OOC: Suppose Erika helped Ted there, for the advantage roll? We can just stick with that, Erika helping each "round" of singing. More fun for you to roll your own dice!
Erika helps along Ted's performance, though there is a definite roll in her eyes as he sings about himself, as she wonders if her last night will be in this crappy dive. She eyes Molle, hoping that some bit of the song inspires her.
Bardic Inspiration to Molle (1d6), and helping her in turn
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Molle knocks back her shot, before standing up herself. She places a foot on her seat, and glances to Erika before continuing where Ted left off. "He traveled all across the land, never bothering the common man. Moving with a confident stride and no trace of fear in his eyes. Everyone he's met has been struck with please, but he's at his best when there's a royal coin to plunder. There's no con off the table for his handy bandit, even if you think you've heard it all. You might think him a roguish scoundrel, capable of it all."
She inhales sharply, as she prepares for the new chorus. She kicks the chair out, and does a little twirl. “Dra, Dra, Dra Dreadbane, savior of the Emberan, there was a man that was really smooth. Dra, Dra, Dra Dreadbane, things would never be the same, once you got caught up in his groove.”
She starts to drift towards the door, covering it as some flourishing spins.
Roll time:
Performance: 19 second roll with (dis)advantage 3 Inspiration d6: 3 and Bardic Inspiration: 2 So a 24 or a 20 on the performance overall
Erika jumps down from the table, pausing the flute to for a quick clap clap clap. She resumes, looking at Trixie, and ready to bolt for the kitchen door, moving her feet towards that direction.
OOC: OK guys first off bardic inspo and my inspo can't stack but the help action and bardic OR my inspo can. I should have said but I will now and it future please remember. "That's...terrible," Gen-ga frowns in reply as Zira stands instantly absorbed in thought.
Both Ragnar and Gen-ga see her go completely still as her bright yellow eyes glaze over completely white.
"Ambush in the mountains. Candor's group killed all but one, Ragnar Knutsson. Please advise." Zira says out loud in clear short bursts of speech before blinking her eyes and seeming like she's listening. Seconds later she comes out of her state and turns to Ragnar.
"Madame Holbright has been notified. I am so sorry for your ordeal Ragnar. This...being your first trip out too. I...are you quite sure you're alright to travel with us? We leave tomorrow and not to appear unremorseful about the loss of our brethern but we must proceed as planned," she explains as Gen-ga looks to speak but says nothing seemingly engrossed in thought. "We welcome the aid. This...monsterous man and bandits. I have never encountered such a force before. Sure they've taken pot shots at us and tried to overtake the wagons with an attack but...weres? How could they possibly be involved," sje adds next being more fixated on the whys than the deaths themselves. Realizing this quickly however Zira speaks up. "They were good people all," she adds quickly touching Ragnar's arm. "I am...truly sorry," she finishes prompting Gen-ga to speak.
"Yes, are you sure you want to travel with us? Surely returning to the Institute to...to rest to collect yourself might be the wiser course of action," Gen-ga offers their bronze scaled face easily expressing sincere concern.
Meanwhile across town at Duncan's....
Most of the crowd seems at least occupied by the show as Erika opens, Ted carries it, and Molle too seems to gather more attention. So far the patrons seem entertained but they're pretty hard to read completely. As Areon moves closer to the kitchen door however it's closed and being made of solid wood he would have to open it to discern anything about the kitchen or its exit. Approaching it further from the party's entertainment space one of the men at the bar not in the semi-circle catches Areon's arm then points back towards the other's in the party.
"Your up next I think. You going to juggle bottles from the bar or something half breed," the stout human man says through blacken crooked teeth as he grimaces at Areon.
The thin weasely bartender moves closer to the kitchen door entrance resting his back against the jam as the halfling women scurry about serving drinks once more.
OOC: Areon deception please with whatever you're going to add to disguise your intentions (you can use inspo from me but Erika can't give you help or inspo for your part in crowd control? IDK)

“I have rested too long already,” Ragnar begins. “Back home, the Earl would be wondering if I had lost my nerve and that perhaps I should join the children and watch over the goats.”
At the mention of home, for the briefest of moments he feels the tug of dark memories trying to escape where he has sealed them off in the back of his mind.
“I’m ready. I won’t be a burden.”
Ragnar hoists a mug of ale, raising it high while looking skyward.
”To Candor and the others. May they already be feasting in Valhall.”
Ragnar then drains his ale in one long pull and wipes his bearded face with the back of his hand. Then he claps both Gen-ga and Zira on their backs.
"They've gone out and one...well sadly departed. Not a good start is it," Zira replies frowning. "The lot that I hope is just sowing some oats before we get down to business is here in the city. I'd have thought here would have been the place to drink if any..." she trails off with a shrug.
"Yes, well that Dreadbane..." Gen-ga begins frowning. "He reminds me of you when we were younger," they add looking at Zira as Zira looks astonished but before she can protest Gen-ga continues! "Plenty of trouble to be had here just as much as anywhere if one seeks it out but maybe I'm wrong. I prefer a pint here and a log fire with superior company in my old age," they add quickly trying to defuse the situation they created by reminding Zira of her past bad behavior but it doesn't seem to work!
"Well shall we comb the streets then? I mean if I was so terrible," Zira replies frowning looking to Ragnar next. "I am glad you'll join us Ragnar. Now if you'll excuse me..." She says trailing off as she stalks off from the table towards the front door of the tavern and inn.
Zira then disappears outside as Gen-ga lets out a long sigh.
"Care to take a stroll in the night air," Gen-ga asks Ragnar with a soft expression.
Whether Ragnar agrees or not Gen-ga goes after Zira.

