I have a drakewarden in my party who has reached level 11. You can probably see where this one is going!
"As an action, you can exhale a 30-foot cone of damaging breath or cause your drake to exhale it. Choose acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison damage (your choice doesn’t have to match your drake’s Draconic Essence). Each creature in the cone must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC, taking 8d6 damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
This damage increases to 10d6 when you reach 15th level in this class.
Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 3rd level or higher to use it again."
We are playing the rise of tiamat and he just acquired this doozy. "Mask of the Dragon" which allows....
"Dragon Breath. If you have a breath weapon that requires rest to recharge, it gains a recharge of 6."
Dear sweet jesus, please help to understand what is happening here.
It's simple: That's a breath weapon. Normally takes a rest to recharge. Now it recharges at the start of their turn if they roll a 6 on a 1d6 (they roll at the start of their turn, same as any monster with a Recharge ability).
Dear sweet jesus, please help to understand what is happening here.
What's happening is just what you think is happening. The mask is a Legendary item and thus meant to be really powerful (probably a bit more powerful than expected for a lvl 11 character).
