The term half feat is kind of confusing. What it means is that the feat will give you 1 ability score increase and some other fun stuff. Look at the Observant feat for example. People consider this a half feat because you still get an ASI but in reality it is just a single feat. You can't take two of them.
What Lathius said. They still count as full feats, but contain half an ASI (almost all already decided). Here is a list as of now (racial prerequisites noted):
The term originates from the fact that you normally obtain a feat by taking it instead of an ability score increase. Since an ability score increase gives you two points to spend on ability scores, and some feats give you one, these are called "half" feats (as they are part feat, part ability score increase).
It's a little misleading since most limit you in your choice of ability score increase, but in general they give one point to spend on an ability, and they give you some kind of other benefit which isn't as powerful as you might get from a "full" feat (though in reality feat balance is all over the place, some half feats are really good, some full feats can be quite weak etc.).

Thanks for all the info. I was confused about these half and full feats as well. I never found the term used in any of the books. Also I saw a video that where the guy building a character said he could take a half feat because he had an odd number for his ability score. Does anyone know where that rule could be found in writing? Thanks for any help.
That's not about a rule, it's about gains; if you have an odd number in an ability score you want to increase, then you only need to increase it by 1 point to get the main improvement of increasing your ability score mod there, and so unless there's another odd ability score you want to boost it's more beneficial to find a half feat you want that will boost the score and mod by 1 and give you additional stuff rather than boost that score by 2 while still only increasing the mod by 1.
Hi All,
I was just wondering if anyone knows which are half feats and which are full. Also when you level up, can you take two half feats?
Thanks
