As part of the starting session of a campaign I'm playing in, we are forced to put on bracelets as part of the captivity, being told that it is to track us. When we put them on, they re-sized to be pretty snug on my wrist, but became light enough to be not too noticeable unless looked at. Upon using Detect Magic, I discovered that it is enchanted with divination, transmutation, enchantment, and necromancy spells. Any mechanics you folks can think of to remove this? Trying to get a game plan set for escaping
It sounds like they're homebrew by the DM, which typically means the DM won't let them be removed until the pre-determined part of the story. The bracelets are part of the plot, and the DM wants the party to figure out what they do, rather than just remove them and leave them behind. Your best bet at getting them off is figuring out what all they do. Divination is likely how they're tracking you. Transmutation is likely how they re-sized to get stuck on your arms. Enchantment and Necromancy could possibly be nasty effects that happen to you if you somehow get them off, sort of like a dead man's switch.
If you're still interested in suggestions for a quick potential solution: Rules as Written, a L2+ Druid can Wildshape into a beast, causing the bracelet to fall to the ground. And if your DM arbitrarily says this doesn't work, then any effects of the bracelet would be fully suppressed and non-functional while you are wildshaped with the bracelet merged into your form.
You choose whether your equipment falls to the ground in your space, merges into your new form, or is worn by it. Worn equipment functions as normal, but the DM decides whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment, based on the creature's shape and size. Your equipment doesn't change size or shape to match the new form, and any equipment that the new form can't wear must either fall to the ground or merge with it. Equipment that merges with the form has no effect until you leave the form.
If it resizes then it stays even when wildshaped unless the shape does not have that body part.
The rules for Wildshape specifically gives the Druid the choice to merge, wear, or drop any of their equipment, which would include magic items, so re-sizing doesn't really factor in (RAW). The druid isn't doffing the bracelet, the same way the druid wouldn't be doffing a set of leather armor if chosen to deposit it instead of merging with it. In both cases the item just appears at the Wildshaped Druid's feet.
Of course, I prefaced my comment above with the disclaimer that this is only if the DM doesn't exert DM Authority to overwrite rules explicitly written in the rulebooks.
If the bracelets are cursed, or the Enchantment magic on them prevents the characters from taking actions that would remove the bracelets, then a Remove Curse or Dispel Magic would enable the bracelet to be taken off, though it might require another character to cast it if the characters can't act on their own against their own bracelets.
+1 to fayettegamer. These are homebrew, they aren’t magic items, they are a plot device. Your DM will tell you when and how to take them off. I mean, they’re kind of a clumsy, railroad-y plot device, but sometimes you’ve just got to go with it.
Normally removing a cursed item from someone needs a dispel magic cast on the person or item or a remove curse cast. But your DM makes the final ruling. So you can try but I suspect you will fail. But try none the less. It part of role playing.

Ask your DM.
Don't go to online forums for tactics to avoid obstacles your DM set up for you. It's up to you to solve.

You can always chop your hand off, but im sure the dm will make you work even harder to find a healer that can restore it
