I just started playing a new character that is a Echo Knight Fighter in a new campaign last night, and a few things came up that I did not know how to answer, so I wanted some of your input and thoughts.
When my Character manifests his Echo, the Echo Knight description states the following: [REDACTED]
The description states that the "echo is a magical, translucent, gray image of you", but I ran into a few situations that are not covered by the description, and I need further clarification:
The Echo is made of magic and translucent, but does it have weight? (My Echo stepped on a pressure plate, and sprung a trap)
If he is a grey translucent version of my character, would the Echo have advantage to hiding in shadowy areas?
Any clarifications are appreciated :)
Cheers!

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.

It's an image, images don't have weight
Your echo cannot do anything, it's just a marker for where your attacks can originate from and where you can teleport to. As such, your echo cannot hide or perform any other action. It can't do anything

Slight correction on #1. While an Echo has no weight, because you can use it to take the Attack action, you can use the Echo to attack objects or surfaces that might trigger traps. So the Echo may be used on occasion to such a purpose.
For reference, that's a 5547 word long post, to explain a subclass that has about 685 words to explain itself. Probably the most vaguely/terribly written subclass in DND history

The Echo Knight is so well written and designed (sarcasm btw) that it requires a lot of DM/Player interaction to figure out how anything works.
There is this thread that tries to answer some of the questions regarding this subclass:
