8)
The 2 familiar frogs take a light footed stance, getting ready to dodge more ranged attacks from you.
The new frog person then starts to belch out a pattern of croaks and bubbles, nothing like you've seen it do before when it was giving its show. The 2 familiar frogs seem to react quite positively to this. (+10 temp HP to each of them)
Ess is up next. He had taken out his longbow last turn and drank the potion. This time, he moves back near Ash, takes a deep breath, and fires an arrow directly at the new frog person.
Ben casts an anxious look around for whoever the show might be for before taking a step to the west (to be within 60') and yelling at the new big frogman,
"You were a fool to attack us, and now you're dead!"
He then starts to whisper and hiss at the new frog man.
Dissonant whispers: 16
Unsettling words subtract from wisdom from their save: 6
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ben, the new frog persons eyes get real wide as you whisper and hiss at it. The thing really does not like your words and noises, and starts to really shake its head uncontrollably as it takes the full psychic damage from the spell and falls to the ground, splashing in the swamp waters as the other 2 remaining bullywugs look bewildered.
As soon as that frog person falls into the swamp dead, you all see more frogs emerge. Lots of them. They start to emerge from the swamp, and there's another new frog that also joins the fray. This one has a makeshift crown, and it is clear from one glance that it must be some sort of leader from how it's dressed. And... its riding a giant frog.
This is the one that the frog that Ben just killed must've been making a show for. Both of these new creatures (the leader and the giant frog it is riding) have been added to the bestiary tab.
It seems that this leader is almost laughing that the previous frog was killed so easily as it starts to join the battle along with the huge frog that it's riding. It seems to be trying to communicate to you all with harsh croaks and aggressive gestures, like a boasting of its prowess in battle. Without allowing it to 'communicate' excessively when its not its turn, it just seems to be trying to intimidate you all or scare you away given the movements its making when it bursts on the scene.
The other new frogs (10 of them) seem to be standing at attention vs. in a fighting stance.
So, these new creatures (1 new frog, 1 giant frog its riding and 10 additional 'guard' frogs) will start in the next round. The 10 new ones will use the same initiative as the previous ones (initiative of 2).
Initiative of leader: 3
Initiative of giant frog: 7
Oh, those other 2 bewildered bullywugs (the ones with the 10 temp hp and that were active this round) take no action on their turn other than to almost bow at the new frog that comes into the battle.
Korrik and Ash both move back and remain light on their feet, and Ess (now completely wide-eyed) nods at Ash's command as she moves back.
The frog leader, riding its giant frog (which moves later in the round), continues to try and communicate to you all with harsh croaks and aggressive gestures, boasting of its prowess in battle. It raises up its mace and kind of smacks the frog its riding. It does this for its entire turn, and so because of that, you all get a clearer idea at what the creature might be getting at.
Its throat gets real puffy, like it is threatening all of you and its clear that it wants you to leave. Now.
That is the creatures entire turn. I suppose I will roll an intimidation check, but in this case it is just for flavor as a high roll will not automatically make you guys leave. Unless you want it to.
Ben watches the boss frog put on it's act and notes that none of the other frog people moved, or for that matter, look ready to attack.
In his head thinks,
"It's a show then? Well, let's see who is the better showman."
He starts moving towards the boss frog, and begins to yell, using thaumaturgy to cause his voice to boom thunderously (and if the DM is kind let his eyes glow red in the falling night). He will pull his rapier out and point it at the boss frog as he does so.
He calls out in infernal,
"Tmuw edity wpyddw kiv vorv xe val'z ducy uz myry. Ga isih duzzdy oraq ar vuy."
A roll:14
((I guess intimidation? Maybe performance? Same modifier. Rolled with advantage if the thaumaturgy gives it.))
The frog's was more of just a flavor roll, it wasn't meant to affect the party's decision to stay or go either way. They were trying to act intimidating, and if it was in fact actually intimidating or not to you guys, it doesn't matter to them. That's what they were sticking with. However, Ben's roll will determine if the frog stays or goes.
It can be either intimidation or persuasion. Which one would Ben have done, and what is the total roll with the bonus? No problem about thaumaturgy and those cool details! And that advantage roll is fine.
((Ben's preference is always to persuade, he is more about flattery than threats!
That said, I approached it from the standpoint that they don't understand what he is saying so he was putting on a show. If it is between persuasion or intimidation, the show was more the latter.
That 14 is the intimidation roll with the bonus.))
Korrik is mostly puzzled, as the frogs were talking one language, and Ben is talking another.
The general message of what the frogs were trying to get across and Ben's subsequent show/attempt of intimidation I think would be able to be distinguished regardless of the language barrier here.
((Less that he's clueless, and more he's wondering if Ben understood them, or is just being Ben. He's come to expect much more than a 14 from his friend.))

((It was a bad performance. Always happens when I get a grand idea in my head for something. A devil man with glowing eyes and a booming voice yelling in a nasty sounding language sounded like a solid performance. The dice though it was meh. Whatcha gonna do.))
Ok Ben, the frog leader starts to belch and burp and gulp and laugh (you think?) when you use your magic to boom your voice. Your sword isn't much help either along with your infernal speech. The frog doesn't understand you of course, although you can tell from its reaction that it did not have the desired effect that you were looking for.
With that, the giant frog leaps forward with the laughing/belching leader still riding it. The leader farts a few times as its pet leaps through the air closer to the party.
All of the other frogs remain where they are, raising their spears and cheering and watching the battle that they think is about to ensue. They take no other action.

Longbow: 16 Damage: 5
The arrow sticks into the frog's body.
Ess says to Ash enthusiastically "YEAH!"
Ben is up!
Map is updated.
*the 2 regular frogs are dodging.
**sorry, the 2 frogs didn't jump ahead yet, nor are they dodging!
The leader sung his song, then jumped forward.

As she passes Ess, she whispers, “Keep on your toes and dodge anything they might throw at us… back away slowly but get ready if we need to run…”.

Ash can recognise an intimidation-off from a mile away, and is right on board with that.
She brandishes both her daggers, bares her teeth and hisses and roars like a jungle cat. This time standing her ground in solidarity with Ben…
