"Here, you can have mine as I have no need for it. Drink your fill please. I also have a couple of rations you can share if you need sustenance. I can't get these ropes off but one of the others will help free you so you can be on your way back to safety. Meepo is right, you do not want to stay here."
13 steps back through the doorway to guard the area should anyone else come looking.
“We will get you out, and out of this place, don’t worry. Friends, I need some help with this cage.” She looks to the others for assistance while she tries to determine how it opens.

((OOC: Sorry but family/work over past few days was demanding))
Carric's tender heart aches as he sees the kobolds and gnomes being held prisoner in miserable condtions. He quietly helps the others as best he can. His short sword is drawn for the first time since he met the others to help free the prisoners of their bonds. He manages that as quickly as he can then turns to the caged gnome.
"I am but an amateur with these tools, but I will try to free you, Erky Timbers," he says quietly. "My name is Carric."
The monk takes a deep breath to steady himself, slowly exhales, then sets to work on the cage's lock. Dexterity Check 20
Carric'sblade slices easily through the bindings holding the kobolds. Suddenly free, and with no chance of being spared should their escape be discovered, they heed Meepo's advice and flee in the direction from which you came.
Turning his attention to Erky's cage, Carric locates a small lock and sets to work. Despite the distraction of Erky whimpering and flinching at every click and hesitation, Carric eventually hears once more the satisfying click of a lock relenting to his expertise.
The gnome acolyte jumps free of the cage and leaps into a series of stretches, each one punctuated by an "Oooh", an "Ahhh" or a "Why ya-"
Once his little routine is over, Erky turns to your group, almost crying with gratitude. "Thank you! I really thought I was done for in here. Please, before I flee this dark place and spend every remaining minute of my life in the company of mead and pastry, let me know how I can possibly repay you"
"Do you know anything of this place? Anything that could help?" Eerie asks curiously, "We are trying to rescue a captive dragon and looking for The Outcast." She passes 13s waterskin back to him with a nod of thanks.
@Notian: (I think you mean Insight if you want to work out if someone is telling the truth?)
“Thank you Carric, Eerie, friends. I’ve heard the goblins talk about the Twilight Grove down below. A wicked old human called Belak—a spellcaster, I suspect—tends an enchanted garden and harvests fruit from something the goblins call the Gulthias Tree, but they speak of it only in the most terrified of whispers. The enchanted fruit grows on the Gulthias Tree. I wonder if this Belak is the Outsider that you speak of?
I haven't heard a dragon, but the goblins that brought us the occasional meal did talk about a 'snake pet' they were keeping in the trophy room”
Carric listens carefully to the gnome's words, nodding slowly as more information about the citadel is revealed. He remains very intrigued by the healing powers of the fruit, thinking of what an orchard of such magical food could do for so many in Neverwinter.
He looks to the others. "It would be reasonable to think the 'snake pet' is indeed the young dragon, yes?"he asks them.
“Maybe.” She nods to the others, then turns back to the gnome. “Erky, you mentioned that you think Belak is a spellcaster. Have you seen him do any magic aside from tend to the tree?”
13 crouches behind the others with his blade across his lap whilst carefully sharpening the edges, waiting for his chance to speak.
"What brings you down here Erky? You seem a bit out of place in a this underground citadel amongst goblins and kobold? Any information you can provide about this grove, Belak and any dangers we might face would be of help. We would then see our debt repaid."
Erky seems sincere in his attempts to help: “Months past, I was on my way to seek my fortune and took the Old Road. My bad luck that the goblin bandits caught me; I’ve been here ever since. My deity’s blessings have kept me healthy; otherwise I’m sure I’d be dead from starvation and abuse. The goblins caught three other adventurers over a month ago, and they were captives with me in here for a while. They said their names were Talgen, Sharwyn, and Sir Braford. The goblins kept them in here only about a week before they removed them. Belak wanted them, and that’s the last I’ve heard about that.”
Answering Eerie’s question about Belak’s skills, he scratches his crown for a moment and says “I’ve not seen him at work, but his manner and the snippets I hear about his work with this tree suggest that he is a druid of some type. A powerful one, I’d wager”
Eerie perks up at this and looks to the others, "This could be quite the challenge. My parents were life long druids who shape-changed frequently into other animals. My father was known to shift into an eagle."
@dm - (Have we been able to get him out of the cage?) remind me of the room we are in?
“Those other prisoner names. They sound familiar for some reason. Do you recall any mention of them before?” She says thoughtfully turning to the group.
Eerie helps Erky up. "You mentioned your diety? Do you know where your possessions were taken?" She looks back to where the other Kobolds were and looks to see if they have left to return or stayed.
13 shakes his head to Eerie's question. "Not names that I have heard of."
He stands up tall and rolls his shoulders over a couple of times. "I for one am ready to move on if you are all in agreement? Erky, do you intend to travel back to the surface yourself and will you be safe? You are more than welcome to travel further with us. We will do our utmost to keep you safe?
Alternatively, if you decide to make your own way back, then seek Yusdrayl the kobold leader. I'm sure she will offer you some care if you tell her that we freed you, and that you assisted us in our journey."
He nods, and returns to the northern room, hopping over the short wall and guards the doors whilst waiting.

Eerie reaches for 13s waterskin gratefully and holds it so the Gnome can drink from it and feeds him bits of the rations.
The gnome drinks thirstily from the offered waterskin "Oh thank you, by all that is holy to all people!"
Refreshed, he slumps back in the cage: "My name is Erky, Erky Timbers. I've been here for so long, please tell me you can get me out"

(Yes, Erky is out of the cage)
