I'm trying to make a setting in future Earth where magic begins sprouting up in select people (protomages) and people are scared. They're getting full red scare communist treatment, where a prison island is being made off the coast of Florida into the Bermuda Triangle. The tower is engineered to be added to from the bottom for builder safety reasons (and so I can have a cool room always on top). I need to name it. :(
You could make it like a non-descript name an ominous like, "The Platform" or, "The Hole".
If it's off the coast of Florida near Cuba or Bermuda, there could be some kind of official name like, "Supermax Prison for the Arcane Powered" and maybe another name with local flavor as a nickname?
Carric Aquissar, elven wannabe artist in his deconstructionist period (Archfey warlock) Lan Kidogo, mapach archaeologist and treasure hunter (Knowledge cleric) Mardan Ferres, elven private investigator obsessed with that one unsolved murder (Assassin rogue) Xhekhetiel, halfling survivor of a Betrayer Gods cult (Runechild sorcerer/fighter)
Are they publicly acknowledging this as a prison, with the potentially problematic angle that this is a prison for people who haven’t necessarily committed crimes, or is it presented more euphemistically? If the latter, maybe something like “The Institute for Secure Observation of Anomalous Phenomena”.
This is the future United States? The US is pretty boring with its prison names; federal facilities are generally named either "United States Penitentiary, (City)(Security Level)" for high and maximum security institutions, or "Federal Correctional Institution, (City)(Security Level)" for medium and low security. If you want to spice that up you could (and from what you're describing probably should) invent a new security level for your facility. Something like "United States Penitentiary, Bermuda Triangle Esoteric" would fit the existing conventions but still have a little mystery to it.
Full name: The Sargasso Sea Facility for Arcane-enabled Persons.
(TRIVIA: The Bermuda Triangle extends into the Sargasso Sea of the Atlantic Ocean.)
For short, it's called "The Graveyard" because of the urban legends of lost ships and planes in the area and everyone knows it's a hellhole of a prison.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
A facility like this would have an extremely bland, sanitary name like the Paranormal Quarantine Center, PQC for short. And then the resistance runs with this abbreviation and calls it the Pickwick or the Peacock or something.
I was recently trying to come up with a more ominous prison name, for my own world. Maybe these will help inspire you: Ironbolt Prison, Darkwater Hold, the Stormvault, and Brinerot Tower.
Don't know if this has been said before, but what about Azkaban?

Hi there! My name's Elk. I'm NoiSilverheart's doppelgänger. I'm a demi/grayromantic, socially awkward Okie who may or may not be a pyromaniac. *random confetti blast*
I'm a warlock of the Archcrone, and my patron is TheFriendlyArchfey. I was nicknamed AchatesCervus8337 by VitusW and given the titles "Swashbuckling Scorcher", "The Unpredictable Jedi", "Burning Fury of the Ancients", and "Combustion Knight" by DrummerBoyDragonSlayer.

(Or it could be called Azkaban.)
What if the government just repurposed Guantanamo Bay as a magic prison, in keeping with your real world 'red scare' theme?
The Triangle
It works with the geography you intend and could also be the shape of the visible tower itself (instead of round).
"Null"
You could have a few of them from this name generator:
https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/prison-names.php
A few examples:
Saltwater Institute
Thunder Bay Correctional Centre
Wormwood Correctional Facility (my persoanl favourite out of the ones i've generated so far)

The Fell Tower
Aeternus
Absolution
Sundervoid
The Birdcage
Black Church

Edit: Could always even dip into mythology and just straight up call it Hades or Tartarus. Or call it The Maze and make all the guards minotaurs.
