I want to get a cursed magic item for my PC, and I need some clarification on how cursed items work.
The magic item (Corecut Dagger) curses you when attuned, and the cure can be broken by the Remove Curse spell. The spell states:
At your touch, all curses affecting one creature or object end. If the object is a cursed magic item, its curse remains, but the spell breaks its owner’s attunement to the object so it can be removed or discarded.
If the spell is casted on the item, it removes the attunement as well. But if I cast it on the PC, does it remove the effect of the curse without breaking the attunement? If not, is there a way to remove a magic item's curse (as in ending its effect on the PC) without losing its benefits?
I'm not 100 percent sure I understand the question. But if I do the answer is, no. Cursed items are all or nothing. If you want to good parts, you have to take the bad parts, as well.

Unfortunately, the curse is built into the item permanently. The only feasible ways would be via Wish or Divine Intervention.
