I'm considering the Barbarian with the Path of the Zealot, and I have questions about two specific components: Divine Fury and Brutal Strike.
Divine Fury states: You can channel divine power into your strikes. On each of your turns while your Rage is active, the first creature you hit with a weapon... Is that channeling an action? So Barbarian can at his/her first turn just activate Rage as BA and Divine Fury as A? D&D Beyond lists Divine Fury as an action, but I'm not entirely convinced.
Brutal Strike is also listed as an action on D&D Beyond. It sates: If you use Reckless Attack, you can forgo any Advantage on one Strength-based attack roll of your choice on your turn. The chosen attack roll mustn’t have Disadvantage. If the chosen attack roll hits, the target takes an extra 1d10 damage... and you can then choose one of two options. My question is, if I have an extra attack, can I use Brutal Strike on one attack and then make a second attack without it?

I don’t see anywhere in the rules stating it’s an action. It just something you can do on your turn while your Rage is active.

RAW, it's not an action, and I think your interpretation is right.

If an ability doesn't specifically say it requires an Action (or a Bonus Action or Reaction), then it doesn't.
Abilities that are used as part of other things that are themselves an Action are never Actions. They are sometimes Bonus Actions or Reactions, but if it doesn't say they are, then they're free.
Therefore:
Divine Fury is just something you do while raging. It's not even optional. First hit gets bonus damage always.
Brutal Strike is a free decision you make at the time you make your attack roll while using Reckless attacks. You can only use it once per turn. ("you can forgo any Advantage on one Strength-based attack roll")

Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this!

It's a error from D&D Beyond as it's not the case in print.
They aren't actually listed as actions in D&D Beyond either, at least not in the compendium or the web version of the character sheet.
I didn't look it up and went with what the OP said ''D&D Beyond lists Divine Fury as an action, but I'm not entirely convinced.''
Me too. I didn't check it; just trusted the OP.
Thanks for the information @wagnarokkr.
Yeah, I thought it might be a character sheet issue but I didn’t see anything. Not sure what the OP was seeing

Ha there it is thanks MistrzPodziemiFajnaEkipa for sharing your finding.
That's funny if it were correct. You would have to use an action and hit a creature, but the action does not give you the ability to make an attack.