Trixi never heard of either that rhythm or the song and did not even try to imitate it. But she caught the tune and with - as she hoped - help of Erika's sharp hearing and experience, turned it into a common song of the sailors, the one that carries the sound of crashing waves and roaring wind in it. She jumped on the bar between the group and the door, as if to be better seen, and added gestures to the tune. The wisps of the mist begun to float between the patrons in front of the group, that turned into a thick fog suddenly, while behind the group of the five most relentless bandits a giant tentacle leaped to the ceiling.
Performance (with bardic inspiration and Erika's Help): 7 + 2 or (for help) 22 + 6
Fog Cloud Trixi casts at lvl 2, so, the fog sphere should be 40-foot-radius. The idea is to place it in a way, that hides everything but the path between the group and the door. (The table was "near the kitchen door" right?)
Tentacle of the Deeps - not striking (yet) just summoning as part of performance.
("jumped on the bar" was not literal - it's not an acrobatic trick, but a figure of speech she just climbed there)
OOC: Trixi is casting so as to not seem like your preparing to attack (remember magic is rare here) a verbal and somatic components I need her to roll deception or sleight of hand to disguise her intentions. Also are you trying to heavily obscure the kitchen entrance at the end of the the bar behind your table with the bartender stood beside it. Trixi can't put the fog cloud between the party and the people because there's less than 15ft between the party and the patrons so you'll engulf literally all the party and patrons and most of that area with 40ft which will bump against the walls too if the back side of the tavern.
“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
Ragnar watches Zira head out into the night air, and then as Gen-ga starts to leave as well, Ragnar drains the second mug of ale, and trots off after the dragonborn.
"I'm coming, I'm coming," Ragnar calls after the pair.
As he steps outside, Ragnar smiles. Perhaps his new crew have found somewhere more rousing than this quiet inn.
Trixi is singing and waving hands as if it is all part of the song - the spell words and gestures are part of the act.
We know where the doors are and the group is ready, but the idea is to cover everything and everyone but the path to the door and our group.
OOC: Trixi only gets a d6 not another roll. You'd add the d6 roll for my inspo to your 7 deception. Also I am telling you there isn't enough space for a 40ft fog cloud NOT to cover the literal bar and kitchen entrance as well as the party performance space and some of the five patrons. My map in the PM was a suggestion of space not the exact space itself. I'd say the room is longer than it is wide. It's 40ft wide by 60ft long. It was a small bar remember there's not even a stage.
Areon makes his comments as Trixi comes up to the bar conjures and releases the spell that entire end of the bar is engulfed! Heavily obscuring everyone. Everyone now has difficulty using skills/actions that require sight and will roll with disadvantage.
Releasing the spell kicks off initiative!
The bar (because I'm not rolling 14 separate times) 20.
OOC: I'll say y'all all get a technical surprise round because Trixie's spell, although drawing attention, has now left the party as described heavily obscured. So, surprise round for the initial round then initiative order will follow.

As soon as Trixi's spell is released, Erika stops playing her flute and rushes for the Kitchen door. She had dropped down from the table so she would have a clear path, but last she saw the bartender was still standing in the way. Quickly stashing her flute in her belt, she prepares to shoulder-check the bartender if he's still at the door... or burst through the door itself, depending on if she makes physical contact with the man. She hopes he won't see it coming regardless. She lets out a battlecry, the words fierce on her lips.

With the grace of a cat, Ted follows the sound of Erikas shouts keeping his footsteps as light as possible as he holds his breath to stay as noiseless as he can. He slowly draws his rapier from his scabbard in anticipation ready to stab anything that comes at him. The whiskey holds his nerves, as the adrenaline rush forces Ted’s mouth into a wide, tight grin.
OOC: Erika roll a perception check with disadvantage to see if you can find the door without bumping into the between you at it. You're rushing blindly into a space. IF You make it to the door we'll apply your shoulder check against the bartender. Ted you can't hide and move. It's one or the other. You're obscured. You need to use an action of perception at disadvantage to find the door. You can stealth with advantage because of boots yes and the cloud helps too but you're at a disadvantage moving to the door because the unfamiliar room is heavily obscured area. EVERYONE is at disadvantage of any skill/action that require sight, as I said, because the fog cloud.
