Phillip, the guides would tell you and Alton that travelling fast gives the party a chance to travel a further distance, but the party's perception of their surroundings might not necessarily be the same as when they are travelling at a normal pace.
Evo, Azaka would respond "Yes, Cleric of Selûne, t'was an interesting pamphlet indeed. She wields great power, which I think I always knew... at least ever since I was changed. I suppose I have a stronger bond with her than I know. Or realize. Happy its her and not Malar like the evil lyc's around. Some of them can't stop preaching about him. I think it was one of the last words out of a werewolf's mouth that I killed one time. Had no choice."
Evo, Eku responds: "Yes Evo, my celestial origins bind me to this, and for that I am proud. It is my ultimate goal to rid the jungle of the evil that infests it."
She would also tell you these tidbits about her in conversation, but nothing else specifically about family:
- She is on good terms with the aarakocra of Kir Sabal. You'll notice I've uncovered that section on the map. She's happy to give more information about this location, and them.
- I may have mentioned this, but she’s made numerous treks to Nangalore to retrieve rare flowers. Also uncovered area on map, and will give more info if you want.
- Eku also knows about the evil gargoyles that guard Omu, though she’s never fought them.
About the hag, she would explain that she had great love and respect for the people of Mbala (located on the map), who were tricked and eaten by a green hag named Nanny Pu’pu. Eku regards the hag as one of the greatest evils in Chult.
((my RP skills are not the greatest, and it takes me much longer to do that, and well there are 2 NPC's that I wasn't necessarily anticipating :) so if it's cool I might just RP a bit for them, and then summarize the rest. Especially for the more detailed questions/responses and if there are a lot of questions. Which is totally ok!))
Let's do the same for Azaka, here's what she would've said during conversation (actually there's only one other thing other than the Firefinger)
- She is acquainted with Saja N’baza, the powerful and wise guardian naga of Orolunga, and gladly leads characters to the naga if they’re looking for guidance. Location is on the map. More info can be given.
Gotur, you had the late afternoon and evening for time, so it's up to you how much time you spend on the potion work less the eating/talking/sight seeing/camp prep (if any) time.
Let me know if I missed anything!
I will start day 2 travel later this morning. I hope :)
((Fine with the shortened RP, especially with information dumps.))
To Azaka,
"Well, now ye know Selune is there should ye be interested in strengthening the bond." He frowns at the mention of Malar, "Aye, Malar does inspire a following more blinded by savage focus. Ye don't have to defend yer actions to meh, ye were there."
He gives her a nod of understanding and asks if they should make a visit to Saja N’baza, guidance is always welcome. He would also confirm that Eku thinks it is a good idea.
He would ask Eku if Nangalore and Kir Sabal are worth a visit, but both seem to very out of the way we are heading if we are going to Mbala next?
Azaka would explain that Saja N’baza is a guardian naga, and that she would have vast knowledge of the land of Chult and its current happenings and would likely be an invaluable resource should the party want to travel there.
Eku is 100% on board with going there on this journey, as she does know of the guardian naga who watches over the ruined ancient city of Orolunga. (this location is on the map. Look west). It would also be an option after finishing up at Mbala.
Eku would say that there could potentially be lots of unclaimed treasure at Nangalore which is a beautiful jungle-garden ruins, although more important to her would be ridding the natural garden of its current inhabitants - undead. She's been able to retrieve some rare flowers from the garden, but she can never spend a lot of time due to the monsters that inhabit it.
Eku would explain that Kir Sabal is home to a flock of aarakocra with whom she has a great relationship with and is a peaceful sanctuary where heroes can find rest and safety — if they can reach it. The ancient monastery is over 500ft up! The aarakocra at Kir Sabal might be a valuable resource to help the party's main quest.
Oh, I forgot to mention, Azaka would've said that she is deathly afraid of heights, and will likely not willingly go higher than 60ft if she is in danger of falling without being extremely uncomfortable. :)
Evo, you have a general understanding of hags in general. They are nasty. Pretty much the opposite of you. Hags represent all that is evil and cruel. Though they resemble withered crones, there is nothing mortal about these monstrous creatures, whose forms reflect only the wickedness in their hearts. You know they all possess magical powers. You know they do horrific things to children. They are what nightmares are made of. They usually create covens and maintain contact with each other and share knowledge. Hags dwell in dark and twisted woods, bleak moors, storm-lashed seacoasts, and gloomy swamps.
I'd say you aren't sure how they attack specifically.
As far as which location to go to first, the guides would ideally want to deal with their main quests first and then their secondary locations could be of assistance with the party's main destination (Omu). They would suggest the party discusses each option as we complete each 'quest' to make sure we plan the best way.
Start of day 2 post coming up later! Keep hammering the RP and questions my way in the meantime if need be! There is a TON to this game and so ask as much as you want and I will give as much as I can.
This is meta, but like most of the locations on the map have huge sub-maps. It's pretty crazy. Some locations are just info and fluff, but some are huge maps and mini-adventures within this vast jungle.
We could be playing for years depending on which way the party takes and what locations they explore along the way. hahaha

The party manages to travel 2 hexes south along the river. It is super hot, the scenery is amazing and so far this trip has been nothing short of paradise! Some of you might be starting to feel a bit uncomfortable with the heat, but overall this has been a breeze compared to what some of the people you spoke with had been making it out to be.
((the fast pace did not end up helping on this day))
There are no encounters the entire morning, afternoon, or evening/overnight on the second day.
I know you guys did a lot of RP the first night, but please feel free to do any more and/or ask the NPC's questions.
Otherwise we will move to day 3.
I have updated the Chult map with the flag with the day 2 progression.

Phillip will pass most of the day very happily again. He’ll spend some time foraging for fresh food, if he can. And he’ll either swim for an hour during the day to re-hydrate himself, or spend some of his down-time meditating in his magical watery-sphere.
If Eku has feathers, he’ll try and ask tactfully if they moult, and if he could have one or two, to re-feather a couple of his arrows.
Towards the end of the day’s travel (about forty miles or so out from the city) the party have to navigate the boats around a large rock in the river. As they do so, Phillip announces that he’s... ... ‘now’... further back into the jungle than he’s been in a long time... since back when he was rescued and taken in by Syn, back when he was only a youngling.
For a short time after that, he seems to be a little more serious and anxious than he’s been up until now.
Phillip, the guides would tell you and Alton that travelling fast gives the party a chance to travel a further distance, but the party's perception of their surroundings might not necessarily be the same as when they are travelling at a normal pace.
