^Title. I was given a Griffon egg in my campaign, but my DM and I have no idea how long it takes for one to hatch. I'm trying to care for it with prestidigitation to keep it a cozy lil egg, but does anyone have any idea about how long it lasts?
By averaging out the gestation period of an eagle (7 days until laying then 35 days of incubation before hatching) and a lion (110 days) would probably give a good answer, though the answer could vary based on whether Griffon's in your game are more connected to their uterus' by their mammalian or bird geneology.
If they are mammalian, and simply birth their offspring, you'd be looking at 76 days (11 weeks) until birth.
If they lay eggs, it'd be more along the lines of 12 days for the egg to be laid, and then 64 days (9 weeks) of incubation before hatching.

Hope this helped! (So much fantasy maths)
Probably how I would rule it as well!

i am kinda new to D&D and have an ebilis egg and don't know how to hatch it, i have been searching all over online but cannot get anything on how to hatch it, I am starting to think that I should draw a smiley face on it with the Deinonychus blood that I have. (I do not have a book to refer to for any d&d stuff so all my info is from online)
Until the DM feels you are ready. Who says it was just laid?
I personally would wait till they go up a level. Boom, instant reward. (Choose your class wisely - might be the right time to multi-class into ranger or druid)

Aren't Enchantment Wizards just...charming?
If I were a GMing your game i'd probably rule a few weeks, or until a dramatically appropriate moment.

A dramatically appropriate moment is the correct answer.
I think If they are mammalian, and simply birth their offspring, it may be take about 76days ( 11 weeks ) until birth. Hope this is helpful for you.
I think I can provide you some information. Do you want to know how long does it takes for birds eggs to hatch?
