So, when Fizban's was coming out, it was said there was no Draconian player race because Draconians were innately evil. However, in the book they aren't even "typically evil", they are "any alignment", so why didn't we get a Draconian player race?
The publication cycle could be part of it. The errata to alignment is rather recent.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
Based off the release schedule as mentioned above it seems this swap to "any alignment" may be a more recent development that WotC has taken a liking to. I am surprised however that with MotM we didn't get something like the draconians added.
Also because their main mechanical difference from dragonborn is exploding(I'm using that as a blanket term for all the effects) on death, which also makes them hard to resurrect. Changing the explosions so that draconians could be resurrected would summon an angry mob of Dragonlance fans.
