Ok... here we go, so I was DMing a campaign with my two brothers and my friends. It was a homebrew setting and it was called 'throne quest'.
The party consisted of Dar Shield-face a blue dragonborn fighter with horrible stats, Feng a human monk the homicidal spock of the group, and... a kobold druid named Trip Ing. He was insane and OBSESSED with shiny things.
So this was a bit later on in the game and the three heroes where tasked withave clearing out an ancient gnomish factory of orcs, AND get the monk a special ability is god told him to get
The magic that powered the factory had become degraded causing a wild magic field. I just made up effectsome for the players. It was fun. I turned an orc into turtle AND gave another one the abilities and stats of a gelationus cube.
Thay finally got to the roof of the factory and start fighting a lich. Who JUST SO HAPPENED ton be this guy thay killed in the first session. He was trying to destroy this orb in the middle of the rooftop. I don't remmember what happened but thay did 'kill' the litch.
After the monk got his power (for those wondering it was the ability to do a ranged punch) thay where a bother to leave but... Trip was looking at the orb... the one the litch was Tring to destroy... and he thought about... how shiny it looked.
"If I smash it....
It will make more shinies"
So he got his sickle...
Raised it up...
And brought it down on to the orb.
SMASH
the orb shatters to dust Leving not a shard behind. The disappointed kobold and his companions then left the rooftop. No sooner than they had left thearly factory giant balls of red hot meteors started raining down from the sky.
The orb was the only thing stopping that from happening. The meteorites where called blood stones and they turned people into mutants by boiling your blood
AND that was hown a player completely derailed my campaign.
