Same spell, but different issue. I interpret that you can make a ranged attack multiple times with a single casting until: 1. The spell ends by you casting it again. Or 2. The 10 minutes run out. Read it carefully. That’s how I read it. Thoughts?

Are you referring to the 2024 version or the 2014 version? Because the discussion from 2020 (with a last post in 2022) is definitely referring to the 2014 version.
Yes, the 2024 spell removed the language that has the spell end when used as an attack.
As an additional quirk due to how it works it can't be used as an attack when used with features like a eldritch knights war bond feature, its both a bonus action and the casting of the spell does not toss the flame, a sperate magic action does.(also its not a wizard spell) I do not think there is a ranger/druid version of that feature yet, but it I don't think its out of bounds, or a new wizard cantrip working in a similar fashion to this. I guess valor bard would have been a better example.

I do think a lot of DMs (myself included) would probably let an Eldritch Knight with War Magic replace one of their attacks with throwing fire from a 2024 Produce Flame they had already cast. While not allowed under a strict reading of the War Magic feature, it seems within the spirit of it.

pronouns: he/she/they
I'd allow it as well, its not like its a OP cantrip.
